About

Genesis is one of the world's biggest selling and most successful bands of all time. They have sold an estimated 100 million albums and have played to sold-out stadiums and arenas all over the world for decades.

The evolution of Genesis is unique, their sound developed and progressed throughout their career and with multiple line-up alterations in the early years, the classic line-up of Tony Banks, Phil Collins, and Mike Rutherford took shape in 1976.

'And Then There Were Three' (1978) was the first album the band released as a three-piece and spawned the single 'Follow You Follow Me' which was their first UK top ten and US top 30 single and proved to be the start of huge commercial global success. The albums 'Duke' (1980), 'Abacab' (1981), 'Genesis' (1983), 'Invisible Touch' (1986) and 'We Can't Dance' (1991) followed for the trio, alongside almost constant global stadium tours cementing the band as one of the most successful of all time.

Tony, Phil and Mike reunited again as a band in 2007 after almost 10 years for the Turn It On Again Tour which went on to be one of the biggest grossing tours on the year playing sold-out stadiums around the world.

2021 will see Genesis tour for the first time in 14 years, in North America, the UK, and Ireland.

  • Genesis tickets won from 3ws radio station

by Gina Warrior Princess on 12/16/21PPG Paints Arena - PittsburghRating: 5 out of 5

In May I won 2 tickets for my boyfriend's favorite band, Genesis from 3ws radio station! The doors opened 1 hr. before the show started, but we were able to buy a t-shirt, Journey tickets, and snacks. We sat beside other winners, the DJ introduced himself and took a group photo for their facebook page. They played a variety of songs, Phil got the crowd into it, and I loved Mama and Home by the seas. I took restroom breaks when they played the long, old 70's songs.

  • Phil Collins & Genesis

by Elk on 12/16/21PPG Paints Arena - PittsburghRating: 5 out of 5

Though disheartened to see how frail Phil looked, the concert was wonderful! Music was superb and seeing Nic Collins as his dad’s successor on drums was gratifying. Phil’s voice wasn’t perfect, but good enough because he’s always had a great distinctive voice! Love him and Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks. Was a little dismayed to see that hardly anyone wore masks in the audience!

First time that saw Genesis was April 13, 1976. I hope that it’s not the last. They were a big part of my life. It was an awesome show!!!!

They sounded great...even though phil was in a chair he didn't miss a beat as for the rest of the band also!! And his son Nic was fantastic!!!

  • Amazing!!!!!

Genesis definitely landed it’s spot in the top 5 concerts I have ever attended. I was so excited and honored to be able to see them live. I never imagined that Phil, Mike, and Tony would get back together to put on a show of a lifetime. It was worth every dollar spent, believe me!

  • Excellent show from some of the best...

by rdjst on 12/16/21PPG Paints Arena - PittsburghRating: 5 out of 5

It was great seeing these guys once again. This was the 4th time for me, and it did not disappoint. Mike, Phil, Tony, and the rest of the crew are all first-class. Having Phil's son Nic back on the drums is like hearing Phil all over again. Thanks for an awesome time!

  • Genesis, still rocking!

by Artie on 12/16/21PPG Paints Arena - PittsburghRating: 5 out of 5

Saw Phil the last time he came to PPG. Same as the last show, his son played the drums 🥁. Both times excellent preformed shows. Good to see all three guys together on stage. Phil may not able to get around like he did. But can still belt out a tune. Even came back for an encore. Great show 👏

  • Last Domino

by Tim on 12/16/21PPG Paints Arena - PittsburghRating: 4 out of 5

Musically and Theatrically the show gets very high marks. This is a given for a Genesis show. Phil was very charismatic as always. He is an entertainer. Struggled a bit with vocals but I am glad I was there!

  • The Last Domino? NO!

    by Katrina28 on 12/16/21PPG Paints Arena - PittsburghRating: 5 out of 5

WOW!!! Never thought I’d see Phil, Mike & Tony performing together again!!! This was definitely a “pinch me am I dreaming” moment!!! I’m lucky to live in the ‘burbs so its no hassle to attend events at PPG. The merchandise was very well displayed. Very neat & orderly. The venue has eliminated cash but provide reversal machines. There were plenty of ushers on hand that automatically approach you when they see that confused look on your face. Our seats were great - section 114. It was the closest to the stage & first row above the floor. Phil’s son, Nick Collins, has replaced him as the permanent drummer. Not to worry, although he’s only 20, he’s earned his right to be there. And from the sounds of the audience - he has quite a fan base! They played all the favorites. There were a couple of songs I was hoping to hear but I realize they can’t play them all! If you closed your eyes, you’d never know 40 years have passed. When they took a quick rest after a few songs, Phil would talk to the audience. He's still that witty & silly guy you see in music videos. Although now he’s not moving around as much. He's been performing from a typical office chair due to effects of falling off the stage years ago & just getting older. Bottom line: Great evening!!! Perfect all around from the minute I arrived. This was the highlight of my year!!!

  • Genesis Last Domino Concert

by LisAng on 12/16/21PPG Paints Arena - PittsburghRating: 4 out of 5

It was a great concert - enjoyed all of the music - sad to think they are done. The seats were good - but, in a very "busy area" - lots of traffic going up and down the steps - I believe for drinks. We were down from the FNB club and on the aisle. I can't believe the amount of people that leave the concert to go get drinks - I guess. Maybe there should be specified times for going to get drinks and restroom (but, restroom is hard to control). I probably would not sit in that area again - too much traffic. Also, there were men sitting behind us talking - who talks at a concert?? I gave 4 stars because of all of this "stuff" - not because of the concert - that would be 5 stars.

  • Stunk!

    by J. B. on 12/16/21PPG Paints Arena - PittsburghRating: 1 out of 5

Saw Phil Collins in 2019, his solo concert, was Fabulous! This was like watching old MTV videos. It stunk and we actually left early.

  • Happy but disappointed

by Dan on 12/16/21PPG Paints Arena - PittsburghRating: 4 out of 5

I grew up listening to Phill Collins. Seeing him weak and sitting in a chair was a tough thing to take in. Kudo's to the rest of the crew from Genesis you guys were awesome! I would have paid the ticket value and probably a little more to see Nick play the drums. That man was taught by the best and it shows!

  • Super Fun

I’ve always been a fan of Genesis! The first concert I saw I was in my teens in Toronto, Canada and I was hooked! I have seen them many many times and this concert did not disappoint! Well done!!! Thank-you!!

Really fabulous concert - so great to hear pieces from the Peter Gabriel days. Nic Collins did an amazing job on drums and the band was great - so tight! Yes, Phil Collin's voice is a bit rough these days, but still a treat to see him get out there and give it his all - still funny as heck too!
