Future Islands are a band whose brilliance was always hiding in plain sight. One viral moment might have catapulted them to worldwide recognition, but they were just doing what they always did - pouring their heart and soul into every moment, and channelling art's great power to spread love and hope. It was, quite simply, who they are. Long, hard years on the road, and the sense of constantly traveling away from something, have shaped the band many ways, both spiritually and physically. Always leaving, never arriving, the horizon an impossible destination to be chased but never caught. Future Islands' new album As Long As You Are is out now on 4AD.
Such a great show at least in my top 5 hands down.
Absolutely killer performance and the energy level was so high throughout the entire show. It was my first concert in the USA, as I’m from Canada and I fell in love with the atmosphere and the audience were very respectful. This show was a memorable one!
As always—Future Islands put on a wonderful performance. However, the sound mixing was dreadful.
Incredible sound and energy every time. The lead singer is soaked through by the 3rd song and is all over the stage. He connects so well with the audience and the bands sound drives energy!
Honestly the worst band I ever saw. Couldn’t hear nothing he was saying. Everyone was making fun of them cause no one understood the singer. Everyone was having to look up lyrics. Do not recommend seeing them unless they have a great headliner.
I only recently discovered Future Islands, so I felt a little late to the party. However, my expectations were pleasantly surpassed as they brought the performance HARD! I have not seen many lead vocalists perform with as much vigor and he made nearly the entire place engaged in dance, singing, and movement. The whole ambience was positive and uplifting.
Future islands was amazing live. The frontman is electric. However, there were multiple sound issues at the venue (Salt Shed in Chicago) that resulted in really loud audio interference. Overall enjoyable experience and if salt shed fixes their audio issues the venue is so cool
As always Future Island laid it all on the table. Deeper rocked too. But the sound system was just horrible at Salt Shed - so muddy I couldn’t hear the detail of STH’s voice and the music. 5 stars for FI and 1 for SS. I am bummed as I like the venue but don’t want to pay for crappy sound. Saw FI at Anthem in DC twice and sound was crystal so it can be done well!
Saw future islands at the salt shed. Samuel T. Herring is always an incredible force and the band sounded so great in the venue. I love the premium seating, definitely worth it for a great concert experience
Couldn't of asked for anymore from these guys. Great sound. Great showmanship. Great band. Amazing show!
