Flatney never showed up but a video clip?

by MAS212 on 1/1/16Lyric Theatre - New York

I did enjoyed it but I would've liked to see M. Flatley live and not a videp clip and at least at the end thanking the public

    Great great show!

by 14itsme on 12/29/15Lyric Theatre - New York

If you have seen river dance which I have not you will be left with a sense of where is Michael Flatley. He comes on at the end for 5 minutes! The show is not let down by him not being in it all the dancers and show is still brilliant. My only gripe. Paying £300 You can buy over here on the day for $75 you do the maths.

    Great Show!

by Mima59 on 12/29/15Lyric Theatre - New York

After reading the bad reviews I was very hesitant to get the tickets. I am glad I did! The show was amazing considering it is a broadway production. Yes, it is nothing compared to his old show but you can't compare huge arenas to a small broadway theatre. Yes, there was unicorn and butterflies on the screen and bright colors (sort of Avatarish) but most of the people were there to see dancers not a "movie". I have to say that I didn't mind the videos behind - they added nice backround, colors matched the dancers outfits most of the time. And yes, Flatley showed up for the last 10 minutes and didn't dance much but it was one of the highlights of the show anyway. So, if you are not super demanding and enjoy great dancing and great show then go. You will not regret :)

Lord of the Dance - Dangerous Games was phenomenal

by TLH15 on 12/29/15Lyric Theatre - New York

I brought my Mom and my mother-in-law to the show and we had unbelievable seats. The show was great, lively, fun and energetic. My only complaint was I walked away a bit disappointed as I thought Michael Flatley was going to be there live to dance a little. I missed him years ago in River Dance and was so excited that I would finally get to see him and then he was just in 2 video clips. That was a huge let down for me. I still loved the show and thought it was fantastic but I wish all the advertisements didn't make it seem like Michael Flatley would actually be part of the live show.

One simple word...AWESOME!! We have seen Flatley many years ago when he was on stage. This show was incredible and marks the change and modern depiction of Lord of the Dance. The talent is refreshing and not compared to any.

    disappointed

by feisdad10000 on 12/29/15Lyric Theatre - New York

Weak storyline. Dancing was good not great. Paid full price for tickets only to see deep discounts and a half empty theater. No Flatley at the matinee. Not worth the prove of the ticket.

Don't waste your money or time!!

by Disney07 on 12/28/15Lyric Theatre - New York

I had seen Riverdance and thought it would be similar. Well it wasn't!!! Tried to put a modern twist on show. I'm still not sure what the storyline was about someone in a gold bodysuit playing a flute, Warriors, and robots. Wymsical Barbies trying to ballet dance. Since when do you have traditional Irish step dancing and then all of sudden their dresses get pulled off and now they are dancing in their undergarments and stocking. Michael Flatery only performed a small skit at the last 10 minutes of show. I am very disappointed and wasted my money.

    Flat Flatley

by PeacockTunesmith on 12/28/15Lyric Theatre - New York

I bought tickets for a day when Flatley was supposed to appear in the show. He didn't. The sound of the dancers' feet on the floor seemed to have been pre-recorded along with the music. The cheap projections looked like screen savers--corny pictures of unicorns and butterflies. That combined with the girls in long blonde wigs and the men dressed as soldiers made me think I was in a toy store shopping for 3-year-olds. The guy who replaced Flatley was superb, but I have no idea who he was--no program credit, no announcement.

Biggest waste of 150.00 I ever spent "...no show on Flately himself. The customs were a disgrace.....pj,s bottoms for the men and exercise attire for the girls...same dances over and over again .....they are going on tour save your money ....flew in from Kissimmee florida to New York ...very disappointed... Mr. Flatley should keep his hands off of the young women. His grabbing was unpleasant to see at the final dance performance of the show.

My family and I loved The Lord of the Dance !

by BobGee on 12/26/15Lyric Theatre - New York

The dancing is like nothing you have ever seen (or heard) !!...Unless you've been to Riverdance...The show is all new and some of the costumes have a more modern look. It is absolutely amazing . I must admit, we went to a matinee knowing full well Flatleys understudy would perform and he did a fantastic job, but he is not Michael. The rest of the dancers were flawless and their energy is electrifying. I am saving one star for my next review when I get to see Mr. Flatley himself.

    Very Good

by Adcart on 12/25/15Lyric Theatre - New York

I am a huge Michael Flatley fan. Because I went to this with an open mind, NOT expecting it to be anything like Feet of Flames,, I was entertained. The costumes and production were certainly lacking, but the the talent was good and we were entertained.

    Great Show

by DKR58 on 12/25/15Lyric Theatre - New York

Nothing less than expected. The synchronicity, timing and choreography were wonderful. From the opening to the last dance I and those with me were fully involved in the entertainment Michael Flatly provided. The two hour show was so much fun we did not want it to end.

Michael Flatley is the absolute best!

by PDBaker on 12/25/15Lyric Theatre - New York

We LOVE this show -- have seen it three times and just got tickets to return again before Michael leaves. It is sensational and will be very sad to see Michael Flatley leave the stage 1/3: he is truly an inspiration.

Taking that taps away from tap dancers

by DerLeierman on 12/24/15Lyric Theatre - New York

I truly enjoyed the show when it played towards what it actually is. A wonderful group of tap dancers. Too many episodes either lacked dancing altogether with blase singing, odd graphics from 12 year old children's bedrooms, or uninspired instrumentals. I had to contain my laughter when I began to wonder if I was in the wrong show once the clothes started to come off.

Excellent footwork but a bit over-the-top

by ELdf on 12/23/15Lyric Theatre - New York

Overall the skill of the dancers was amazing. However, I was disappointed by how over-the-top and sensationalized the show was. If you just focus on the performers' feet, it is an excellent show. But all the robot costumes, fire machines, and randomness was just distracting. I thought they could have made the show more riveting with a more interesting storyline and did a better job of showcasing the performers skill.

    No dancing

by Anonymous on 12/23/15Lyric Theatre - New York

Mr. Flatley barely moves his feet. He really must think on retirement. The rest is almost the same. Far from the first Lord of the Dance I watched some years ago. We'll time is implacable.

    Deceptive

by Pattys0808 on 12/23/15Lyric Theatre - New York

This was presented as "featuring" Michael Flatley in his farewell performance - watching two short film clips of him dancing is not exactly the same. But, I guess being truthful wouldn't sell tickets. Very disappointing
