About

Genesis is one of the world's biggest selling and most successful bands of all time. They have sold an estimated 100 million albums and have played to sold-out stadiums and arenas all over the world for decades.

The evolution of Genesis is unique, their sound developed and progressed throughout their career and with multiple line-up alterations in the early years, the classic line-up of Tony Banks, Phil Collins, and Mike Rutherford took shape in 1976.

'And Then There Were Three' (1978) was the first album the band released as a three-piece and spawned the single 'Follow You Follow Me' which was their first UK top ten and US top 30 single and proved to be the start of huge commercial global success. The albums 'Duke' (1980), 'Abacab' (1981), 'Genesis' (1983), 'Invisible Touch' (1986) and 'We Can't Dance' (1991) followed for the trio, alongside almost constant global stadium tours cementing the band as one of the most successful of all time.

Tony, Phil and Mike reunited again as a band in 2007 after almost 10 years for the Turn It On Again Tour which went on to be one of the biggest grossing tours on the year playing sold-out stadiums around the world.

2021 will see Genesis tour for the first time in 14 years, in North America, the UK, and Ireland.

  • Fantastic Farewell to One of the Greatest Bands Ever

    by Tom M. on 12/20/21TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

It was a wonderful night. The band sounded great, and they performed many of my favorite songs. My favorite part was when the band sat down at the front of the stage and played a number of songs with a stripped down, almost acoustic sound. While I'm sad that I'll probably never see them perform live again, I am so grateful to have seen them the times that I did, and especially this farewell performance.

  • Emotional and Wonderful

by lissings on 12/20/21TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

The electricity in the arena was palpable as Phil informed the fans that their first performance, and that night, their last in the US began and ended in Boston. The light show was amazing and the energy from the performers. We were all in it together. Only issue - - TD Garden needs to up their food offerings - - awful pretzel and no coke syrup in the soda.

  • The show was amazing!

Band was tight and Phil was spot on despite needing to sing from a chair.

  • A-MA-ZING!

by Genesis fan since the very beginning on 12/20/21TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Last saw Genesis 1992 at Foxborough. They still got it - even without Phil on drums. Son Nic was phenomenal! Apple didn’t fall from the tree. Audience was great - everyone up singing and dancing from the very first notes. Jumbo screen graphics show was fun to watch and nice to see the band close up. Awesome concert! Thank you Genesis for touring again!

  • Still worth seeing

by Ears ring on 12/20/21TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Genesis were in fine form at their last American tour stop in Boston. The band sounded perfect and Nik Collins does a great job subbing for his father. Phil is clearly beat up at this point but his voice is still strong. Most of the songs keys were dropped to help with the high notes but all older bands are doing that. The stage show and lights kept your interest as you listened to the band. And the sound was perfect. They had a scaffolding rig that ran the length of the arena with speaker stacks at the mid and back of the arena so the sound was full without having to be overly loud. It away an enjoyable night and we are definitely happy we chose to see them one more time.

This was a special time for my brother and I to be able to go see Phil and the group one last time on my birthday! Will never forget it and hope they will be able to perform next year when he is feeling better!

  • Great Show

by Bobmercu on 12/20/21TD Garden - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

about a 2 hour 20 minute show . Played a mix of both older progressive stuff and the "hits" from later years.Incredible multi media lights show. Sad seeing Phil in the state he is in , barely walking with a cane. His son filled in nicely on the drums..

  • Never disappoints

Amazing performance! Phil Collins may be getting up there in years but his voice sounds awesome!! His son is an amazing musician as well- playing drums just like his Dad. Great seats!!

We flew 3000 miles to see this last concert in the U.S. for Phil Collins and Genesis. It was phenomenal! Worth every penny. TD Gardens also did a great job with the event.

  • I though the instruments drowned out Phil Collins voice

by Matt on 12/19/21TD Garden - BostonRating: 2 out of 5

I also fid not realize how frail Phil was. It woukd have been nice to hear some of the singles from Mike Rutherford.

  • Great performance by one of the legends of progressive rock

    by JPM1974 on 12/19/21TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

My son, my daughter, her boyfriend, and I all had a wonderful experience enjoying what may be the final North American performance of Genesis. Collins, Banks, and Rutherford all performed well, as did Stuermer and Collin's son Nic on drums, replacing his father in that capacity. The show features several of their hits from the 70s and 80s and the accompanying light show was a marvel as well. Getting in and out of TD Garden was relatively smooth, as was parking in the TD Garden garage. It's not the first show I've seen there and it won't be the last.
