Since 1976, George Thorogood & The Destroyers have sold over 15 million albums, played more than 8,000 ferocious live shows, and built a catalog of classic hits that includes "Get A Haircut", "I Drink Alone", "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer", "Move It On Over" and the definitive badass anthem "Bad To The Bone". Now "one of the most iconic bands in rock & roll history" (Rapid City Journal) celebrates it all with their Good To Be Bad Tour: 45 Years Of Rock.
It's on tour that George & band flip the switch nightly, delivering what The Toledo Blade calls a "gut-bustin', guitar-wailin', face-meltin', take-no-prisoners, good old-fashioned lunch bucket rock-and-roll show". The Sacramento Bee says, "The Destroyers remain as they have been for years – Jeff Simon on percussion, Bill Blough on bass, Jim Suhler on guitar, and Buddy Leach on saxophone. They are without doubt one of the best touring bands in blues-rock history." Or as Rolling Stone once raved, "George Thorogood & The Destroyers play rock & roll hot enough to melt the polar icecaps and flood the world's major population centers."
Really enjoyed the show. A lot of fun and nice to finally see GT and The Destroyers live. It was a lot of fun, heard all the hits, good interaction with the crowd.
We loved his performance!! And he is so funny, too!! Can’t wait to see him again!!
Walter Trout and George Thorogood both delivered amazing performances. The veteran rockers gave 100% on the stage, providing a non-stop Rock N Roll party. However, there was one big disappointment with my seats. The view of the stage was obstructed by elevated video cameras at the control booth. This was dead-center of section 6, which is the middle of the seating! Hard to believe the Pacific Amphitheater would do this, and the obstructed view was not mentioned at all when I purchased the tickets!! There were a lot of other seats in front of mine that were obstructed even more, so I imagine a lot of fans are complaining.
George Thorogood & the Destroyers still rock the house. This is one of the only bands I have not seen in concert and I was not disappointed. Thank you for a great night of music GTD.
Great Show, Beginning with Walter Trout. Walter was great and entertaining. George Thorogood was awesome as ever. I've seen him in concert several times and he never disappoints. I was rocking out the whole time.
George Thorogood was better than I thought he would be. I had such a wonderful time and enjoyed the show immensely.
Concert was pretty good. I could have done without him throwing his drink on us-but still a great show
Although the weather was a drag and we waited almost 2 hours for the concert to start, George and the band did not disappoint! The sound was good and the beer prices were reasonable. The young and old were having a great time! Would definitely visit this venue again to see another rocker!
Concert and venue were good. Just had problems with Ticketmaster app. Next time I'll bring up ticket and swipe photo of it ahead of time.
Show started late due to weather concerns, but once it got going, wow... Opening act Nick Schnebelen is a rising star
George had a lot of energy from start to finish!!! I would love to see him again!
Neither of the opening acts were worthy to open for George. The only reason we rated this venue a 5 star was because of George and the D's ! If it wasn't for knowing that George was coming up, we would have left.
Excellent band and venue. Thanks Promedica for sponsoring this concert and making it affordable for everyone!
Georgia Thirogood and the Destroyers put on a great show, ticket prices were reasonable
Great concert, lots of energy & great rock music. He sounded like he did 30 years ago.
The opening act (Mike Eldred Trio) was not expected but very enjoyable. They came in to perform with George for only a week and I think this was their final show. Excellent Blues/Rock set was a terrific lead-in to The Destroyers. The Destroyers sounded as good as ever and George's guitar playing and vocals were first-rate. The usual warm-up recorded music (Eve of Destruction) and exit music (National Anthem). The only thing missing was the banner proclaiming them "The World's Greatest Bar Band". Kind of missed that! Everything you wanted to hear from "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" to "I Drink Alone" to "Who Do You Love?" to "Bad To The Bone". All in all, a fun night of old-fashioned Blues and Rock and Roll. George was definitely channeling his best swagger and Mick Jagger like stage presence. A bit hammier than I remember (not a detraction from the quality of the performance). 4.5 Stars.
The show was fantastic from the beginning to the very end! George's back-up act (Mike Eldridge Trio) was so impressive that I purchased one of their CD's during intermission (something I have NEVER done in my 40+ years of concert going)! GEORGE Thorogood played so fantastic & really engaged the entire crowd, the good music kept coming & coming. No breaks between songs, just pure entertainment!! If you get a chance to see the show DEFINATELY GO FOR IT!!
Good time ,good show, great seats ,good merchandise
Good,to see GT & Destroyers back in Boston proper. It's been a long time since they actually played in the city which many fans adore him and his "rock'in jamboree"! Good sound throughout and great set list lit up the Wilbur on a hot summer night. "Gear Jammer" slammed it home and brought the crowd to a crescendo that lasted the rest of the evening. The Destroyers played well, as they always do, and George's stage side manner with the crowd is always a treat. Keep rock'in George, Beantown loves ya and the rest of the "Bad to the Bone Nation" does too!
His shows are always fun and full of energy. I've seen him a few times & would go back again. The Wilbur is a great place to see a show!
