About

From Ashes to New In Concert

When Matt Brandyberry was growing up, he had designs on being a rapper, but he also played in a rock band. Years later, when the vocalist began writing music and seized the opportunity to start his own group, he decided to combine both of these talents. The resulting band, From Ashes to New, has quickly become one of hard rock's leading lights, largely due to their savvy combination of influences.

The band's two albums — 2016's 'Day One' and 2018's 'The Future' — boast Linkin Park-esque nu-metal with hip-hop-influenced vocals and dizzying electronic textures, as well as moments hewing toward more straightforward rock 'n' roll with blazing guitars and urgent tempos. The results are contemporary-sounding and fresh, which no doubt explains why the band has enjoyed chart success. The 2015 single "Through It All" peaked at No. 6 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart, while "Crazy" landed at No. 3 on the same chart in July 2018.

Brandyberry founded From Ashes to New in 2013 with other musicians from the Lancaster, Pennsylvania, music scene. Although the band's lineup has shifted over the years, the quartet today has settled into a confident groove, thanks in no small part to the singer's main vocal foil, Danny Case, who alternates between melodic singing and guttural growls.

Live, From Ashes to New's double-vocalist approach takes center stage. In fact, the two men stand up front, bark out their vocals with confidence, and serve as anchors for the hard-charging instrumentalists.

In 2018, the band teamed up with Bad Wolves for the What's In Your Head tour, and was also one of the openers on the Breaking Benjamin and Five Finger Death Punch co-headlining arena tour. From Ashes to New more than held their own, which puts the band in a great position to expand their fan base and continue to grow.

Venue was packed but everyone seemed to be having a good time. FATN were 10 out of 10, amazing! Not Enough Space and Until I Wake were both great. Magnolia Park was meh..

  • Awesome show

All 4 bands did an awesome job. The show was amazing. Baltimore soundstage though small is always a good time. My only gripe about the show was political views were brought up. And that isnt a place to speak about political beliefs, people paid for a concert not someone's opinion.

This was my first time at Aura. It's a very small intimate venue. We had a really good time. The bands were great and the bartenders and staff were exceptional.
