About

GEORGE EZRA IN CONCERT:

It’s been a quick rise for bass-voiced British singer-songwriter George Ezra. Since blowing up charts around the globe in 2013 with his folky breakout hit “Budapest”, Ezra has topped the UK Albums Chart, toured the world, and has been nominated for a bevvy of awards. Despite his astronomical rise, the fresh-faced young crooner remains humble and authentic in concert, delivering his world-wise songs with a disarming smile and plenty of infectious energy. With his rich voice and expertly crafted songs, George Ezra is a must-see for fans of folk, blues, and good old-fashioned rock and roll.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

George Ezra was born and raised in Hertford, England, and in 2011 he moved to Bristol to attend the British and Irish Modern Music Institute. His love for American folk and blues artists like Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan closely influenced his songwriting, but it was the huge, throaty voice of blues legend Lead Belly that inspired his singing style. Ezra made his debut in 2013 with a performance on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury, which he followed up a few months later with his debut EP Did You Hear the Rain? In late 2013 he scored a breakthrough hit with “Budapest”, the lead single from his 2014 debut album Wanted on Voyage. The song became an international sensation, helping to propel the album to the top of the UK Albums Chart and the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 chart in the US. With a string of high profile festival appearances slated for 2015, Ezra has ticket buyers eager to catch him in concert.

Absolutely fantastic! George is going to be a huge - sounds like Elvis meets Johnny Cash meets Jim Morrison. Can't wait for his next album.

    George Ezra exceeded expectations!

by CEMD on 8/6/15Terminal 5 - New York

Terminal 5 is such a cool venue, especially to see George Ezra. His vocals were amazing and he shared so many great stories about his songs and their creation. What a great personality! He seemed genuinely touched by the crowds' enthusiasm singing his songs. Such a gifted, young artist! I'd love to see him again!

    Love George Ezra's performance but...

    by Moe1390 on 8/3/15Terminal 5 - New York

I though that the concert was great but we got to the venue around 6:40, we were let in at 7:00 but the concert didn't start until 8:00. The opening act was good but a little slow and mellow, I was about done with the whole thing by the time George Ezra came out (at 9:00). The performance lasted about 55 min, so all in all a three hour (plus commute) endeavor for a 55 min show. George Ezra did do an encore, which was nice, I actually though that "Did you hear the rain?" that he performed as the last, last song was his best song that night. Venue is pretty clean and spacious, few bars on every floor to keep one occupied while you wait for the performance to start.

    A Night to Remember!

by Ksmehalco on 8/3/15Terminal 5 - New York

Once again, George blew it out of the water! Although he did not play my favorite song, Over the Creek, he still put on an amazing show!

    Amazing!

by Courtno on 8/2/15Terminal 5 - New York

My friend and I travelled from DC to see George perform because our show was sold out. We definitely were not disappointed. His voice is so captivating and beautiful. We were expecting a mellow, low key show but turns out, there was a lot more energy and dancing/swaying than expected. I would definitely pay to see him perform again. Five stars for George!

    George Ezra was AMAZING

    by cece50 on 8/1/15Terminal 5 - New York

The venue was fun, but acoustic's sucked! Ezra was fantastic and I loved the stories explaining the origin of the songs.

George and Dylan's respective performances were both great, but there seemed to be a lot of delay with set-up and tech before they went on. But both have amazing voices and great stage presence so it was definitely worth the wait.

    Great Concert !!

    by Moe1390 on 7/31/15Terminal 5 - New York

I recently became a huge George Ezra fan so I may be a little biased. We did have to wait an hour for the opener to come on, but that is how these concerts go. I have been to this venue before so I knew what to expect. But it was awkward having to squeeze along the balcony for space with complete strangers. I love having a bar on each floor, and the facilities themselves were rather pleasant.

    BRITS ROCK!

    by Auntie33 on 7/31/15Terminal 5 - New York

The entire set was amazing! His voice is epic and even more impressive live. There was no background music, only a live band which rocked. He played straight through for an hour except for one small 5 minute break. The crowd was awesome, the venue was great (amazing a/c and ventilation), and it was just all in, an epic experience. The show was worth much more than he was charging. Hope he comes back to the states real soon (maybe outdoor concert?).

    Great performance!

by Anonymous on 7/31/15Terminal 5 - New York

An amazing voice & stage presence. This gifted young singer smiles often, engages with his fans, and knows how to put everyone in a good mood. Mixes in a couple of well-chosen covers in a setlist of mostly original songs.

George Ezra is a true talent, awesome live.

by Dalia51 on 5/16/15Ace of Spades - Sacramento

I saw George in Sacramento, CA, Ace of Spades. One of the best concerts I have been to & I have been to a lot of concerts. His voice was deep & sexy, he spoke to the audience & he is adorable. I will be seeing him on Aug 7 in San Francisco & I am so so excited. This is a first for me because I only see an artist in concert once, then I go on to someone else. I actually wish he had more concerts in Sacramento & the Bay Area, I would see them all. He is also a good song writer & guitar player, he is the whole enchilada & I'd like to eat him up, sorry, I digress.

    Amazing, talented... refreshingly real

by MyPrtyPwny on 2/2/15Key Arena - Seattle

It's been a long time since I've heard a new artist that I got really enthusiastic about. George makes up for all of them. I just saw his video for "Listen to the Man" (starring none other than Sir Ian McKellen) and thought he had an amazing voice for such a young man. Then I found his other videos. His songs are very catchy. I'm hooked. I hum his songs to myself throughout the day. I sing my son to sleep with "Budapest." My 3 year old LOVES George! I read in one of George's interviews that he's working on a kid's album next. Please, please George if you read this write a song about tooth brushing. Something funny! Every parent who struggles with tooth brushing (make that every parent) will thank you!! :D Although his album title is inspired by Paddington Bear and he's adorable to look at, don't underestimate the amazing talent in George. This is not a "boy band." He writes his own songs, some of which are kind of dark. (Check out Did You Hear the Rain.) He actually plays guitar. He doesn't pretend to be a goody two shoes. He doesn't pretend to be a bad ass. He doesn't PRETEND to be anything. He's a real, honest story teller... and the best musicians are.

    George Ezra...talented and underrated!

by NashvilleConcertJunkie on 1/21/15Grand Ole Opry - Nashville

Saw him open for Sam Smith, and he was really good! Too short of a set and the crowd didn't know him well. Give him a shot, he's really talented! Sounds great live, which is rare these days. Give him a listen and then go see him!
