About

"I ain't really happy," sings Gary Allan on "Get Off on the Pain," the down-home masterstroke that begins and provides the name for his new MCA Nashville collection, "until the sky starts driving rain." Unhesitatingly frank, mercilessly guitar-crazed, it's the rocked-out country confession of a smart guy drawn to what the rest of the world calls wrong roads and long shots, or complains of as aching bones and stubbornness, or — as Allan sings in a spectacular stretch of drawn-out soulful vowels — underestimates as dark horses. And as the California-born superstar releases his eighth studio album, it's about the most Gary Allan piece anyone could imagine.

I have been to almost every Gary concert that has been in Colorado and I never get tired of seeing him! He always brings energy to the stage! I think all of his songs are amazing and loved every minute of the concert! He gives off the vibe that he really loves what he's doing! =)

  • Gary Allan Rocked The Ogden!!

    by LovesMusic13 on 8/10/09Ogden Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

Gary Allan is definitely underrated! He was outstanding at The Ogden. He got the crowd really geared up, and his band is just wonderful - they can really jam out. His voice belted, and sounded just like it does on his recorded tracks. I look forward to when Gary Allan comes back to Denver! Can't wait to see him again.

  • Know Country, Know Gary Allan

    by BubbyTermath88 on 8/10/09Ogden Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

So, not all of us country fans subscribe to the old tawngy country of the black-and-white days. No offense to that generation, but a different time is here. This would be the fifth different venue of seen Allan at and the fifth different reamrkable performance! A must see. The location, the Ogden Theatre, was unbareably hot, though. Hotter than the average venue. No air circulation whatsoever.

  • HOT!!!!

Bring this man back to the Ogden at least once a year and we will be there every time. He put's on one heck of an amazing show. Thank you so much for not cancelling our Colorado show even though you guy's had every reason too after the hell you all went through. God Bless you Gary Allan......

  • Loved Gary Allan

by Cripsy on 8/9/09Ogden Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was so flippin awesome! I have seen Gary Allan several times and every time he is amazing. I love his music and his energy that he has on stage. Love the jeans! There was only one thing that was uncomfortable during the concert and that was the Ogden was so hot. Almost like they didn't have any air conditioning. But that had nothing to do with Gary and Jamey. I would pay to see them any time. Both were very good. Loved it!

  • Gary Allan rocked my world!!!!!!!!!!!!

by LivingHard on 8/9/09Ogden Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

We just saw Gary Allan Friday night at the Ogden in Denver and his show blew my mind! I already knew he was an amazing artist that's a no brainer, but to see him in a very small venue, up close and personal you really see how passinate he is about his music. He really seemed to be having a great time on stage, and enjoying the crowd. His band was fun especially with their attire. Loved the kilt, and " That 70's Show " guy " What a riot! When you wake up in the morning with a slight headache, and your voice is hoarse from screaming and singing at the top of your lungs the night before, you know you had a great time. I hope Gary comes again very soon because I will DEFINITELY buy my tickets the minute they go on sale!! I think I should write the CMA's and ask them why Gary Allan hasn't been nominated for Entertainer of The Year? He's got our vote.

  • Gary Allan was OK

by StarstruckDenver on 8/9/09Ogden Theatre - DenverRating: 3 out of 5

Not a huge fan of the Ogden as a venue. More importantly, Gary could have played much longer and he left out some of his best, early hits - Smoke Rings in the Dark, Man to Man, etc. That was disappointing. However, he sounded good overall.

Gary Allan gave Denver the music prize of the sumer. In spite of the extreem heat in the Ogden Theater he put on a show I would gladly see again an I wasn't a Gary Allan fan before this concert.

  • Gary Allan is awesome, Ogden Theatre, not so much!

by Kellogg on 8/8/09Ogden Theatre - DenverRating: 4 out of 5

Gary Allan was amazing! Jamey Johnson opened for him and got us going. What a better way to get the party started. Then when Gary Allan came out he was great. Ogden Theatre would be great if it was a smaller crowd. There was no air flow and it was hard to function. Now, for Gary Allan and Jamey Johnson, it was worth it, but it would have been a better experience if it was not 120 degrees in the building! Gary Allan is sexy and well worth the heat though!

  • gary allen was incredible!

by drivingfast on 8/8/09Heartland Events Center - Grand IslandRating: 5 out of 5

Gary was very energized. He spoke about the fact all of his equipment was borrowed becasue of tornado that destroyed their equipment in Canada. He also tossed out guitar picks to the audience. Of course the only ones who recieved them were people on the floor seats. The seating could of been better at the event center. Very cramped. hard to imagine what next year will be like when state fair comes along and they have twice as many people at the event!

  • very good

by lucy62 on 8/8/09Heartland Events Center - Grand IslandRating: 4 out of 5

Thank you for bringing the star to Grand Island. Only comment music to loud, not able to hear the words being sung. I guess I am use to the CD type entertainment. One comment, why serve booze. If those people want to drink have them go to a bar, and listen to music, they are not at the concert to see, and watch the artist. The drinker are a disturbance for us all. And the drunken lady in the front row, what is that.

  • Gary Allan....the man, the myth, the legend!

by JaimeJohnson on 8/8/09Ogden Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

Jamey Johnson asks in one of his songs, "Who is going to fill their shoes" (referring to the country singers of old)....Well, the answer, Mr. Johnson, is Gary Allan! Not only is he a real performer with a definite heart for music, he really seems to have a heart for his audience! Despite the hardships this man has gone through, he continues to use his music as inspiration for himself and his listeners.

  • Gary Allen rocks!

    by TKP7 on 8/8/09Ogden Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

Gary Allen put on an awesome show! Seeing him at the Ogdon is a real treat.

  • Gary Allan at the Ogden

by Rachyvballs on 8/8/09Ogden Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

Seeing Gary Allan live is always worth every penny. He's a fabulous performer and keeps the crowd totally involved the whole time - and the Ogden is the perfect setting for that! I have seen him in Denver multiple times, and each time is better than the last!
