It's a hockey game, you either love it or you hate it, right? Price was great, concussions are a little expensive, but it's a sporting event. Not too many over the top fans, so great family fun
Very nice evening ... good seats with great view. We had a great view of the net the Firebirds shot at in 1st & 3rd periods.
May have been an OHL game, but it was played like it was at least a minor league game. Great crowd, players knew how to play, hard to tell it was a prospect league. Concessions were also reasonably priced!
As a Canadian, I have been to a few hockey games in my life but I have never EVER been to a game where the visiting team is sequestered to the Locker room during singing of both home and visiting national anthems. Very bad form.. Luckily, I have the whole summer to forget this insulting slap in the face as the firebirds are now done for this season full of controversy and miss steps. Hopefully the ohl will get this team on track before it is ruined for everyone!
Great seats, but unfortunately Flint lost, I mean they didn't even score a goal. Can I get a ticket refund? My kids were sad. We were all emotional after the game. We love hockey Ohl rocks, it's all good now. Going back for more.
The seats were great, I felt like I was in the game with the players. It was a great time and I really appreciated the low ticket prices.

Love the Dort federal event center. I go to the firebirds often and have never had a bad time. Great crowd and a lot of fun even before and after game time.
I love hockey whether its NHL, AHL or OHL. Love having a team close by to watch that doesn't cost a fortune to see. The last two games we attended have been losses. This team needs to step up their game and keep the puck out of their end which has been a problem. There have been some trades so hopefully there will be improvement.
Great evening, gave tickets away as a Christmas gift, went with 4 family members, Had a great time, unfortunately FF lost but that is why it was competition look forward to many more games, havent been to Flint hockey in 7 years, have been out of state felt great to be back, they are doing alot at Dort Center to engage the fans, awesome family event Thanks
Seats were good, arena was nice, but parking was over priced for the event.
Flint is a good 1st year home team. Tired old rink. Fans are enthusiastic. Good overall hockey experience. My wife and I have visited all 20 OHL rinks. Less than 5 rinks charge for parking and the $10 parking fee for a family event is a bit high.
Saturday 12/5 Great game & nice atmosphere ... but kids running to seats that are not theirs & standing on seats & standing in front of us ... Arena needs better control of things like that big time.
The biggest rating was from the game itself. I saw a good rivalry game including OT and shootout. Product on the ice was decent. people were getting up and down liberally out of their seats and was really distracting if you really wanted to watch the game.
The game and action was very enjoyable. Both sides had a lot of energy early and there were quite a few end to end rushes with the puck. The seats all seem to have a good view on the ice, I can't see where there are any bad areas to sit. Prices were reasonable as well. It was enjoyable to actually hear the players talking (as well as the referees) during the play. The new screens are great for replay. The negative. They blast loud music (ludicrously loud) until 5 or so seconds after the puck has been dropped to "get loud". Blah. Don't need it. At least turn it off by the time the puck drops. The kiss camera needs to be shelved. Its stupid. The home team was badly outshot, but I think the count was off by at least 20% on the home team shots. Minor issue.
Seats on the glass... Minor league hockey... What could be better? A great time!
I was looking for something to do while back in Michigan this past weekend and decided to try a Firebirds game. It's not quite our old Flint Generals, but they were still exciting to watch. They looked great out there handling the Sarnia team. I am hoping they anchor in and regain the old Generals following. It would be great for the city and the team. The tickets were a steal, the food was priced right, and the arena was looking good. An awesome night of entertainment for the whole family is available there for the taking if you can make it. If they are playing when I come back home, I'll definitely be seeing them again!
The hockey was average, at best, but it's a new team & will take some time to improve. I thought the $10.00 parking fee was excessive, as were the venue tickets. If you want to fill the stadium, as it was in the past when our team was the Flint Generals, you're going to have to make it more affordable, especially for Seniors. Overall, it was an enjoyable evening & I'd go again, just not as often as I might if the tickets were cheaper.
I was very pleased with the restoration of the arena. Everything looked "new" and clean. Entering and exiting both parking lot and building was easy and organized. The price of parking and beer seemed high but in Dort Federal Event Center's defence, it has been a while since i have attended an event. I certainly don't mind paying if the product is good. and I must say the quality of hockey I saw was outstanding! I hope the fan turnout continues and the team does well. I think the players will see they have a good supporting crowd that appreciates good play and effort. We also know you can't win them all. Good luck and keep up great play!
Game was good. Mic for anthem singer was terrible. Events during game were excellent.
