very disappointed. Would like to know who would be in the lineup before purchasing tickets. Disappointed Mark Lowery and Michael English were not there. David Was great but only able to identify by voice. Wish David had more solos or the Gaither Reunited group was singing. Left during the intermission. Will not return to concert at BJCC.

  • A Blessed Evening

by 1BamaBacker on 12/14/15Legacy Arena at The BJCC - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

The talent gathered on the stage last Friday night was amazing. Individually each artist or group could be a headliner for a gospel music concert. The highlight of the performance was the Gaither Vocal band. This edition is outstanding. Together, they all made the almost four hour performance a must see for gospel fans. The Gaither Homecoming Christmas is truly a spectacular. Add to that the humorous barbs of Kevin Williams toward Bill Gaither and it made for a fun and spirit filled evening. They had a nice mix of each group or single artist's hits and Christmas music. Although, being a Christmas show they should have had a few more Christmas songs. Overall the evening was a musical blessing.

  • Got our money's worth of music

by Hwaynesr on 12/14/15Legacy Arena at The BJCC - BirminghamRating: 4 out of 5

Overall, this was a very impressive performance and some of the individual performances were just astounding. Seeing the 7PM start time for the concert, we thought we would be out by 9 or 9:30 at the latest. Were we ever surprised when the intermission took place at about 9:15, and we didn't get out until after 10:30. The pace of the concert was a little slow at times and some of the performances went on a little too long as the performers seemed bent on showing how they could go to ever higher notes. The Gaither Vocal Band is spectacular all the performers were excellent and the performances by David Phelps and Wes Hampton were particularly impressive. David Phelps' O Holy Night rendition was amazing. His breath control and range are unbelievable. Other than the pace being a little slow and some performers hogging the spotlight for too long, my only other complaint is that for a Christmas Spectacular the number of Christmas songs was very low. I would say that only a fourth to a third of the songs had a Christmas theme. This was our first Gaither concert, but it won't be our last.

  • Great show, but very uncomfortable.

The Gaither Christmas Homecoming at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham Alabama on Dec. 11, 2015 was what I expected and more, however the "more" wasn't so pleasant. The show itself was spectacular, including the Vocal band's music, and the additional Homecoming Music Guests, but my seats were on the arena floor 17 rows from the stage, and the chairs were all extremely too close. The big gentleman next to me was practically laying on my shoulder, and I happened to notice that was the situation for many...touching shoulder to shoulder for all that were sitting on the Arena floor area in chairs. Overlooking the misery, I did leave there with a wonderful Christmas musical experience in my heart!

  • Awesome concert!

Although we felt like the only young folks in the whole entire arena, we love this concert! If you love gospel music and have a love for the Lord, you will enjoy this. Several singers came out and sang several different songs. It really put you in the Christmas spirit and made you reflect on what this Christmas season is really all about. Highly recommend!

Fantastic event....Very moving and the talent was great as usual. Though they did not have full orchestra accompaniment the musicians were very good and talented.

This show was wonderful. There was beautiful music, it was funny, and it was touching. I took my 83 yr. old mother who thoroughly enjoyed it also.

The concert was great, but I do wish there had been more Christmas songs considering the concert name was "Christmas Spectacular".

A Gaither Concert is always something to look forward to. I know that I am going to get hours of music from very talented artists. And - this was exactly what I got. All of the soloists and groups were excellent.

Another great concert from Bill Gaither. Almost 4 hours of Gospel music at it's best with The Issiac's, the Nelan's, the Gaither Vocal Band & others. Dynamite performance by all of the performers & of course Kevin Williams with his humor & barbs at Bill. I

  • Talented!

    by Bev11 on 12/13/15BancorpSouth Arena - TupeloRating: 4 out of 5

The Gaithers Christmas was beautiful. Some of the music was worshipful and touched our souls. Some was a performance and we appreciated the God-given talent. Enjoyed the humor, too, it was the right amount for the right taste. Our regret was that for a concert that was billed as a Christmas venue, only about one-third was Christmas. Please put more carols into it. We drove two hours one way to listen to what we thought would be a majority of Christmas music.

  • vocal band was fantastic

Bill Gaither still does an amazing job putting together a memorable concert. The new vocal band is the best ever.
