About

Foo Fighters have been the standard bearer of mainstream rock for three decades, starting with their origins as a solo project for Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl in 1994 to the band’s first-ballot induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021 and beyond. Across 11 studio albums, 10 have charted in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200, including two No. 1 debuts for 2011’s Wasting Light and 2017’s Concrete and Gold. Seven of their records have been RIAA-certified platinum. The band also boasts one of the richest rock catalogs, topping the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart 13 times and making major impacts on the Hot 100 chart with singles like "Learn to Fly," "Times Like These," "Best of You" and "The Pretender." Foo Fighters have also established themselves as a global force with over 43 million albums sold worldwide and almost 5.9 million tickets sold as of 2022, according to Pollstar. Led by Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters are composed of Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, Rami Jaffee and Josh Freese, who joined the band in 2023 as the replacement drummer for Taylor Hawkins, who died in March 2022.

My 4th time seeing the Foos. The Don Haskins center is a gem! What a fantastic place to see a show. And I have never seen the boys play with more fire and joy. Still riding the high from such an amazing night!

Great venue - more info needed on upgrades

by CherB on 10/7/23Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

We flew into Arizona to attend this concert to check off a bucket list item. The venue is a nice outdoor venue and weather thankfully was in our favor. On a hotter day, it may have been more difficult to endure as there is very limited shade. We did purchase the Casino Arizone VIP ugrade and we were happy with the area, but not happy with the limited information given for it. On the mobile ticket it said doors opened at 7:30pm which was the time of the concert, but it had opened much earlier than that and we missed out on a great opportunity there to enjoy it more. Also, don't assume this amphitheather is close to the Talking Stick resort as well, it is a 30 minute drive if you get good traffic. Regardless, the Foo Fighters show was excellent and we had a great time. Just wished there was more information give on the upgrades! Even had tried to reach out via email and FB and got no response. Oh well, lesson learned.

    Best experience ever

by Dpy on 10/7/23Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

Loved the layout of the venue. Parking was very easy. Food and drink were easy accessible. Lines were short because they ad many shops open. Restrooms were clean. Sound was great.

    They never disappoint!

by Jo on 10/7/23Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

This is only my second time seeing the Foo Fighters, but each show I have seen has been fantastic! I never want it to end! They just put their all into every, single show! My favorite band! And as long as I can, any time they are in town, I will be going to see them! Cannot get enough! So hope they come to Phoenix for their stadium tour!

    The best

by KBB on 10/6/23Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

Always a fantastic concert, this time the Foo Fighters departed from the usual and slowed down some of the classics creating a surprisingly touching and emotional experience. FF songs have connected with us in so many ways, and the ballad-y tempo gave time for the lyrics and melody to really hit. No fear, the big rock sound we expect completed each slower song, and there were plenty of singalong songs with the energy we love. I can’t wait for the 2024 tour!

    Foo Fighters in the Desert

by RustyBTicketmaster on 10/6/23Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

This was our first Foo Fighters concert and first time visiting Talking Stick Amphitheater. We were in one of the rearmost seating areas (Section 304) that is within the theater but not under cover. The weather was perfect, and the show was to start at 7:30pm, so the outside seating was terrific, but we image our experience would be a different for a daytime show under the desert sun or with any sort of precipitation would have been less favorable. If considering this venue and one of the rear-most seating sections, keep in mind the time of day and likely weather. Another comment on the rear-most seated sections is that there is a large walkway between these seats and the rest of the "inside"theater. As a result, people are regularly walking back and forth, with some pausing to look down at the show. We thought there could be more regular enforcement by the theater ushers to keep people moving so as not to block the view for those in the "300"series seats. Another consideration from this seating area is that wheelchair seating is in the back row on the stage side of this open corridor, and wheelchairs tend to have higher seating than the other seats in this area. The view of the stage was mostly unobstructed, and the venue is small enough that we had a good view of the stage. While we did have binoculars with us, we didn't really need them. The sound and visuals for the Foo Fighters were excellent. While the music volume was consistent with a rock show, the sound was clear and "just right". Entering the theater was relatively unobtrusive. There are attendants sort of pre-screening what people are carrying so they can return any prohibited items back to their vehicles. There was initially a line to enter the theater, seemingly mostly comprised of people looking to get a good seat on the lawn area. After this initial rush, we walked right into the park without any wait, and this was a "sold out"show. The Foo Fighters played for 2hrs and 35 minutes starting about 9pm after an opening act of The Breeders that played for most of 60 minutes. There were about 25 minutes between The Breeders and the Foo Fighters. Great show. We would see the Foo Fighters again and also a show at Talking Stick.

