Florida Panthers History

The Florida Panthers began play in the NHL in the 1993-1994 season. The team won the Presidents Trophy for the 2021–2022 season, earning the most points during the regular season. The Panthers then reached the Stanley Cup Final in the 2023-2023 season, though they lost to the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 4.

However, victory was theirs next season, when the Panthers won their first Stanley Cup in the franchise’s history. The 2024 Stanley Cup Final was a thrilling seven-game series, which saw Florida win 2-1 at their home venue of Amerant Bank Arena. In 2025, the Panthers clinched their second consecutive Stanley Cup title, locking in back-to-back NHL championships.

  • The hockey game was amazing!

by Funlee on 2/25/18BB&T Center - SunriseRating: 4 out of 5

The security getting in was a joke. Our bag was smaller than the max size and they wouldnt let us in. Guy was on a power trip. No reason at all for not letting us bring the regulated bag inside. We were within their rules. Change the policy if you cant go by it or learn how to measure correctly.

  • Panthers Game

by meagc on 2/6/18BB&T Center - SunriseRating: 5 out of 5

I surprised my boyfriend with Panthers tickets for his birthday and we had a blast! We were in section 115, row 7 which is a great view (for those unsure of where to sit). I would definitely recommend the venue and the games are a perfect date night. Only complaint is the drink prices, I think they could be a little more reasonable ($36 for 2 double cocktails). But overall, great experience.

  • Wings were Robbed.

Game was good. Great turnout from the Detroit fans. Last goal with 8 seconds left won it for the Panthers. Detroit fans say the goal should have been called off for goalie interference.

  • Good venue but prohibitted items NOT specified

by Jdgb on 1/28/18BB&T Center - SunriseRating: 4 out of 5

BB&T is a great venue to watch a hockey game. But the items prohibited are not specified in the written signs outside or on the website. My wife was prohibited from bringing in small knitting needles that were in a knitting bag along with an item being knitted. Are the knitting needles weapons? No. Homeland Security allows them on airlines flights. She brings them on flights all the time. Neither the security person who searched her purse nor a guest service rep was able to give an explanation. The purse size restriction is unreasonable and has many exceptions in any event.

  • Ovechkin (Capitals) was awesome

by Azzalingo on 1/28/18BB&T Center - SunriseRating: 4 out of 5

As a hockey fan I took the oportunity to watch NHL-hockey live and to see one of the best players in the world. Alex Ovechkin. The Panthers took the lead and where figthing with passion. But the Caps have more skills and at the end they won the game. The athmosphere in the Arena was very relaxed and not many fans supported their teams loudly. This is different in Germany ;-). Shopping at the Sawgrass Mills and joining the game in the BB&T Arena was a perfect combination. I've got the tickets via Ticketmaster, paid with my credit card and used the print at home option. It worked smooth. The Arena was average but the food and drinks are very expensive ( 8 USD for a Bretzel, 10 USD for a Heineken). The free parking lot at the shopping center (near the cinemas) is only 10 minutes away by feet and recommended.

  • Awesome game, fans not so much

    by ghound1 on 1/24/18BB&T Center - SunriseRating: 3 out of 5

We've gone to Panthers games since they were at the Miami Arena. Last time at the BB&C, we wore the jerseys for the visiting team since we're long-time fans of that organization too. I can't believe the hostility with which Panthers fans greeted us - stares, under-breath comments, and outright rudeness. This has never happened to us when we watched the Panthers as visitors at another arena. We're in a tourist-driven area - help our visitors want to come back! At least give all attendees a welcoming smile and a thanks for coming!

  • Great game, great seats

by JCandFam on 1/22/18BB&T Center - SunriseRating: 4 out of 5

Other than the ridiculously over-priced concessions (yes, I know concessions stuff always is, but this is just stupid!), the seats (section 128) and the game itself were excellent.

  • Go Leafs Go

by Muskokagirl on 11/25/17BB&T Center - SunriseRating: 5 out of 5

We always have a fantastic time when we go to a hockey game at the BB&T centre. The venue is fantastic and they do an excellent job keeping everybody entertained. The best part is that when our Leafs are in town we get $150 seats that are normally about $500 at home! Go to a Panther game, you won’t be disappointed!

  • First Time at BB&T Center

by Charliepack on 11/7/17BB&T Center - SunriseRating: 5 out of 5

On 11/4, attended the Florida Panthers vs New York Rangers game. The arena is one of the best I have ever been to. The seats were comfortable with ample arm room. There are a few walking vendors which were infrequent. The concession stands offered a variety of food and drinks. We ate at Chickies and Petes. The cheese steak sandwiches were excellent. Overall this was a great experience and I look forward to attending another event in the future.

Seats were great! Ticket deal was really dumb. The 4 pac gets you popcorn, soda and a hot dog. The problems is you get Club level seats and have to go down stairs to redeem the the meal. Also, your ticket doesn't say anything on it.

  • Great Time!!!

  • Florida Panthers

by TheCOA on 10/10/17BB&T Center - SunriseRating: 3 out of 5

this was a very good game but they are still absolutely charging too much per ticket which is why there were a bunch of empty seats at an opening night home game. Panthers management needs to recognize the issue and make the tickets less expensive so that the fans can attend more games and root on the team.
