Frank Turner is the best musician around, with the most wonderful crew and community.
A Frank Turner festival can best be described as a love fest. While four nights of Frank headlining might be considered enough of a motivational tool to attend - and 8 other bands on the main stage and 12 bands on the smaller Nick Alexander stage - the amazing love, tolerance and acceptance exhibited from noon to midnight each day by attendees is a powerful testament to the message Frank brings to his community. And this doesn’t even count the 15 or so people of all abilities who performed each day at the Open Mic. There was hugging, crying, laughter and lots of singing and sweating during those four days. It’s an experience with no parallel in my 65 years on this planet. My trip was made more special by the friends I’ve made here for the first time, or renewing old friendships. And a special shout out to two German ladies - M and L. I met L online on the festival Facebook page on September 4. Two weeks later we met up in Sacramento for a show and we’re joined by M, who saw a post of mine about a side trip to see the fabulous PET NEEDS band. We made the 6 hour drive to Anaheim, and I’m confident that we are now friends for life. Next year in Toronto. There’s 2500 of us who can’t wait. There'll be several more photo drops in the next few days. Thanks.
Entry was quick and easy, and Frank Turner killed it each night!
Frank Turner fans are some of the kindest, most genuine people I've ever met! The entire weekend was a beautiful experience of the unifying power of music. Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls are fabulous musicians, and the lineup over the course of the four days was equally impressive.
Has a friend ever tried to explain something they were so psyched about, and you didn't seem as excited as they were about it, and they then said "you had to be there." Like that. You had to be there. It may be hyoerbolic to say a festival changed my life, but it feels like that. But better.
Lost Evenings IV was the 27th and 28th times I’ve seen Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls. The set lists were expansive and perfect, his energy was top notch, and I heard some deep cuts I had forgotten about. So happy to have been there.
Frank always puts on fun show. The whole event was well put together, the venue was great and even Ticketmaster came through with appropriate communications when the opener changed. Was a fantastic date night with the wife and other than some excessively loud talkers next to me during the show, I have literally nothing to complain about. 5/5* no doubt.
Frank Turner at the Mercury Ballroom was one of the best shows that I have seen in my 50+ years of attending live shows. I've seen Frank many times and seeing him acoustic in this room was the best (and I saw him at Red Rocks).
Great show with an awesome vibe and incredible energy. Can't wait to see him again!
