About

"I ain't really happy," sings Gary Allan on "Get Off on the Pain," the down-home masterstroke that begins and provides the name for his new MCA Nashville collection, "until the sky starts driving rain." Unhesitatingly frank, mercilessly guitar-crazed, it's the rocked-out country confession of a smart guy drawn to what the rest of the world calls wrong roads and long shots, or complains of as aching bones and stubbornness, or — as Allan sings in a spectacular stretch of drawn-out soulful vowels — underestimates as dark horses. And as the California-born superstar releases his eighth studio album, it's about the most Gary Allan piece anyone could imagine.

This man is a complete entertainer. He writes the majority of his songs, he is an awesome guitar player with an awesome voice and he is a surfer! How many singers can say that!

Loved it - he sounds as good - or better? - live as he does recorded. His concert went by so fast I couldn't believe it when it was over and wished it had been much, much longer. I could listen to him for hours. Loved the venue, too - I will definitely return.

Gary Allan puts on a great show, and you can tell he's having a good time on stage. I enjoyed the older songs he played this time, though his new single is great, too!

Gary puts on a great show. He loves the music he plays and enjoys playing if for the fans. It was a great experience and highly recommended to all. I loved the bottle of Jack being passed around the stage to all the band members, classic rockin' country.

I have been to many Gary Allan shows, I had a ticket to go to this one and hurt myself over the weekend and was not able to attend, Howeve from past experience I have never been to a bad Gary Allan Show in 5 years, ever. Wish I was there but I was in traction and they thought it would not be a good idea. See you next time Gary...

The Tulalip Amphitheatre is a GREAT venue. Small and laid back. Gary took time to sign autographs and seemed to be into the crowd. The weather was GREAT and the crowd was pretty mellow.

  • Gary Allan doesn't disapoint!

Gary Allan was fantastic last night! The fans were constantly on their feet, I don't think I ever saw anyone sitting once the show started. The Tulalip venue was great, not a bad seat in the house.

It was a perfect evening for the perfect concert. well almost perfect. I missed Gary and the band singing "Smoke Rings in the Dark" beyond that it was fantastic...I will continue to watch for Gary Allan whenever he comes to the Pacific NW. No one in country music compares...

  • Late and Loud

by Wordy on 7/10/09The Tulalip Amphitheatre - TulalipRating: 1 out of 5

I've been to the Tulalip Amphitheater for two other concerts, both were excellent. However, this go was disappointing. To begin with, the tickets indicated that the show began at 7. We arrived 15 minutes early, which we figured was normal for the size of venue. Our first clue should have been that there were very few cars in the lot, and no one seemed in any rush to get inside. The "opening act" of Native Drummers performed at roughly 7:15. Loooong pause with encouragement to visit the vendors. Another band performed for 10 minutes at approximately 7:45. Another Looooong break with the now redundant encouragements to visit the vendors especially the t-shirt booth. Gary Allan finally took the stage at 8:25. The sound was very poor. Loud and muddled. Much of Mr. Allan's attraction is his unique voice and tonal qualities. None could be heard. Anyone could have been on the stage for all the good the sound system delivered. To top it off, our seats were obstructed, so we spent the concert standing on the green in order to see any of the musicians. We left early. At least we beat the traffic.

It was a great concert, we were able to see the stage without much interuption. The audio was great and all the people that worked at the event center were very polite. Thanks for a great experiance, I would do it again.

  • I Love Gary Allan

by Barney on 7/10/09The Tulalip Amphitheatre - TulalipRating: 5 out of 5

The show itself was great. Gary puts on an awesome show. The people serving the refreshments could have worked faster to keep the lines from getting so long. That was the only downfall, slow workers.

  • Gary Allan was incredible!!

by SehornFan on 7/10/09The Tulalip Amphitheatre - TulalipRating: 5 out of 5

Gary puts on a great show and the venue was incredibly nice as well. All sunshine! One con is outside of the souvenir booth it is "cash only". There weren't any signs at all. We had to leave the venue and go to the casino for cash.

  • i love gary allan...concert was awesome!

by SPARKIE on 7/9/09PNC PAVILION - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

I LOVED THE CONCERT. ALL THE SONGS WERE GREAT SOUND WAS AWESOME AND SEATS WERE GOOD. I WISH THE STAGE WAS SETUP SO THE PERFORMERS COULD COME OUT A LITTLE FARTHER. THE MAIN LIGHT ON PERFORMER WAS A LITTLE TOO BRIGHT..BUT THE REST WAS GREAT.

Gary Allan and Craig Morgan put on the best concerts I have ever been to. It was a blast and the PNC Pavilion was a great atmosphere and great seats. Not to mention, we have excellent pictures to always remember it by. We can't wait to see him again!

Gary Allan was amazing! He rocked every song. I took a friend who had never been to a country concert and he loved the show. PNC Pavilion is the place to see a show. You can see from everywhere.
