About

FLEETWOOD MAC IN CONCERT:

The Rumours are true: Fleetwood Mac will be joined by Christine McVie for their 2014 world tour, and the band is just as excited about it as their fans. McVie left the band for personal reasons back in 1998, making the Mac's subsequent touring somewhat of a bittersweet experience for concertgoers. Bittersweet no more, however — fans lucky enough to score a ticket to Fleetwood Mac's 2014 On With the Show tour will get to experience McVie classics like "Everywhere" and "Little Lies" alongside Fleetwood Mac staples like "Dreams" and "Rhiannon," marking the first time in nearly 20 years the band's classic lineup has toured together.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Legendary British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac was formed in 1967 by Peter Green and Mick Fleetwood. After moderate success as a no-frills blues band in the late '60s, the group underwent a turbulent period marked by lineup changes and lawsuits in the early '70s. With the additions of Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, and Stevie Nicks by 1975, the band entered their most successful period, riding to both critical and commercial acclaim with a string of No. 1 albums including Rumours (1977) and Mirage (1982). The group's chemistry both in and out of the studio resulted in some of the era's most enduring hits, and the continued popularity of songs like "Dreams," "Gypsy," and "Sara," have made them one of the top-selling acts of all time. Following Christine McVie's departure in 1998, the band continued to tour with a scaled-down lineup, thrilling fans in 2014 with the announcement of McVie's return for their On With the Show tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"This was the best concert that I have seen in years. They can still rock the house. Stevie Nicks still has a fantastic voice. Lindsey's guitar playing was out of this world."

"Stevie hasn't sounded this flawless in almost 20 years. Just absolutely awesome. GREAT energy by everybody in the band. The chemistry was excellent and I think the band had as good of a time as the audience."

"Extremely enjoyable----the band is absolutely PROFESSIONAL---onstage for 2 1/2+ hours and appearing to enjoy every minute. Their sound is magnificent----unbelievable for 40 years in the business!!"

    fleetwood mac 5/16/2009

by robie on 7/11/09Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

The acoustics in the Tacoma Dome were terrible. We were really disappointed that Stevie Nicks did not participate in a lot of the songs. Too lmany extreme guitar playings. Concert started a half hour late. Very disappointed overall.

Fleetwood Mac was OK, Lindsey Buckingham was great

by Reid on 7/11/09Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

It could be that Fleetwood Mac concerts have been televised too often, but this concert was a bit less enjoyable than we'd expected. One problem was the venue -- to see the stage we continually had to stand. Other than that, Stevie Nix was not the "star" of the show -- her voice was not as impressive as it once was -- but Lindsey Buckingham's energy and guitar virtuosity were impressive. He seemed to be much more involved in the music than Nix.

I have been a Fleetwood Mac fan since I first heard them in the 70's, so when I knew they were coming, I had to get tickets. The show was better then I could have ever thought. I would go again!!

Fleetwood Mac Unleashed: Hits Tour 2009

by Charly on 7/11/09Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

My first time at the Tacoma Dome and I liked the venue. Fleetwood Mac's performance was outstanding. It seems that the "old" groups get better with age - certainly true of them. Part of what made it so great was the honest emotions that they displayed towards each other. I also enjoyed that Lindsey Buckingham played more than I had seen in the past - WOW he is awsome!

Fleetwood Mac. They still got it!

by dncjenks on 7/11/09Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

What an awsome concert. I lost my voice for a week after. Everyone was singing with them. Every song was excellent and sung to perfection. I would definately recommend this concert. A must see.

    Great dinner/amazing concert

by joyful on 7/11/09Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

We had an incredible "event" by attending not only Fleetwood Mac but having the dining experiences as well. We had to drive about three hours to attend and really don't know Tacoma well. We had the best food and then we were able to move right into our seats. No lines...would do again!

    LINDSAY BUCKINGHAM ROCKS

by mallyman on 7/11/09Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

I have seen hundreds of live concerts. I had never seen Lindsay Buckingham. He is one on the best, if not the best, guitar player I ever saw. The concert was awesome. Tacoma Dome is ok, if you have floor seats near the front.

    Down in Front

by SoSo on 7/11/09Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

Great performance by Lindsey. The rest of the band can still knock out the old favorites. Most of the concert was obscured by people who think they have to stand up the entire concert. Makes the money I paid for a good seat seem like a waste. Down in Front, please.

Fleetwood Mac at Tacoma Dome - sound system bad

by Macfan on 7/11/09Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

I saw Fleetwood Mac one other time - when they first came out with the Buckingham/Nicks lineup. It was one of the best concerts I've ever been to in my life. Also saw Buckingham a year or two ago and that concert was also fabulous. THat said, this concert was a major disappointment. In particular, the sound system was horrible - couldn't hear the individual musicians - and was widely distorted overall. Christine McVie was also greatly missed. Perhaps the lack of any new material also caused the music to be less vibrant. Since this concert, I have only listened to pre- Buckingham/Nicks Fleetwood Mac and been enjoying it thoroughly. These are all great musicians, but this concert was quite a disappointment for me.

    Buckingham still rocks

by LynnKing on 7/11/09Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

The concert was great for us, and for our sons (30's) who saw them for the first time, they were 'amazed'.... We thought they sounded almost as good as when we first saw them in the 70's. I think they used the same light show! BUCKINGHAM is still one of the best guitarists in the world, and Mick can still beat his drums like a young man!

    mediocre is being generous

    by pariah62 on 7/11/09Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

I had wanted to see Fleetwood in concert for years and ended up leaving before the encore. The show could be summed up in one word - BORING -. The performance was completely uninspired and it looked like they were just going through the motions. There were a few high lights - Sarah was very well done and played with a lot of emotion. But other than that, the night was completely forgetable. The ticket prices were very high and was not at all worth the price of admission. If this is how they've been playing all of their shows, they should hang 'em up and stay retired.

    Fleetwood Mac did not dissappoint!

by olive on 7/11/09Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

All the hits, Stevie spinning with her "Gypsy" style, it was a great show. But what really blew me away was Lyndsey Buckingham on the guitar-wow, this was my first time seeing the Mac live and his chops are more than impressive! Overall, a really great concert!
