With four No. 1 albums in just a few short years, Regional Mexico singer Gerardo Ortiz has ridden a tremendous wave of success to become the contemporary “king of corrido,” the style of narrative ballad popular in Norteño music. Ortiz’s blend of traditional and modern elements and his popularity among young Norteño fans led to a virtual sweep of the 2011 Billboard Mexican Music Awards, earning him six honors including New Artist of the Year and Male Artist of the Year. With the 2012 release of El Primer Ministro, Ortiz once again topped the Latin Albums chart, adding to his collection of hits with accordion-laced ballads about love and loss like “Mañana Voy a Conquistarla” and “Solo Vine a Despedirme.” Ortiz rose to overnight success in 2010 with the release of his major label debut Ni Hoy Ni Mañana, which landed in the Top 5 of the Latin Albums chart and received a Grammy nomination for Best Norteño Album. Ortiz followed up with several chart-topping live albums and his second studio album Entre Dios y el Diablo, which peaked at No. 1 on the Latin Albums chart and included the hit single “Cara A La Muerte.” On tour in 2013, Ortiz has received rave review from ticket buyers for his rousing live concerts, leaving little doubt that a bright future awaits the young singer.

    First time seeing Gerardo Ortiz,awesome performance! Was a great sport, he let us take pictures with him! Not a dull moment throughout his performance! Definitely will see him again

    Gerardo was great; but, the quality of the music was terrible, so much, that you couldn't understand what was being said or what song it was at times. Don't waste your money and/or time. I was truely disappointed. After reading other reviews, it's seems like it's not the first time this has happened.

    One of the best concerts I've been to! He's amazing and great at what he does. I was entertained by his music throught his performance. Will definitely do it again.

    Gerardo was very friendly shaking everyone's hands and taking pictures with a lot of people!! LIKE A LOT of people! The concert was LIT! Only thing I can think of is that the sound the MIC in particular was not all that clear, sometimes you couldn't hear his voice over the music (band)

    I loved the performances of Gerardo Ortiz and La Septima Banda!! The sound system, on the other hand, had a few issues. There were some points during the concert when the sound was too low. Overall the sound was a bit low in general but there were a couple moments where the artist was barely audible. The show openers were good too, although I had not heard their music I enjoyed them.

    What a fun and great concert ! Gerardo is very entertaining on stage!! The sound was off a couple of times but it was not a big deal!! I will definitely go see him !!

    They were amaziiiing !! Calibre 50 got down! The only sucky part is that they make it all dark and too much smoke so the people seating on the back cant see the stage or the TV screens.

    I always love going to see Gerardo Ortiz beacause his shows are the best and calibre 50 was awesome too it was my first time seeing them live! I would definitely go see them again but NOT at the FORUM!!!! They have no coordination! They don't know how to seat people the seats are way too close together and really small and I even fell! So never again will I go to the forum any place else but the forum

    Adriel favela was incredible for starters. Once calibre 50 came on it set the mood and Gerardo Ortiz was the cherry on top. All three sing great live, I would most definitely repeat the night.

    Gerardo Ortiz was a great performer. The reason I only gave this concert 2 stars is because of how little he performed and they had a radio station on stage for the longest time. I have a assisted to his concerts before and was 5 stars. One last thing, the security's on the floor where unprofessional letting people dance in between aisle and the side of the walls/mirrors were people who should've got a hotel room. We should of sat in the nose bleeds.
