About

Galantis is the dance music project of Christian Karlsson (aka Bloodshy). RIAA gold-certified debut album Pharmacy reached No. 1 on the Billboard Dance album chart on the strength of platinum-certified single "Peanut Butter Jelly" and 3x platinum certified smash "Runaway (U & I)" - the latter of which earned a GRAMMY nomination for "Best Dance Recording" - while 2017's sophomore album The Aviary (featuring 2x platinum-certified single "No Money") saw a top 10 debut in 23 countries. The third Galantis album, 2020's Church, featured the chart-topping gold-certified single "Faith" with country music icon Dolly Parton featuring Mr. Probz, which saw a #1 debut on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Chart before quickly reaching #1 on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay Chart where it remained for 5 weeks. Meanwhile, gold-certified collaborative single "Heartbreak Anthem" with David Guetta & Little Mix proved a global sensation, spending 10 weeks on the Billboard Global 200 chart and 13 consecutive weeks in the top 10 on the UK Official Chart. Latest album, Rx, is Karlsson's most deeply personal creation to date - featuring pop banger "Lighter" with Guetta and 5 Seconds of Summer which landed No.1 on the US Dance Radio chart. Galantis has received over 7.3 billion cumulative worldwide streams and over 1.9 billion video views to date.

Karlsson has been at the helm of Galantis since 2009 before officially debuting the project at 2014's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. His career has spanned across the musical genres of punk-rock, hip-hop and pop - including work as one half of acclaimed production duo Bloodshy & Avant and one third of indie pop band Miike Snow. Karlsson's songwriting/production credits have included the likes of Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Katy Perry and extensive work with Britney Spears (including "Toxic" which earned a GRAMMY for "Best Dance Recording" and her widely acclaimed 2007 album Blackout). As Galantis, he has crafted remixes for the likes of Coldplay, Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith & more. Declared "pop's mastermind producer" by UPROXX, "eternally effervescent" by Billboard and "one of the most influential and untamed voices in modern music" by GRAMMY.com, the Swedish-born artist continues to evolve and push the boundaries of songwriting within the world of dance music and beyond.

  • Big let down

by Zach on 11/16/23Big Night Live - BostonRating: 1 out of 5

jam-packed venue, could barely move. Doors at 9:30, Galantis went on around midnight, and then just did like a DJ set? Not a good one either. Left early after hearing maybe 3 galantis songs in the first hour of the set.

  • Not great opening DJs

by Juan on 11/16/23Big Night Live - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Glantis was amazing, but the DJs from 9:30 pm to 12:30 am were not the best. I would have preferred to have an itinerary and that way decide when to show up.

  • Way too crowded

by LV on 11/15/23Big Night Live - BostonRating: 2 out of 5

It was way too crowded. The Venue obviously oversold the show

  • Would go again!

by Hippyflip on 11/13/23Echostage - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

I really enjoyed echostage, this was my first time ever going to this venue and I was not disappointed!! The energy was phenomenal, the only things that was annoying was that you can’t re-enter the building should you need to leave.

  • Definitely will go again !

Life changing. My first biggest rave and it was perfect

Wonderful venue to see one of my favorite artists! Bigger and nicer than I expected!

  • "VIP" Experience?

by Brizzledrawnout on 3/11/20Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 2 out of 5

I arrived at the venue about 5 minutes early (7:25pm). Early entry for VIPs should have been starting at 7:30pm. The LiveNation staff directed my mom and I past the transit tracks to a rather dark alley where a line should have been. I had to go back and ask where they wanted us to go because a line was not formed yet. So there we were in 40 degree Fahrenheit with rather strong wind in a dark alley. I'm really starting to feel like a VIP. I went back up to the front of the venue at 7:33pm to ask when they were going to take the VIPs in. One of the guys said that they were doing their pre-event meeting (I was thinking "Shouldn't you all have done that like half an hour ago?"). It got to 7:48p and they finally let people with early entry in. As far as I saw, it was just me and my mom which left the dozens of others in the dark, cold alley. We got inside the venue (finally) and the VIP lady kindly greeted us. She gave us our goodie bag and laminate and directed us towards security. Security was an absolute breeze! I got to leave everything in my pockets! We went up the stairs to the main floor and stood around before the masses came in. Once we saw a good amount of people trickle in, we headed for the front row. Shrem performed first and HE ABSOLUTELY KILLED IT! I have never heard of him, but his remixes and originals were fire! His set was very long and at 10pm, we had to make the sad decision to abandon our front row viewing to get to the meet and greet portion at 10:15p. Not long after 10p, SG Lewis performed while us "VIPs" were one floor below waiting close to an hour to be escorted to the meet and greet. When we finally got to the dressing room to see the guys, it was an amazing experience! They were so kind and genuine. I brought my "Pharmacy" and "The Aviary" vinyl album covers to be signed and they did not hesitate to sign them for me despite the email that was sent earlier in the week that "due to time restrictions, they will not be able to sign personal things". The reason I bought the M&G tickets were for genuine conversation and to get my albums signed. Because both happened, I am happy about this portion of the concert. The only downside was that the M&G was really just a "Meet". I say this because we were in the dressing room with them for maybe one minute. There was no time to Greet. Going back to the email we received earlier in the week; we were devastated when we heard that the Aragon was going back on their promise for a VIP cash bar and viewing area and not being able to get anything signed by the guys. The thing about the bar is that LiveNation was hosting a VIP bar area for folks that paid extra on the night of the event. Not only that, but this area was not free to us M&G ticket holders that paid over $200/ticket! It was listed on Ticketmaster that the VIP cash bar and viewing area was going to be included and they say something different one week before showtime. OUTRAGEOUS!! SG Lewis played more of a DJ set than his own songs in their original form which was kind of a bummer. Luckily, we didn't waste our time just experiencing his set, but rather lost our front row spots in order to so the M&G with Galantis. What is the point of early entry if we are going to have to leave our spot we got because we got in early? Anyways, once the literal one minute meetup with Galantis was done, we went to the coat room to store all of the stuff. PRO TIP: THE COAT CHECK WILL HOLD ALL OF YOUR MERCH FOR FREE. IT WAS $5/JACKET DURING THIS EVENT. I did not want to push through the crowds to attain a mediocre spot in the middle of everything, so we stood pretty far back. It was a pretty good view, but not as goo as the FRONT ROW position that we had to give up. >:( I have to say, the Galantis set was absolutely AMAZING! The set teased my favorite song "Peanut Butter Jelly" during the whole thing and didn't play the entire song until close to the end. Overall, I got what I came for. It was a lot of music for the price if you bought GA for $40. I can't help but feel a bit ripped off by the "VIP" experience as a whole, though. I felt more like cattle going to slaughter than a VIP for that entire evening.

