About

GEORGE EZRA IN CONCERT:

It’s been a quick rise for bass-voiced British singer-songwriter George Ezra. Since blowing up charts around the globe in 2013 with his folky breakout hit “Budapest”, Ezra has topped the UK Albums Chart, toured the world, and has been nominated for a bevvy of awards. Despite his astronomical rise, the fresh-faced young crooner remains humble and authentic in concert, delivering his world-wise songs with a disarming smile and plenty of infectious energy. With his rich voice and expertly crafted songs, George Ezra is a must-see for fans of folk, blues, and good old-fashioned rock and roll.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

George Ezra was born and raised in Hertford, England, and in 2011 he moved to Bristol to attend the British and Irish Modern Music Institute. His love for American folk and blues artists like Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan closely influenced his songwriting, but it was the huge, throaty voice of blues legend Lead Belly that inspired his singing style. Ezra made his debut in 2013 with a performance on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury, which he followed up a few months later with his debut EP Did You Hear the Rain? In late 2013 he scored a breakthrough hit with “Budapest”, the lead single from his 2014 debut album Wanted on Voyage. The song became an international sensation, helping to propel the album to the top of the UK Albums Chart and the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 chart in the US. With a string of high profile festival appearances slated for 2015, Ezra has ticket buyers eager to catch him in concert.

You never know what you are going to get when you pull an artist you like out of the studio and put them on stage. George Ezra didn't disappoint. Lots of energy. Great music. Good sound system. Very professional and personable performer. What's not to like?

    Sweet BUT short

    by FrazelDazel88888 on 5/12/18Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

He played an hour at, including encore. No covers, no band introductions, or band member solos. He was chatty, which was great at the time, but now that I know it was taking up playing time, I wish he had just kept playing. He sounded great, and did a 50/50 mix of old and new. Would go again, but expected more.

    George Ezra is super-talented!

by Hether on 10/12/15Civic Theatre - New Orleans

I immediately bought George Ezra's album after going to his concert. I liked a couple of his songs that I'd heard on the radio. But, after hearing him in person, I really fell in love with his music. He writes too. His voice is quite amazing and deep, and sounds much older than his 22 years. He is very talented, and I'd go see him again if I have a chance. He liked to talk about each song before he performed it, about the writing process and what inspired him. His British accent and lips weren't bad either. I brought my 14 year old daughter for her birthday, along with her friend. It was very appropriate for that. He didn't cuss or speak inappropriately at all. Awesome performance!

    A voice like no other...

by IttyBittyStitches on 10/12/15Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

I first encountered George Ezra when he opened for Sam Smith in January of 2015. When he walked on stage and started singing, I couldn't believe that voice was coming out of him. After the show, I looked him up and that's when I discovered how young he was. I knew his star would be on the rise quickly. I listened to anything he had sang and couldn't wait to get my hands on his album when it released in the US. I had to hunt all over my small town because he is unknown. I knew I would go to his concert if he came close enough to my small town. He is one of the few artists that sound exactly the same live as they do on their album. Young "Geoff" still may be relatively unknown as of now but his star will soon blow up when others hear his amazing voice. So glad I was able to witness his talent in person for a second time. #petan

    Great venue incredible performance

by eclecticmusicfan on 10/11/15Civic Theatre - New Orleans

This venue was a great theater to capture George's music style and voice. It was an all ages show, so the balcony seating was open to accommodate those who couldn't stand. Every location in the theater provided a great view so you didn't miss a thing. George is a storyteller with an upgraded 50s sound, his single Budapest did not disappoint but it was his cover of Macy Gray's "I try" that really stole the show in my opinion. If you have the opportunity to see this artist in a smaller setting before he gets any bigger than take advantage and go!

    George Ezra was amazing!

by Snancyj1187 on 10/10/15Civic Theatre - New Orleans

One of the best shows I've ever been to. George Erza's voice was incredible and he sang his ass off. He can play the hell out of the guitar and you could tell he really got into the performance. His stage personality was great and he interacted well with the audience. He is such a talented musician. His opening act Andrew Duhon was amazing too. I'm proud such a talented performer is from Louisiana. I had to buy his cd after the show. All around great show and even better prices!

    Erza was awesome

by PCMOU94 on 10/10/15Civic Theatre - New Orleans

Great concert from George Ezra. Lived up to expectations. Few things to note. Songs are as recorded, concert was 1 hour which was represented in the ticket price, and Ezra is super cool.

George Ezra is a fabulous performer.

by naturegirl63 on 10/10/15Civic Theatre - New Orleans

I loved the small venue, floor tickets were the best but any seat had a good view. The sound quality however was disappointing. Fix that Civic Theater and you've got the best small venue on the Gulf Coast. I would see George Ezra there again.

Great performer, sounded great, loved every minute

by gatekpr on 10/8/15House of Blues Houston - Houston

He started right on time, his music never drowned out his voice and he had a great, clear voice. He sounded better than any album I've heard and had some fun stories to the songs! He only has one album, so he also sang some cover songs, like Macy Gray's, "I Try", which was fun too!

    George Ezra at the Ryman

    by MusicFan92 on 10/7/15Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

Saw George Ezra open for Hozier at the Ryman a few months back and when I saw he was headlining the venue himself I knew I had to go. Not only does his voice sound wonderful live but he creates a great atmosphere with his audience and just has an overall great stage presence. Highly recommend seeing him live.

    George Ezra

    by Tlowe800 on 10/2/15Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

George Ezra was outstanding live. He really knows how to entertain the crowd. He sounds better live than on his album. The crowd was nice And laid back for he most part. The venue was not the beat experience I've had. The Buckhead Theater was really hot. I had to move from the floor, where I had a great view to the balcony. Unfortunately, the balcony was not much better comfort wise. I still loved every second of it because George was just absolutely fantastic.

    Sparkling guitar matches sparkling personality

by ktdear on 10/2/15The Ryman - Nashville

I've been to many concerts and this is one of the best yet. Dylan LeBlanc was a nice opening act with a folk alternative vibe. At the end, his producer, one of the lead singers of the Civil Wars, came out and they sang a duet. It was haunting yet beautiful. Then, it only got better when George Ezra performed. His voice blends blues and folk with just enough rock to keep you on your feet and singing along. Your feet will not hurt from standing the entire time because his smooth voice caresses you throughout the concert. He is endearing and had great personal stories about his escapades around Europe which inspired a lot of his songs. His sparkling guitar matches his sparkling personality. I will definitely see him again.

The concert was wonderful. George Ezra did a great job performing and sharing his stories with the audience. The only down side was that the theater was incredibly hot.
