    Forever Tango was authentic!

by Danceballroom on 10/11/09Lowell Memorial Auditorium - Lowell

Luis Bravo's "Forever Tango" depicted the actual scene of the beginnings of Tango Argentino in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I had the privilege to attend the "Gala En El Tango" at the El Querandi Restaurant early May 2009. Music was authentic with the "bandoneon" being the essence of the traditional music. The costumes were gorgeous and the dancing was superb. I enjoyed the performance immensely. As a ballroom dancer for 8-years, I've been inspired to study Argentine Tango. I can see myself as one of these dancers. Sandi from Auburn, MA

Music was excellent..dancers were beautiful...the show flew by with no weak links. What a great 8 piece orchestra. We sat in balcony and had great view and sound was great. I highly recomend this show to any dance enthusiast. (The ladies were out of this world).

    Forever Memorable!

by craftyperla on 10/5/09The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

This was the type of show that makes me what to run to a dance studio to take lessons . The dancing was amazing. The live music pieces really tied the show together. The dancers are true artists in their field. The expressions through facial, hand and body positions gave you the turbulant love/hate emotions of the tango. The infusion of humor was wonderful. The mixed age group of dancers was refreshing as well. If you want to see a five star Tango presentation this is the show for you.

by LISSI405 on 10/5/09The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

I actually saw an ad for the show on television and new right away it was something that my friends, my sister, and my mom would love. The music and dancing were just outstanding. I never knew how many wonderful ways Tango could be danced. Will I go again if the show comes back into two YES! Did I tell all of my friends who didn't go to go next time YES! It was a delightful night and one that I hope to repeat again!

    Forever ? Tango

by Isis99 on 10/4/09The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Overall, very average. Second half was distinctively better than the first one yet, the orchestra solo pieces were too long and too much of them.

    tantalizing tango

by mhow on 10/4/09The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Dramatic, romantic, breathtaking, funny. The footwork was shockingly swift but oh so graceful. Such intense sensuality. You could see the roots of Tango, from the small town dance halls and bars of Argentina. The live music was authentic and beautiful. Bravo!

Forever Tango transported me to Buenos Aires!

by Bunny104 on 10/4/09The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

The music, the colors, the strong, sexy, accurate, lively dancing was like being in Argentina. I studied for a semester in Buenos Aires last year. Truly a unique experience in Chicago. Just wished we didn't have to buy a Playbill. What's with that? Also if the tickets were a bit more affordable (especially in this economy) I could have more friends join me. Those dancers were so good, they deserved to have a full audience!

Seductive, not beautiul or sexy, Unforgettable.

This was an amazing education. I now want to learn more about the history of Tango dancing, to understand what influences the expression/lack of expression dung the performance. While I had enormoust respect for the meticulous/focused movement, I was struck by the apparent/seemingly deliberate lack of positive emotion.

    Lacking

by choraldiva on 10/4/09The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

I was and am a Luis Bravo Fan, but was dissapointed with many aspects of the performance. 1. No programs- there were no programs at all to my knowledge..shame on you 2. late start - this exquisite group needs to be punctual.. 3. poor staging- no creative staging for musicians.. 4. What's with the electric piano???? You need a real grand on stage 5. The music was phenominal 6. The dancing was exquisite 7. Short program - long intermission - late start!!! I know that this can be a 5 star presentation......Let's do this!!!!!

    Forever Tango was boring

by happiness4now on 10/2/09Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

The tango is such a beautiful dance, but the play was boring. Sadly, it was not what we had expected.

    Forever Tango, Milwaukee

by DrCool on 10/2/09Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

A superb performance in which each performer displayed expertise in a different way. In some "skits", a single pair of dancers allowed the viewer to focus on their peculiar style with appreciation. In other numbers, several to all the dancers allowed the viewer to appreciate the overall choreography. Likewise, musicians each were highly skilled and were featured in various pieces, while the whole ensemble was tight and delightful.

This is my 4rth time seeing Forever Tango, and in true form it was outstanding!!! There is a reason they say the tango is "a vertical dance of a horizontal desire"!! OOOH-LA-LA!! The dancers are spectacular and the orchestra is outstanding!! Both are very passionate and intense!! Thanks for coming to Milwaukee "Forever Tango". I will go back to see you a 5th time! :)

    Forever Tango was FANTASTIC!!!!

by ureducator on 10/2/09Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

Forever Tango was all I expected and much more. An added delight was the group of children who appeared in the show. What an amazing opporturnity for the audience to experience. What a glorious opportunity for the childtren. The musicians were excellentl and the performing dancers were professional and exciting. The scyncronize skilled mystifying movements and music, the facial expresions, the wardrobe all seemed to just capitivate the audience. Thanks for an enjoyable experience and evening. I was a total captive to the music and the performances. Again, thanks for the children.
