Only the last number and the encore were acceptable. I have been a SEASON TICKET HOLDER FOR THE POPS SERIES for ten years and this is the least enjoyable concert I attended. It was a terrible waste of the orchestra to perform that kind of jazz..
I love Vivaldi's Four Seasons! This timeless music was performed near flawlessly in a great hall by truly talented musicians. I would definitely see the Florida Orchestra perform again, and I look forward to seeing another show at Ruth Eckerd Hall.
I have been listening to Vivaldi for 30 yrs & had to stuff a tissue in my mouth to keep from singing all the notes! The whole performance was incredible & unforgettable!!! Am still floating from this wonderful first time experience...Will definitely be returning in the near future!! Love Chopin, Bach, all the classics & have been adding them to my library. Again, thank you all for giving me my dream!
This was a delightful event. There should be programs like this one. The full house proves my point.

The orchestra played well and was very enjoyable . The only thing I didn't care for much , was that the visiting conductor , changed the arrangements on a few of the classic Christmas songs , so you didn't hear what you expected to . Some of the changes were alright , but he should have left Handel's Messiah alone .
Nothing really sets up the Christmas Spirit like hearing our awesome Master Chorale and Florida Orchestra. The newly renovated Mahaffey was a great setting for this concert which will not be forgotten anytime soon. With guest conductor selecting great arrangements of traditional music, the evening was magical. What an evening!
It was absolutely outstanding. One of the many highlights was tha orchesta's rendition of the 12 days of Christmas.
Great Music, Awesome Hall, Entertaining Conductor & Singer. Really inspired me to introduce my children to this music as Mr Lippia encouraged.
This was my first time at the Mahaffey as well as hearing the Florida Orchestra, but it will not be my last. Beautiful setting, outstanding music, and an ultra-talented young violinist.
Great music! Fun performances from the Cirque folks. No major stage props, just the performers, some small props such as ropes, hoops or juggling pins, and other fun items. Overall the performance was great fun.
Fantastic! A great reading of the Mahler's Symphony No. 7. If anything the trumpet was a little to big..
A powerful piece of music that these performers were up to. It was exciting and the voices and music was outstanding. This is one of my favorite pieces of music, I have heard it performed many times. i think this is the best I have ever heard. With over two hundred voices singing, to get them all on the same note for an hour was truly an amazing feat. The only ham in the entire evening was the baritone. I liked the show so much in Tampa I went home and bought tickets for the next performance in St Pete's. In Tampa he acted drunk and knocked over a chair. In St. Pete's he drank a glass of water through the Tenor's only time in the entire piece and was so distracting I felt he was very unprofessional. When it was the soprono's time she was smart enough to stand in front of him while he rubbred his face and stretched his neck. What a diva. That aside I intend to buy tickets for all of the Florida Orch' performances. So should you.
A fantastic night of beautiful music. Performed in a way that Orff would be proud of.
Was a great evening spent with friends... the price of ticket was about the same as I pay when going to the movies... but i'll take the theater any day !!
