"I ain't really happy," sings Gary Allan on "Get Off on the Pain," the down-home masterstroke that begins and provides the name for his new MCA Nashville collection, "until the sky starts driving rain." Unhesitatingly frank, mercilessly guitar-crazed, it's the rocked-out country confession of a smart guy drawn to what the rest of the world calls wrong roads and long shots, or complains of as aching bones and stubbornness, or — as Allan sings in a spectacular stretch of drawn-out soulful vowels — underestimates as dark horses. And as the California-born superstar releases his eighth studio album, it's about the most Gary Allan piece anyone could imagine.

Took my husband to see Gary Allan last night at Harrah's Rincon Open Sky Theater. AMAZINGI Gary is full of energy and sounds as good as his CDs. This was my second show in the past year and I am loking forward to the release of his new album, which we got a sneak peak of his first single, and his next tour. Thanks Gary for an awesome night under the stars!
The concert was rockin' and Gary Allan put on an amzing show. I would recommend him to anyone, great artist.
Went to see Gary last night. It is an outside theatre and the weather was perfect for the event. My boyfriend was the one that had mentioned going to see him. I thought, "alright, if he wants to" I am so glad we went. You can tell the fans are important to Gary. I actually was surprised how many of his songs I knew..I had no idea he sang alot of them, so it was awesome. His energy is infectious...and ladies, He is HOT! He has a beautiful smile and eyes, and I love his tattoos! Over all, I would highly reccomend seeing him. You'll be glad you did!
One of the best concerts that I have been to in many years. Gary Allan loves to entertain his patrons. He is so comfortable and welcoming to his fans. His band was just incredible. You gotta love that California boy!
The night was perfect for a great concert. But security not allowing you to stand during a concert!!! Come on!!!! Gary was great he always is... but the concert seemed short.
It was a great place to see a show. Gary Allan was amazing. The crowd was great and he played for two hours. I would definitely see another show at Harrahs Rincon.
Nice venue at Harrah's Rincon Open Skye Theater. However, after the drum and guitar interlude, it seemed that the volume of the instruments was increased, so that when Gary took the stage again, his voice microphone was not as easily heard, and that's what we came for. This also occurred at the last concert venue where I went to see Gary. I'm glad that by the time I bought tickets for this event that I was relegated to seating farther from the stage. It was just TOO loud. I understand that it should be loud, but "loud" has degrees, and it could have been toned down a bit. Great show, though, and I go to see him whenever he's performing in the near area.
Gary Allan was awesome. He definietly knows how to rock! The concert was amazing. Gary is a great performer. It was a very personable and intimate concert!
Gary's awesome as usual! Even with borrowed equipment Gary and his band always put on a great show. He always includes the audience and that makes us feel special. Like he's there just for us!
Gary Allan has matured, is comfortable with his whole being of entertaining. He sang from his not yet published CD, plus his already familiar recorded music. They played on begged and borrowed and few new instruments, since they lost their equipment to the tornado in Canada when the stage collapsed and blew away. We really like Gary.
What a talented entertainer. I love his songs and would definately see him again!
I have seen Gary a few times before, but this night was fantastic. The open air venue was spectacular. Gary looked terrific and sounded amazing!
I took my brother to Gary Allan for his birthday and he said it was the best present, ever! Not only did he love the show, Gary was throwing guitar picks and my brother caught one!!! I bought standing room/center stage tickets (the cheapest ones offered) and we were so close it was unbelievable! The cheap tickets got us up close and personal- less than 15 feet away from Gary! I would definitely attend shows at this venue, again! Just keep in mind that the seated tickets were not close and had to watch from a monitor AND they cost more than standing (unless you REALLY dont want to stand). The venue is very intimate- the seating chart made it look bigger than it was but Im not complaining! I'd say 50yds by 30yds, give or take.
I am a LONG time fan of Gary Allan. I saw him for the first time last year at AT&T Park and was fortunate enough to get seats close to the stage. Well that was nothing compared to last night! This venue, San Jose Civic Ctr., provided the PERFECT intimate place to see ANY artist that you love. Seeing him THAT CLOSE (10 feet?) was mind-boggling. It made me love him EVEN MORE, if that's possible. He truly is a great entertainer, he connects with the crowd with ease, he is so much fun, and so gorgeous and so sexy, and I can't wait to see him next Friday in Kelseyville. The San Jose Civic Center was an awesome place, it had clean bathrooms, courteous staff, and it was easy to get to. Thank you Gary for coming to San Jose!!!
I have been a Gary Allan fan for years. He is by far the most underated entertainer in "County Music". I guess that is a good thing because in Northern California he still plays smaller venues and the San Jose Civic was a perfect place for Gary to perform. The crowd was small but that enabled most all of us a great view, he is after all a ver sexy man. He sounds just as good live as he does on a CD. One would never know that the guitars used in this concert were not the ones Gary and the band have used for years - those were destroyed in a freak accident a few weeks ago. Gary Allan and his band just get better and better!
Gary puts on a good show. He only plays songs that the crowd knows.
GREAT! Great! great! great! great! really great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Simply AMAZING concert Gary was by far one of my best concerts this year!!!!!!
The San Jose Civid Auditorium is small and most people were standing in the general admission area, center. Gary Allen sounded great! He played a lot of favorites and one new song from his newly completed album.
