GEORGE EZRA IN CONCERT:
It’s been a quick rise for bass-voiced British singer-songwriter George Ezra. Since blowing up charts around the globe in 2013 with his folky breakout hit “Budapest”, Ezra has topped the UK Albums Chart, toured the world, and has been nominated for a bevvy of awards. Despite his astronomical rise, the fresh-faced young crooner remains humble and authentic in concert, delivering his world-wise songs with a disarming smile and plenty of infectious energy. With his rich voice and expertly crafted songs, George Ezra is a must-see for fans of folk, blues, and good old-fashioned rock and roll.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
George Ezra was born and raised in Hertford, England, and in 2011 he moved to Bristol to attend the British and Irish Modern Music Institute. His love for American folk and blues artists like Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan closely influenced his songwriting, but it was the huge, throaty voice of blues legend Lead Belly that inspired his singing style. Ezra made his debut in 2013 with a performance on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury, which he followed up a few months later with his debut EP Did You Hear the Rain? In late 2013 he scored a breakthrough hit with “Budapest”, the lead single from his 2014 debut album Wanted on Voyage. The song became an international sensation, helping to propel the album to the top of the UK Albums Chart and the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 chart in the US. With a string of high profile festival appearances slated for 2015, Ezra has ticket buyers eager to catch him in concert.