I didn't even get to PARK!!

by ShaneAz on 10/6/23Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

This is NOT a review of the Foo. Foo is great. As I'm sure they were the night I didn't get to see them. I had waited for this concert for MONTHS yet, couldn't even park, let alone get into see them. Traffic control was a joke & gate numbers don't even face the drivers. I've been to countless concerts at this venue & have never had the kind of trouble I did at this show. I don't know if it's due to lack of parking attendants or what, but it was sloooowwww. After waiting 30 min just to park, I had enough. I wasn't any closer & it was about to start. Not happy with the venue, at the moment.

Play the radio versions of the songs.

by FixerJim on 10/6/23Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

Dear foo fighters.. we want to hear the hits, all of them. Not 6 minute versions of 3 minute songs so you can run around, talk while playing the same chords over and over. Play 2x the songs in the same time.

    Fantastic Foos

by Phil on 10/6/23Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

Dave Grohl and the Foos were excellent. Our first time seeing them. Played for 2.5 hours with high energy throughout. Crowd thoroughly into it as they played a wide range of songs from their 28 years of existence. Rock is not dead as long as this band continues to put out new music and tour. As for the venue, good seating and sight lines. We wondered why the ceiling fans were shut off once the main show started. Could have used them on during the main show. As for concession prices, we know you gotta make a buck. But $15 (plus an asked for tip) for a beer is funny/sad.

The Foos are a 5-star experience

by TheRVW on 10/6/23Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

I’ve seen the Foo Fighters many times over the years in many different venues. Through all of the tragedy they endured the last couple years, they emerged strong, fresh, motivated and energetic. This was among the best performances I’ve seen them give. Foo Fighters concerts are a party. A celebration. Great music, the audience is all happy to be there, and you never leave disappointed. I’ve seen various concerts at this venue, dating all the way back to 1992, and for some reason they’ve just never figured out parking. Getting in has its own set of challenges, but getting out is absolute gridlocked chaos. After 33 years in existence, hey need to finally get this figured out! This WILL factor into my decision as to whether I drive way the heck out to the SW valley to see future concerts.

    Amazing Night with Foo Fighters

by DReneeLV on 10/6/23Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

The Foo Fighters always give their all at a show. The band played for little over 2 1/2 hours. Old stuff, new stuff, including a double neck guitar that Dave played for the first time in concert. We were introduced to a new band member,Josh Freese, who really blew me away. Taylor Hawkins was missed but Josh earned some serious respect. This was the first time I noticed the Live Nation fan interaction on the app. They did an excellent job with directions, concert day planning and posted the merch being sold!! This helped when the merch lines were soooo long. Only item missing was the FF poster unique to location. The show was sold out and Talking Stick Amphitheater is not super large when it comes to the midway area where purchase merch, beer, food and use restrooms. But they did a good job having friendly workers and keeping the crowd moving. We had the VIP upgrade to a lounge and it was an excellent vibe. A little stage was set up with a band, you could order more gourmet food and drinks and even purchase 4 shirts without waiting in line. Only complaint was the limited seating in the lounge. Thank you Foo Fighters, Live Nation and Talking Stick Amphitheater for giving us a night to remember! We can’t wait for the next show!!

The best the best the best re-view

by Arthurk12 on 10/6/23Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

2nd time for me to see Dave and the Foo rock a venue, but a first time concert goer came with me and was blown away. My son’s first concert was with my favorite band and he was all smiles and singing along to all the lyrics while the band plowed through great song after song with an energy and excitement unmatched by any other. Venue wise, keep the fans on when it’s still hot and add more kiosks for merchandise as those lines were out the park long. Also, make leaving the lot post show more streamlined with dedicated directional exits to reduce cross traffic stopping the exodus. Foo Fighters know how to rock and are exceptional, so happy to be able to have spent that night with my son!