  • Worst concert I'e ever been to by far

    by R.C. on 3/10/20Rating: 1 out of 5

I'm a huge fan of galantis and loved their new album, so I was excited to see them live! Doors opened at 8pm in Chicago @ Aragon and opening act didn't start till 9:30ish. Opener 1: "Sherm" was pretty solid, especially the 2nd half of the set. Oh great its finally 10:30 and galantis is coming on right? (Nope!) Instead its SG Lewis! Let me tell you, this was the worst DJ I've even seen or heard. Sherm (opener 1) got the crowd going and SG Lewis killed the vibe. I can't exaggerate how bad he was. There were a few times he "remixed" what I thought was a ghost screaming for 2 min straight. It legit hurt my ears. He was also mixing random noises of what sounded like pots and pans falling. One of my friends was like "weird flex but okay." I was part of a group of 6 and everyone felt the same. The worst part.. this went on for an entire hour! Every time we thought he was done, he'd step back do some bad dance moves and come back to mixing music that no one was dancing to. The concert didn't start till 11:30! I'm not at a club, when u say a concert is going to open doors at 8, I thought 11:30 was a ridiculous time to start for the main act. I left, and didn't even stay for galantis. I asked the crowd who stuck it out how it was. They said Galantis barely played their album and mixed a bunch of random stuff that wasn't theirs. I could have had a nice bottle of bourbon or gone out to a nice restaurant instead spending money on this event. Huge Galantis fan, but awful concert experience.

  • Show was great but...

    by J. G. on 3/10/20Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

Show was great but the entry was annoyingly difficult. Tickets were scanned in as already claimed when we had just arrived with no one having access to my account then sending the tickets didn’t work

  • Awful

    by C. J. on 3/10/20Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 1 out of 5

Sound was terrible at Aragon, and galantis was awful. Bad mixing, bad song choice, don’t need to see them again.

  • Show was greeeat!

by Zap on 3/10/20Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Even though i continue to hate the aragon they blew the roof off that place. If you havent seen them you are truly missing out

  • AMAZING!!!

by Clariana on 3/10/20Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Galantis never disappoints!!! As much as I wanted to hear new music from their new album, I will take this show. I love their music & they really know how to make it Lit!! Can’t wait to see them at EDC Las Vegas again!

  • Opener2long

by Dk on 3/10/20Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

Galantis themselves were fun and good but woof two hours of bad openers can be a buzzkill especially when the venue charges $15/beer

  • Okay, I guess

    by M. S. on 3/10/20Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

2 hours of opening acts was definitely overkill. Galantis was great, but annoying that they didn’t come on until after 11:15pm.

  • Terrible

    by D. S. on 3/9/20Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 1 out of 5

Band didn't show up until after midnight. There was more than one warm up act---which would be fine, if we had known to expect it. Felt bad---people were so upset that they were booing the second warm up (official warm up) act because they were tired of waiting nearly 3+ hours. 3+ hours of warm ups is ridiculous. Big problem was that the crowd was drunk and rowdy--getting restless because the band was SO LATE--so they made it so unpleasant to wait any longer that we just ended up leaving at midnight---missed Galantis completely. Such a bummer. Worst concert experience ever and was REALLY looking forward to the show.

  • Barely played new album

    by J. B. on 3/7/20Rating: 4 out of 5

Went to Aragon last night and while I love Galantis (got tix to both Friday & Saturday night) I was super bummed they didn’t play all the new songs from Church and instead they had a lot of filler techno songs from the 2000’s. Still put on a great show but wished they stayed in their own lane... they have enough of their own music to play for hours.

  • Amazing Event!

by E. P. on 3/3/20Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first Galantis concert and first concert at Bill Graham Civic Center. I enjoyed pretty much everything about it- entrance was easy/fast, the venue was clean with plenty of access to water, and best of all- the music/visuals were amazing! Had such a great time and would definitely go again. The only thing is that the dance floor does get pretty crowded and people started pushing pretty aggressively to move through the crowd.

  • Galantis SF 2/28

by Samuel on 3/3/20Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 3 out of 5

Event was amazing as usual. I go to EDM events at Bill Graham every month & the lines are never bad, but this time it was horrible. They had the whole side walk of it blocked off so you had to go across the street to another long line that was several blocks long wrapping around Civic Center Plaza, just to cross the street and get in the ID check & Security lines. Please go back to the regular setup, it was fine the way it was & wasn't a nightmare lol.
