Every single muscian for the concert was off the scale wonderfully talented. I knew it would be great, but was totally thrilled to get to hear that kind of talent. I appreciate the sponsors bringing in such great music and look forward to seeing the next event July 31. We certainly support jazz, blue, Soul, and R&B. Great show!!!!!!!!!!
This was my first time going to a jazz conert, however it will not be my last. It was a very laid-back, nice and easy, mature concert. All the artists were talented and involved the crowd with their perfomance. Also the venue, Mable House Amphitheatre, is very nice and a hidden jewel. I will definetly consider buying tickets for the next concert on July 31, 2010.
I have been waiting for a long time to see Peter White in concert. His tour locations were never close or convenient. Finally, he was in Atlanta - about 200 miles away. We made the trip and were not disappointed. He is not the best dancer, but he is my favorite smooth jazz guitarist. Joey Sommerville and Gerald Albright were also outstanding. The combination of all performers with an excellent band made for an enjoyable and entertaining evening. This was our first time to the Mable House ampitheater in Atlanta. It was a nice setting and very well managed with an excellent staff.
This was a great concert. The weather was great. Gerald Albright and Peter were very good. But Joey Summerville was the man. Exceptional horn play. And Daniel Moore was a nice surprise.
The performers were outstanding. Mary Louise Lee was wonderful as always--covering favorites with a rich, gifted voice. Her band accompanied her superbly. Gerald Albright makes you happy he plays the sax from the moment he steps on stage--even with canned music. Exhausted from a plane from some part of Asia, he gave us his all and then some.
This was my first time at the Birchmere and I can say I really enjoyed the atmosphere, food and especially the entertainment (Gerald Albright and his crew). Will I go again - most definately!
From the moment the show commenced, Gerald Albright captivated the crowd and kept our hands clapping and feet moving throughout the show. You normally hear people say the third time is the charm, but I can emphatically state that my first outing with Gerald in concert was all that, and some. His renditions of Bermuda Nights, My, My, My, and Anniversary, the classics that put him on the map, were the highlights of the night, and Walking Down Beale Street sealed the deal!
This was my first time hearing Gerald Albright live. The concert took place at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA on Thursday, November 5, 2009. Gerald is undoubtedly a brilliant musician. Listening to his soulful playing of the saxophone, kept me spell bound during the entire concert. He has mastered his intrument and has no problem using it the way it should be used. When he walked back on stage for the encore, he took the audience to a different level. To say the least, the concert was "off the chain!"
This was my first time seeing his preformance live, and It was a amazing, the band has a wealth of talent, that any artist should be thankful to have them. I will forever be a fan of Gerald Albright....I just want to say a job well done..
Gerald and his band members were awesome. The performance was wonderful.
Gerald Albright was totally aligned with the sun, the moon and the stars last night. He perfectly complimented the evening.
Outstanding from the opening song to the encore!!!
My husband and I had an excellent time. The food was great and the performance was even better!
Fantastic! A true showman, obviously loving every minute of what he does. Superb chemistry with the band and audience.
They did an amazing concert together. It was a joy to witness two of the biggest cats in jazz work together and compliment each others artistry such as these two giants did, no eagle trippin!!! Just straight music genius X 1000. Great concert !!!!!
Good concert on a beautiful nite. Great Jazz on the River.
Albright and Whalum... It was like watching a male bonding moment! It was really cool... their chemistry was off the chain! It was laid back jazzy funk! Yeah... that's it!
Gerald Albright & Kurt Whalum were fabulous! There saxaphone plan was awesome!
Those guys were great at Chene Park. If they come back, I would higly recommend seeing them.
