About

With 2013's Make A Move -- his fifth studio album in just 10 years -- Gavin DeGraw celebrated his fourth Top 20 appearance on the Billboard 200. An Irish contemporary rocker with a folksy vibe, DeGraw has earned a reputation as a consummate live performer, winning over ticket buyers with his charismatic presence and soulful voice. DeGraw shot to fame in 2004 with "I Don't Want To Be," a millennial anthem that became the theme song for CW teen drama One Tree Hill. His relationship with television continued unabated throughout the 2000's, with tracks being featured on shows including House, The Bachelor and So You Think You Can Dance. DeGraw's early work offered an authentic soul sound that contrasted with much of its radio brethren at the time -- his 2003 debut album Chariot spawned a the hit single of the same name, firmly establishing him as a modern torchbearer of blue-eyed soul. On the road in 2013 and beyond, DeGraw has drawn praise for his heartfelt live concerts where he's maxed capacity at Varsity Theater (Minneapolis) and other such venues.

    Gavin is top notch

by Ken4026 on 6/22/11Hard Rock Live - Biloxi

The show was awesome. Gavin had no opening act and came out at 8. He played for about an hour and a half non-stop, with a good mix of old and new songs. I wish the show would have been 3 hours long cause he had so many more awesome songs he could have performed. If I had a complaint, it was that the show was too short, even though, like i said, he played for a solid hour and a half. I'm just being selfish. His new album should be great. Best new song of the night is called "Radiation" If he was nearby again on this current tour, I'd spend the money to go in a heartbeat.

Gavin is the real deal!! Fantastic show!!

by Raverb on 6/22/11Hard Rock Live - Biloxi

Gavin DeGraw is perhaps one of the most underrated artists. If I were to describe him in one word, it would be Quality. His voice is the real deal. Live concerts are sometimes dissappointing when the artist does not sound like they do on the radio. Gavin sounds amazing live, and he puts on a great show! I highly recommend this extremely talented guy. My husband and I would go see Gavin multiple times a year if our schedules and pocketbook allowed. Excellent show!

    Too many unknown songs

by DeGrawLover on 6/21/11Hard Rock Live - Biloxi

I enjoyed the concert but I've seen him live many times and this concert there were just too many new songs played that no one knew to words to. I liked the new songs and will buy them when they come out, but a concert is for singing along and you can't do that when you don't know any of the songs!!!

    GAVIN DEGRAW IS FLAWLESS

by xjadax320 on 6/21/11Hard Rock Live - Biloxi

Gavin Degraw shines live! He captivates everyone in the audience! The show was either shorter than I had hoped, or I was just enjoying it so much that it flew by in a flash! One thing I do have to comment on is this: I knew I bought "Standing Room Front" tickets, but when i received them they were labelled with a row number, and seat numbers... i got to thinking there would be seats (note to ticketmaster). I ended up expecting there to be seats! Regardless, I would travel another 3,000 miles to see a show of Gavin's again! He interacts with the crowd, an attractive plus! Very pleased*

Gavin sounds as great live as he does on his albums. Played a good mix of familiar and new songs.

You never want to miss a Gavin Degraw show!

by concertsinger13 on 6/21/11Hard Rock Live - Biloxi

This was my second time seeing Gavin in concert and it was just as amazing the second time around! He connects with his audience and you can tell he genuinely loves what he does. He played some of the songs that are going to be on his upcoming album, and I definitely liked what I heard. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest on August 9th when the album comes in the mail! If you have a chance to catch one of his shows, don't pass up the opportunity because he is definitely worth it!

    Good show

by thibby22 on 6/21/11Hard Rock Live - Biloxi

It was a great show, a little on the short side. The ticket prices were a bit much for what it was, but other than that I had a great time.

    Gavin is amazing!

by mnl237 on 3/5/10House of Blues - Cleveland

I've been following Gavin since his 2003 Chariot release. I've been to 6 of Gavin's concerts and with every show he continues to capture my heart. With his soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics...I love it!! I make plans every summer to attend a Gavin concert and you should too!! The House of Blues concert in Cleveland was a smaller venue and as a result created a more intimate performance. I loved it and hope Gavin performs there again!

    Gavin DeGraw

by Sing4MeGavin on 9/20/09New York State Fair - Syracuse

Gavin DeGraw was the opening act for Kelly Clarkson at the New York State Fair in Syracuse, NY on 8/27/09. Due to the time constraints of being the opening act, Gavin's setlist included some of his most popular music including Free, Chariot, and I Don't Want To Be. Gavin delivered a fantastic performance. He is a talented performer who relies on his vocal talents as the backbone of his performance. Would highly recommend without reservations.

    Collective Soul at Revolution

by Michellebno on 7/21/09Revolution Live - Ft Lauderdale

Collective Soul was enjoyable. The lead singer had lost his voice, which was unfortunate, but he handled it professionally, and it didn't ruin the show. However the sound mixing was TERRIBLE! Collective Soul has a very distinctive sound, and they were halfway through the first song before I realized it was them. The sound was very muddy and thick. It sounded like the hip-hop music coming from the car next to you at a stop light. Really, really bad. This was my first show at Revolution, and while the venue was nice, I won't be back if they're going to butcher the band on stage.

    I've Seen Better

by EleanorRigby on 7/21/09Snowden Grove Amphitheatre - Southaven

The venue was not the best, though it was clean, it was not a good place to see a concert. Collective Soul was good, but they played too long. People were either there to see Gavin or Collective Soul, so either people arrive late to see Gavin or left early when Collective Soul finished. They were not a good combo. Very few people there would have liked both artists. It started late, CS played long, so by the time Gavin played it was really late and I had driven a long way to see him and had a long way to go afterword. Gavin was entertaining, but I preferred the show he did in Starkville, MS during Bulldog Bash-way more energy. Because the venue was so big, it looked like no one was there.

    Mixed thoughts

by CSFanDisappointed on 7/18/09Revolution Live - Ft Lauderdale

First, the venue was awesome. I'd never been before, but will definitely go back. I am a Collective Soul fan and have been for many years. I was a bit disappointed that they weren't the headliner. When they played they were great. But Ed Roland's voice was cracking (I saw them in 2003 in West Palm Beach and they had the same problem then, but still gave a great performance). Tonight however, he also seemed to have an attitude problem. The crowd wasn't cheering enough for him or laughing at his jokes loudly enough. I'm pretty sure they cut the show short, which was quite disappointing. The crowd definitely seemed to be there more for Gavin DeGraw, but some people were still there for Collective Soul and they owed something to that part of the crowd. I'd not heard of Gavin DeGraw before this concert. I did know a few of his songs, and he was a great performer. A truly great performance by DeGraw. Overall, a good concert, but disappointing for CS fans.

    Amazing Show

by GavinFan on 7/18/09Revolution Live - Ft Lauderdale

The Gavin DeGraw and Collective Soul show was amazing and it exceeded my expectations. I have been a Gavin fan for many years so when I found out he was coming to South Florida, I immediately bought tickets for my friends and me. Gavin live is so much better than on CD (sometimes this is not always the case with artists). Gavin is so versatile with his music. He plays the piano, guitar, and has a voice that is magical. I would recommend this show to anyone. If you are not a Gavin fan, you would be if you saw him live. Oh and did I mention we say him before the concert at one of the local restaurants and he took a picture with us. He is a real class act!
