  • Philly Funk arrives in San Diego

by Adam on 8/29/25Rating: 5 out of 5

3/2/25 G. Love & Special Sauce played a sold out show to an enthusiastic crowd. They brought their blend of Philadelphia funk and blues to my favorite San Diego spot. I met a bunch of cool people up on the rail, some who know the opener Ron Artis II who is from Haleiwa, HI. The grooves were thick with G. Love at the wheel and held together with the tight rhythm section Jeffrey "Houseman"Clemens on drums and Jim "Jimi Jazz"Prescott on the stand up bass. "Never miss a Sunday show".

  • Great tunes, great venue

by JC on 7/25/24The Queen - WilmingtonRating: 5 out of 5

    G. Love sounded great and played a good mix of new songs and old favorites. It was wonderful seeing the Special Sauce in such an intimate venue as The Queen, plus Mihali and Brett Dennen were a great warmup.

  • Worst band I have ever seen and heard

    by C. C. on 6/25/23Rating: 1 out of 5

Terrible if Train wasn’t the headliner me and my group would have left. It was pure agony

  • G. Love and Special Sauce brought the tasty recipe!

by Brian Oman on 4/4/23The Echo Lounge & Music Hall - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

I've been a fan since 94', and the reasons remain the same. A wholly unique genre (hip-hop blues, etc.), delivered with mesmerising showmanship and musicianship. G. really connects with the audience like none other, and the Sauce follows his lead, delivering a thunderous support. The strong mix of classic hits, mixed with fresh new joints keeps me coming back for more. This was my first time at Echo Lounge, and will now keep it on my radar as a venue to watch.

  • G Love echo lounge

by Tim on 4/3/23The Echo Lounge & Music Hall - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

Great show, very entertaining. Played a lot of the old hits. Cool venue, very intimate. Had some fairly serious sounds issues. Band lost their monitors, also seemed to loose vocals close to the stage. Seemed to have figured it out, but not so sure, vocals were difficult to hear all night. Guest guitarist for a song or two was amazing, but way too loud. Over powered the rest of the band and really could not hear the vocals
