I brought the tickets for my daughter and son-in-law's anniversary and they said that it was the best time that they have had in a very long time. They came back to pick up their kids with the biggest grins on their faces. I would say that it was money well spent!
Freddie was amazing, his voice was so powerful, just as I remembered it. I had the best time ever, I hope he returns to Detroit again, I will definitely buy tickets if he does.
Freddy Jackson tore it up...I loved Blue Magic and the rest of the event was amazing
I set out to give my wife a lovely Mother’s Day weekend in AC with shopping, dinner, gambling and the Freddy Jackson show which was the highlight of the weekend. We had a well needed great time in AC and the show topped it off. Only thing I didn’t like was how the artist was told they are out of time while they were performing and rushed off the stage.
Freddie Jackson put on a very good show. He is a talented singer and a great showman! I would not mind going to an event of his again. A great treat for Mother's Day.
Freddie Jackson did his thing and sounded better then ever. The crowd was loving him and he was giving the crowd just as much love back. I would recommend to anyone if Freddie is coming anywhere close to you, go check him out, you will be glad you did.
If you are thinking of attending a Freddie Jackson performance, save your time and money! Freddie has not only lost weight, his voice is gone also. Despite the heroic efforts of his backup singers and band to mitigate Freddie's obvious inability to hit the notes on his standards, this concert was the worst! Freddie's crude comments, joke attempts, and crazy on-stage gyrations didn't help, either. Not only that, but the venue, The Birchmere in Alexandria VA, has hit a new low in the quality of available menu items. Unless you harbor a death wish to succumb to the effects of greasy, tasteless, and over-priced food, eat before or after you attend a concert here. Unbelievably, there were seemingly hoards of adoring female fans in the sold-out crowd, who either have hearing problems, poor taste, or just don't care.
My husband and I went to see Freddie Jackson at the Birchmere this past Friday night and I can say that this hands down was one of the best shows I have ever been to. The venue was nice and intimate, and Freddie's performance was amazing. He's funny, highly energetic, and sounds wonderful. After all these years (30+) in the business, the man has not lost a step. Definitely a must see!!!
The show was fantastic! The venue gave the audience a very upfront and personal evening with Freddy. Freddy himself was very intimate with the crowd. His selection of songs blended with personal stories and comic antics was priceless. The highlight of the evening was when Freddy walked through the audience getting closer than close. Great show!!!
the birchmere was packed!!!! He did well and had a great band. He was funny too but ... When he sang his biggest hit "you are my lady" I wasn't really sure what was happening .. It was all wrong and unintelligible .. Maybe he was tired as that was the last song of the night
This guy was far more than I expected. Very sincere in his music and personality. I do agree with him>What took you so long, Birchmere!!! I appreciated his talent before, but I respect it now too. Freddie was real! His music was real! His talent was really really real! I know he was performing but he made you feel as if he was singing those songs directly to you. Bravo Mr Jackson! Bravo!
Freddie jackson was excellent he have a great performance
Angela Winbush did great. On the other hand, Freddie Jackson was terrible. He did not sing the songs through, just bits came out. He also was too dramatic. My friends did not enjoy it as well. It was a waste of time and money.
Freddie Jackson has aged gracefully but looks very thin compared to his 80s appearance. He told the audience his proud he was able to lose 107 lbs. and said he feels healthier than ever. His voice sounded true and his riffs strong. He is every bit the performer and consistently engaged his audience throughout the night. Angela Winbush opened for him and looked and sounded great! She danced around the stage like a 20something. It was the perfect Valentine's Day event. I felt bad when the promoter came out and admonished the audience because it was not a sold out show, showing little class. What is showed was his lack of marketing and promotion. But, Freddie Jackson took the stage, put him in his place and said "This is my audience!" before going on to do a terrific show for those of us in attendance. We also enjoyed the Saginaw Dow Theatre venue as intimate and easily accessible for our first time there. Easy drive to venue from northern Detroit suburbs Would go back to venue for future events and encourage others to see Freddie anywhere he plays. We did a meet and greet after the show which made it very special and Freddie was a true gentleman.
My main purpose for attending the show was to see Freddie Jackson, but Angela Winbush showed up and showed out!! She looked and sound amazing!! I had forgotten all the hit songs she had. She could have easily been the headliner! SPECTACULAR SHOW Ms. Winbush! I've seen (the new) Freddie two other times before. So I knew he would do his thang and do it well. It was initially obvious that the 100 pound weight loss was a shock to the audience who hadn't seen him in a while, but that voice was still mesmerizing ! Freddie looks great and sounds even better. It was great spending my Valentine day in their audience. Excellent show! Thanks for coming to Saginaw, Michigan! Hope to see you both again soon!
The lineup was very good. Some performers overdid their time. The event did not draw a great deal of people probably because it was not organized well. We had great seats, second row the real problem was we were 4 seats from the end. The music and large speakers were EXTREMELY LOUD causing us to put pieces of paper towels in our ears. The music resonated so heavily that it caused our ears to ring and those that were around us felt the same way.
All the performers were extremely enjoyable and the DJ's music was off the 'hook'.
I enjoyed the whole show. Melba, Freddie, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes and the Intruders were all awesome. I just wish the Intruders had as much time to perform as the other people because I loved them the best. Their harmony was spot on and they looked and danced great as well. I also loved that they featured each singer separately as well as singing as a group. They all had so much talent. Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes sounded great, looked great and danced great too! It took me back to kinder and gentler days. Melba, Freddie and the opening singer all had wonderful voices as well; but the Intruders were my favorite. A really good show!!!!!!!! I really appreciated the fact that they all wanted to meet the audience. They were all nice people.
The Men Soul exceeded all my expectations. The showmanship talent and overall performances of Howard Hewitt, Freddy Jackson, Peabo Bryson, and Jeffrey Osbourne was on level that can not be put into words!!!
