    disappointing to say the least

by dataz57 on 2/27/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

Was all excited to see this show expecting to see spectacular dancing on stage. Dancing was mediocre but what really disappointed us was the interludes of music between each dance. It was ridiculous! The breaks on dancing lasted between 10 to 12 minutes and as much as the music was okay, we came to see dance. This should have been billed as a music recital rather than a dance show. Will not be seeing this again.

    Very good show

by Sophie on 2/27/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

The Tango show was great. A little too much instrumental music for my taste. We came to see tango dancing, not listen to the music. Although there was a very good band. All in all it was a very good show.

    Somewhat Disappointing

Outstanding talent, without question, but the program was mostly redundant and lacking in structure.

    Not the same..

by Memo on 2/27/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

We were disappointed in the over display of acrobatics which is not part of the traditional tango. Didn't care for the provocative, tacky leotard outfit and barefoot look, on one of the dancers nor the dance, which was not at all tango.. Wished we could see the accordion or the orchestra better but they were blocked by their music stands! The female violinist was spectacular and we enjoyed the orchestra. Being Argentinian we have strong opinions on our Tango.. sorry

    Disappointingly Lacking in Dance

by Juan Pelotas on 2/27/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

As an avid enthusiast of tango, I eagerly anticipated the Forever Tango with high expectations. However, what unfolded throughout the evening left much to be desired. While the ambiance and atmosphere were undeniably captivating, the show fell short in delivering the essence of tango through dance. One of the most glaring disappointments was the insufficient amount of dancing. Tango, renowned for its passionate and intricate choreography, seemed relegated to the sidelines, overshadowed by prolonged instrumental performances. Despite the anticipation for mesmerizing displays of footwork and expression, the sparse dance sequences left the audience yearning for more. Adding to the frustration was the repetitive nature of the instrumental pieces. Throughout the entirety of the show, a monotonous stream of similar tunes dominated the airwaves, failing to offer the diversity and dynamism expected from a tango performance. With little variation in tempo and style, the music lacked the flair and excitement necessary to keep the audience engaged. Moreover, the absence of vocal performances further contributed to the monotony of the evening. While instrumental music has its place in tango, the lack of vocalization deprived the show of the storytelling and emotional depth that singing brings. Without the interplay of voice and melody, the performance felt incomplete, leaving spectators longing for a more immersive experience. Despite these shortcomings, it's essential to acknowledge the talent of the musicians and dancers involved. Their skill and dedication were evident, albeit underutilized. With a more balanced approach that prioritizes dance while still celebrating instrumental music, Forever Tango has the potential to become a truly captivating and unforgettable experience. In conclusion, while Forever Tango offers glimpses of tango's allure, its failure to showcase ample dance sequences and reliance on repetitive instrumental music leave much to be desired. For those seeking an authentic and immersive tango experience, this show may fall short of expectations

    Fabulous

by Wendy on 2/27/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

I flew to Florida just to see this production. It was wonderful. I enjoyed every second of the show. I wish you would come to the Fox Theatre in Atlanta or another Theatre in Atlanta. Thank you so much.

I am still debating which was better:the orchestra or the dancers.

    Must See

by Tammy on 2/27/24Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

The show was amazing. It was about 2 hours long with a 15 min intermission in between. I would definitely see again. The venue was small enough to appreciate the dance and live music. The live band was exceptional especially the violinist. If you enjoy a good tango, you will enjoy the show. It’s impossible to move your eyes away from the stage.

    Tango Forever

by LMMilan on 2/17/19Miami Dade County Auditorium - Miami

Whole show was really great! Music was MUCH MORE than expected. (Not sure how they created those sounds with so few musicians.) Dancers were soooo good. Singer was... well, it's not my style, but he was good. Only was disappointed that there was no room for my mom's walker. No handicapped spaces in Miami-Dade County Auditorium?

    How could this be?!

by Perplexed on 2/14/19Miami Dade County Auditorium - Miami

I was so surprised to see such a fabulous performance held in such a disappointing venue. I’m not so much referring to the location as I am to the way is was organized by the facility staff. 1. The ushers allowed latecomers to enter during (not between) sets after the performance had already started. This was constant and continued well into the first half hour and again after intermission. 2. In addition, these ushers were using these extremely bright blue laser flashlights and consistently raising them to see the row numbers, which must have blinded everyone in the theater. How disruptive and disrespectful not only to the audience, but also to the performance. 3. Unlike most performance venues, the facility did not announce five or less minutes to end of intermission. Because of this, half the audience, which was out in the halls enjoying the break, all rushed in at once when they realized the performance had already started. I truly hadn’t seen such lack of organization and disrespect to the performers and audience alike, ever. As far as the performance itself goes, I thought they were fabulous - talented and entertaining. They truly deserved much better from us.

    Excellent entertainment

by Chere on 2/13/19Miami Dade County Auditorium - Miami

A show well worth seeing. Great dancing as anticipated. An improvement would have been to have someone make a brief welcome/informative introduction, along with an announcement at the intermission. One has come to expect this at live performances. A delightful, unexpected bonus was the live music. At one point the audience exploded in applause at the end of a particularly good piece. Well done!

    Tango forever

by Uli on 2/13/19Miami Dade County Auditorium - Miami

The dancers and orchestra were absolutely amazing! Great show, excellent singer, orchestra and absolutely amazing dancers. Beautiful show! Would definitely go again if given the opportunity. The Dade County Auditorium is a great facility, great parking, spacious sitting, but is starting to show is age. Seats are quite beat up, floor where they had painted the paint was peeling off. However, the staff and employees where super attentive, nice and helpful. Thank you to the staff as well!

Very Disappointed with the dancing on the first half. Second-half was improved. The music was incredible.
