FLEETWOOD MAC IN CONCERT:
The Rumours are true: Fleetwood Mac will be joined by Christine McVie for their 2014 world tour, and the band is just as excited about it as their fans. McVie left the band for personal reasons back in 1998, making the Mac's subsequent touring somewhat of a bittersweet experience for concertgoers. Bittersweet no more, however — fans lucky enough to score a ticket to Fleetwood Mac's 2014 On With the Show tour will get to experience McVie classics like "Everywhere" and "Little Lies" alongside Fleetwood Mac staples like "Dreams" and "Rhiannon," marking the first time in nearly 20 years the band's classic lineup has toured together.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Legendary British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac was formed in 1967 by Peter Green and Mick Fleetwood. After moderate success as a no-frills blues band in the late '60s, the group underwent a turbulent period marked by lineup changes and lawsuits in the early '70s. With the additions of Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, and Stevie Nicks by 1975, the band entered their most successful period, riding to both critical and commercial acclaim with a string of No. 1 albums including Rumours (1977) and Mirage (1982). The group's chemistry both in and out of the studio resulted in some of the era's most enduring hits, and the continued popularity of songs like "Dreams," "Gypsy," and "Sara," have made them one of the top-selling acts of all time. Following Christine McVie's departure in 1998, the band continued to tour with a scaled-down lineup, thrilling fans in 2014 with the announcement of McVie's return for their On With the Show tour.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"This was the best concert that I have seen in years. They can still rock the house. Stevie Nicks still has a fantastic voice. Lindsey's guitar playing was out of this world."
"Stevie hasn't sounded this flawless in almost 20 years. Just absolutely awesome. GREAT energy by everybody in the band. The chemistry was excellent and I think the band had as good of a time as the audience."
"Extremely enjoyable----the band is absolutely PROFESSIONAL---onstage for 2 1/2+ hours and appearing to enjoy every minute. Their sound is magnificent----unbelievable for 40 years in the business!!"

It was evident that Fleetwood Mac needed a few more days of rehearsals. The sound engineers seemed to be always behind the band. sometimes too loud, other times too quiet. The "Dome" has some unusual acoustics and they needed more time to figure out the proper settings. Our attendance was marred by two ladies who were drunk and unforgettably disruptive, A couple of us were covered in their beer that they spilled on several spectators. Lindsey Buckingham's guitar playing was awesome, but I could really do without his sophomoric references to his love affair and the break up with Stevie. Really Lindsey who cares?
This was by far one of my favorite shows of all time. This band has always been one of my top 10 and after finding the Fleetwood Mac Boston 2004 concert both on HD cable and on the internet I've added them and this live show to my collection of memories that I will charish for life.
It was a great concert, they sounded amazing and it was one of the best concerts I have been to. My son who is 16 said he loved it too, they play and sound better with age....
A great show. While I didn't go with any expectations, it was a very enjoyable evening. Lindsey Buckingham rock and rolled all over the stage and proved a master frontman. Stevie Nicks still has that sexy voice and the orginals - Mick and John still click. Nothing brings out a bigger smile on your face than watching Mick Fleetwood. Their weren't many favorites that they didn't play. The sound was great and the only two downers were the screamer standing right behind us and the fact that Christine McVie wasn't there. An excellant show I would recommend. Even my kids, 17 and 20, had a great time.
This was the second time I saw them. The first time was at Whiteriver Ampitheater.I have to say this time was better.I took my best friend of 25 years(who idolizes Stevie Nicks) and my younger sister for their birthdays. What an awesome birthday present it turned out to be.
Seeing the Mac live was well worth the long drive my friend and I made from Bellingham to Tacoma. They played so many great songs, and Lindsey absolutely played his heart out. There was only one disappointment....they did NOT play "Silver Springs", which I had read was to be their final encore. I was really looking forward to hearing it. :(
We did not care for the Tacoma Dome seating. For the amount we paid, we were disappointed we had to sit on hard metal benches, and far away from the stage. We have always been big fans of Fleetwood Mac, but we do really miss Christie McVee and her songs. Just didn't seem the same as the other times we have seen them. Stevie Nicks sounded great, as usual. Looking at their play list, the final song was not sung, and many people were waiting for that. Next time, hope they are at a better place, like an outdoor setting.
My husband was more of a fan than I; but, we both enjoyed this concert in Tacoma. I realized that I did know more of the songs than I thought.
They performed many of their greatest hits, just as advertised, and with so much energy that you'd have thought it was 20 years ago.
Group was great. Wish I could have heard them better. The Tacoma Dome has good seating the lower half but aluminum bench seating the upper half. Unfortunately I was a little way up into the aluminum seating. I thought I was at a '60's Beattle concert with the people around me screaming at the top of their lungs in my ears plus stomping on the aluminum bleachers. A girl next to us was also pounding drums on the aluminum bleacher in front of us. Fortunately I've followed FM since the late '60's (when they were more blues oriented) and know their music quite well.
If possible I would follow them to each and every performance.
I have to say this concert was honestly nothing that I expected. Although the atmosphere was completely serene (by this I mean this was my first sit down concert), the energy & charisma on stage was unforgettable. Definitely a must see.
This concert was so much more than I was expecting. The years since the 70's have "aged" these musicians and singers like FINE WINE...it will only get better. Craftsmen refine their craft with years of hard work and passion...and both of these showed through in every heart beat of this concert. I walked away, blown away..much thanks and appreciation for you sharing with the world again what we missed for so many years.
My boyfriend and I had always wanted to go to a Fleetwood mac concert and we really had a great time and thought that it was something we will remember forever.
He is amazing. He is mega talented. He is intense. He is fun. He is mega talented. He is amazing. Very good show Soundied pretty good in the dome. It was my 2nd concert there. It would be good to see them at an outside venue, and not have seats on the side of the stage.
Fleetwood Mac is AMAZING! I took my mom to this concert in Tacoma, WA. My mother's first concert. The experience was a blast! The seating chart I have to say, when buying the tickets online seemed a little misleading, but what do I know. It's not the now you pay for when it comes to a band like this. It's just the love of.
A 8:05 PM there was a loud screeching noise that lasted until Fleetwood Mac came on stage 25 minutes of terrible loud noise!. ( a half-hour late) . Stevie Nix's voice is shot! Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood carried the show! Avoid theTacoma Dome if you can it is always a terrible experience. Beginning with the rip-off parking charge!
I was constantly saying to myself -- I can't believe I'm watching Fleetwood Mac, as I'm sure the band was saying, I can't believe we're rocking the Staples Center. I mean, we all know the Behind the Music. It's a miracle they're still standing. So I guess you could say I wasn't expecting a high energy performance. Not true. I guess the 'rock years' were easy on them. Lindsey Buckingham shoulders the most weight, but handles it well. He hasn't lost a note on the guitar. Stevie is on her game as well. I think I got the most out watching John and Mick carrying the rhythm.
