Purchased tickets expecting to see Chubby Checker by himself, found out later that Frankie Avalon was going to be on the show. Chubby was fantastic, high energy show,he sounds great, lots of fun. Frankie is a lot like a Vegas lounge act, he's very likable, but not very exciting, would have preferred more Chubby, less Frankie!
first, id give chubby checker 4 stars. hes still in good voice, still moving around a bit, looks really good for his age, and puts on a very decent show. when i bought these tickets, it was only listed as a chubby checker show, couple weeks later, they added frankie avalon as the headliner. frankie does his best with what hes got to work with, he has a decent band, he plays a lot of other peoples hits, and a couple of his songs, of which venus was the only good one. he ought to be doing lounge shows in laughlin. he caters to the 90 year old crowd. spends too much time moaning about times changing, how great the good old days were. i was there for a lot of them, they werent that great frankie!!! thank god for those beach blanket movies or youd be on the bread line somewhere.
it was Good to see the last of two of the greatest icons in Rock-N-Roll history, Chubby Checker whom Voice Still Sounds the same as the record I hear, And The Big Kahoona himself, Franky Avalon, Singing his Biggest Hit, "Venus", I wish to see More Shows like this, So rare to see nowadays.
Exelent expirience...great music...full house....I would like to assist to more concerts...
Frankie sings all the hits. Tells funny stories and engages with the audience.
Glad there wasnt a bunch of peopke standing up dancing. We could see well and thoroughly enjoyed it. Frankie and Chubby still perform!
My wife and I enjoyed a great show by these two Legends and also a hassle free ticketless entry by phone. Chubby Checker and Frankie Avalon are a part of our past and we're happy to be able to enjoy them once again. Thank you.
Great show, he sounded just like his records! He sang a lot of his hits as well as the hits of other famous rockin' rollers such as one of my favorites, Ricky Nelson. Frankie Avalon puts on an amazing show and showed lots of videos and slide shows of his family, his past, and others! He even comes off the stage into the audience to sing and shake hands! I loved it!
The 50's and beyond was totally amazing. Can't wait until next year!
Bobby Rydell, Chubby Checker and Frankie Avalon still got it after all these years. They put on a great show. Their opening act was terrific too, The Cameos belting out 15 hits from previous performers. Great acts.
Fabulous 50’s and Beyond at the Wildwood Convention Center in New Jersey was a huge success with 2 1/2 hours of fantastic music and showmanship starring The Cameos,Mr. Wildwood himself Bobby Rydell, Chubby Checker, Frankie Avalon and a wonderful Wildwood 17 yr old who is definitely going up in this world. Another great year from all the volunteers of the Wildwoods who dedicate their time in putting together a show like this for the past 15 years. Looking forward to 2019 lineup.
Every performer left nothing in the dressing room. They gave us more than the cost of the tickets. The venue was better than the local casinos both price and access to the hall. Looking forward to next years show.
We go almost every year and we saw Frankie last year and it was the same show. Shame that Bobby Rydell was hurt but enjoyed him The spotlight was blinding people in the audience and Chubby was hard to hear
We sat on the side, section b2. The sound system people had no clue what they were doing. In most cases we did not hear the lead singer until late in the song. You really should hire professionals to do this. Everyone around us kept asking, what did he say when they were talking between songs. also the back up people mic's where way late coming in. Because of this we did not get the full show.
The show was awesome be back next year. The old guys rock

A great night of music. Frankie, Chubby and Bobby brought back some memories. If you haven't been to a Fabulous 50's Weekend, do yourself a favor and go.
Singers were fantastic but Frankie Avalon gave the exact same performance as he did in the past.
