About

Genesis is one of the world's biggest selling and most successful bands of all time. They have sold an estimated 100 million albums and have played to sold-out stadiums and arenas all over the world for decades.

The evolution of Genesis is unique, their sound developed and progressed throughout their career and with multiple line-up alterations in the early years, the classic line-up of Tony Banks, Phil Collins, and Mike Rutherford took shape in 1976.

'And Then There Were Three' (1978) was the first album the band released as a three-piece and spawned the single 'Follow You Follow Me' which was their first UK top ten and US top 30 single and proved to be the start of huge commercial global success. The albums 'Duke' (1980), 'Abacab' (1981), 'Genesis' (1983), 'Invisible Touch' (1986) and 'We Can't Dance' (1991) followed for the trio, alongside almost constant global stadium tours cementing the band as one of the most successful of all time.

Tony, Phil and Mike reunited again as a band in 2007 after almost 10 years for the Turn It On Again Tour which went on to be one of the biggest grossing tours on the year playing sold-out stadiums around the world.

2021 will see Genesis tour for the first time in 14 years, in North America, the UK, and Ireland.

  • Great show!

It was a little disconcerting to see Phil hobble in, but his singing was in fine form as was his charisma. The “acoustic” section offered great versions of The Lamb Lies Down as well as Follow You, Follow Me. This was my 8th or 9th Genesis show and it did not disappoint.

  • Trip Back Memory Lane

by James on 11/21/21Capital One Arena - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

I was transfixed and entertained (once I finally got over the less than comfortable atmosphere) by all the songs and tunes I remembered from 30 years (and more) ago. It didn't seem quite real, but was enjoyable. Most of my fellow fans were about my age. Overall, I was impressed, although not 100%. It is clear that Phil Collins has aged more than Tony Banks or Mike Rutherford, who still have an amazing command of their instruments and the immortal tunes. I would have liked to have heard some selections from ABACAB, since it is now 40 years since it was released.

  • Just like always

Genesis has been my favorite band since 1974 when some friends of mine were listening to the Lamb Lies down on Broadway. Since then I've seen them live 6 times. I'm a very active concert goer and of the over 300 concerts I've seen, Genesis shows are always in my top 10. This was no different. Phil's physical limitations clearly had no impact on his ability to entertain and engage the audience. Musicianship was stellar and Nicolas Collins on drums is truly, as Phil introduced him, The Boy Wonder. I live in Florida and they were not coming here so I went to them in DC. So glad I did. Another amazing and engrossing show.

  • Probably your last chance to see Genesis

by stevejc on 11/21/21Capital One Arena - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Super show - great music and entertainment. No disappointments here - everyone at Capitol One Arena had a blast. The band has said this will probably be their last tour - Phil's health is not good but that didn't detract at all from his performance at this concert. If you have a chance to go see them, you should do that! Well worth it.

  • It was worth waiting for and will be remembered among the be

by John A on 11/21/21Capital One Arena - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I've been a Genesis fan since the early 70s and have like or love nearly everything they've done. Whether with Gabriel and Hacket or the later versions. I saw them in the 90s in a huge concrete indoor area and thought the sound and lights were memorable. I recently caught the Last Domino tour in Washington, D.C. and easily put it among the my top show expereinces. The sound was superb, the lights and camera work was well done and kept me engaged. What a production crew! As musicians they all did their job superbly with the humility of real and proven pros. These are not flashy musicians that need to parade their talent. They use their abilities to allow the music to speak for itself. Yeah, Phil Collins is playful and a bit of a star- he's the front person. I give him major kudos for not minimizing or trying to disguise his disabilities. He is doing his job and not letting his mates- or audience- down. A couple weaker notes during the first song but rapidly bring the full force of his unique voice to bear solidly and convincingly. As far as Nic taking the throne from Phil...Wow! The kid can play... with the best of them. I loved seeing Phil and Chester Thompson on kits in the past but Nic was solid and engergetic. The show supposedly ran for two and a half hours but I felt like it was dreadfully too short. It felt like barely 50 minutes and I wanted to hear so much more. This D.C. Genesis Last Domino concert will be one of my all-time favorite live performances, no doubt.

Genesis will always be one of the best bands of all time. My only regret is not seeing them more often in my younger years. The show in DC was magic. ❤

  • Annoyances at the venue disappointed the evening

by MikeW on 11/21/21Capital One Arena - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

Started standing in a long line in the cold rain to enter the venue. We had paid premium prices in the pre-sale for seats facing the stage in the lower bowl. We arrived at our seats to discover that we were sitting in an obstructed view with all of the cables for the sound and lights hanging in front of us. There were no cup holders which are typical at our seat level so put my very expensive drink down on the floor only to have it spill on a seam in the floor which was not marked and the same color as the floor. Although the usher did have housekeeping clean it up, she told me to tell the server at the bar what happened and he would replace it, lots of luck there as the barkeep was not with the program. After complaining about the obstructed view, guest services moved us to seats to the side of the stage, but was a significantly lesser view of the show's video presentation. Would not do it again.

  • Very good overall

by rynoelway on 11/21/21Capital One Arena - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

Big fan of Genesis pop music and some of their earlier rock. It was great to see the band back together. They played several songs that weren't their bigger pop hits and disappointingly left several of their bigger pop hits off the setlist (including Abacab). Phil is a fun personality, of course. The band seemed like they were stalling several times to give him a chance to recover his voice, so there were several times where the band would just jam for a while. Phil's son was fun to see on drums and he seems highly talented and having fun up there.

  • Fun, Fantastic and Bittersweet

Loved the show. They never fail to deliver a good time. Bittersweet because it may be their last tour. I ope not!

  • Wonderful concert

by Miss Ponchy on 11/21/21Capital One Arena - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

I’ve been a Genesis fan for many years. I am so happy that I got the chance to attend this concert. I enjoyed old favorites and some songs that I was not as familiar with. I was disappointed that the band did not perform ‘Misunderstanding’ and ‘Hold on my Heart’. I would’ve preferred to hear those two songs and then some of the more obscure songs they performed.

  • Genesis last domino concert

by Drob on 11/21/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic! Well choreographed show. Phil’s Collins did a nice job with vocals and his son was fantastic on drums. Played for almost 2 1/2 hours with only small breaks for Phillis Collins to engage with the audience. Played several of their most memorable songs however Abacab and no reply at all not among them. Overall, I would recommend seeing them if you have the chance
