Great show up until George came on need to do Moore of his music
I will summarize in 3 categories: The Good: All the artists with the exception of one were on their game. The concert started exactly on time, which is very unusual. The music selections met my expectations. The Bad: Sugarfoot of the Ohio Players should at least attempt to remember the words to his own songs especially considering the amount of stage time he was given. The Ugly: Why would the promoters turn the sound off in the venue while Parliament/Funkadelic were performing? And would someone tell me why Bootsy Collins abruptly walked off stage in the middle of his performance along with his dancers?! What was that all about? I really felt like the audience was deserved either a rain/check or a partial refund. I listened to several complaints in the lobby near the end of the concert.
My friend and I went to this concert together. It was amazing, we face painted and got and funkay. We were a little sad no one else face painted. But, we progressed on. My friend got put on stage. That was really cool! We danced our own way and funked down to the p-funk party. The crowd was exhilarating and rambunctious. I loved watching George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic inspire the crowd to get there freak on. More people should do it more often! If we all brought out our freaky sides...this world would be a happier place. I was the happiest clam throughout the whole concert. I wouldn't have missed for the world! I'll be looking forward to going to more George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic concerts. Next time I go I hope to show George some of my good dance moves. Y'all have a nice day now.
Best show I have seen in 10 years. We never sat down, danced the whole time! Special guests were awesome!
First off, I should say I do not like the Venue. The Casino Ballroom in Hampton is just not a great place to see a show. That said, George Clinton didn't stand up to all of the hype I had heard for so long. A religious experience it was not. More like...wow...ok, this is interesting for aobut 5 minutes. Maybe I expected too much. George is a pretty out-there kinda guy. Maybe the band was having an off night (It was FREEZING!). I don't know, but I was let down.
Go to this show! A must see. George and the Parliament/Funkadelic tribe is an institution of FUNK. They know how to put on a fantastic show and will not disappoint. George is the godfather of funk!
