Wish I had actually seen Michael Flatley

by jsickl2 on 1/6/16Lyric Theatre - New York

I really enjoyed the show and the dancers that preformed were excellent. My friend and I went to an afternoon performance and were very disappointed to find out that Michael himself only preforms at evening performances. Part of the reason we went to see the show was to see Michael Flatley preform during his farewell tour. All the advertising I had seen pointed to him being more a part of the show than a prerecorded video. And if you can perform during the evening then why not in the afternoon as well. I do recommend the show but if you looking to actually see Michael preform make sure you do your research before purchasing tickets as he seems to pick and choose which shows he will be a part of.

    Lord of the Dance-Dangerous Games

by Anonymous on 1/6/16Lyric Theatre - New York

The show was very good. But it was the feeling of myself and talking to others at the show. That Michael Flatley would make more appearances during the show. There was what looked at the beginning and end of the show a video of him performing. It didn't look live. Disappointing that way

    Final Broadway show was amazing!!

by LouiC on 1/6/16Lyric Theatre - New York

Flatley and his troupe were amazing!! The Good v. Evil story line was very apparent throughout especially during the thunderous battle scenes. He taught the leads, James Keegan and Tom Cunningham, very well. The Irish step dancing was beautiful and very graceful! Very enjoyable and well worth the trip into the City!!!

    Flatley PresLordoftheDance-DangerousGames NY

by asrat on 1/6/16Lyric Theatre - New York

The way this was advertised and the basis for my purchase of 3 orchestra seats I feel was misleading! Even the material sold at the event lead me and my family to believe Michael Flatley would at least make an appearance. We chose a matinee and though the dancers were phenomenal , especially the men, the overall creative direction was not up to Flatley's usual outstanding presentation!! Not a particularly great send off or tribute to his Dad. Felt he could have done much better especially since it was dedicated to his Dad, perhaps his own life story in dance would have been more appropriate. Those of us in the audience kept hoping in vain that Michael Flatley would at least make a few minutes of the performance toward the end. THAT DID NOT HAPPEN and people were calling out his name and a few BOOS as well (that was terrible for the performers....they deserved better!!) I have seen clips of this performance before and it just wasn't the same at all....the mixing of the male and female just fell flat...too much ballet and not enough Irish Dance for the women. A few puffs of fire and loud bangs did not make up for the strange mixture put together as Dangerous Games!! We have seen Michael perform in person in the late 90s in Hartford, CT and realize that was a number of years ago and only expected to see him fly across the stage in person for a minute or two...didn't happen and I wouldn't recommend spending almost $200 a ticket for this particular presentation which is touring a number of cities and is going to Mohegan Sun. Loved the venue of Lyric Theater very much ...feel a smaller venue can be much more personal and involve the audience better but didn't help much.! We wish Michael Flatley a Happy New Year and all the best that retirement can bring him with his family. You gave us so much over the years and we are appreciative of that especially with Irish heritage!!!

    Flatley fantastic!

by Bartram on 1/6/16Lyric Theatre - New York

The show was absolutely fantastic. The dancers were superb and the atmosphere was fabulous. The icing on the cake was when Michael himself appeared towards the end! I would go and see the programme again even without his appearance. It was a breathtaking show and even my husband who isn't a fan enjoyed it!!

by GuitarGodWannabe on 1/5/16Lyric Theatre - New York

The show was terrific. The dancers were superb - exciting and full of energy. And to top it off we got to see the great Michael Flatley top off a great evening. Unfortunately for anyone else interested I believe the engagement is over.

I wasn't sure what to expect but I was very impressed with the format. They had a nice story line and the dancing was amazing. The ladies on the violins were GREAT! The entire show was very well put together and I was very satisfied and happy with the show.

    Positively spectacular

by Baker550 on 1/4/16Lyric Theatre - New York

Lord of The Dance has always been highly recommended to me. This was the first time I had the opportunity to see it and within 6 rows of the stage. The entire experience was wonderful and completely unforgettable.

    Lord of the Dance

by FRoc on 1/4/16Lyric Theatre - New York

We bought tickets with the knowledge the Flatley would be dancing, what we did not expect was the he was on stage for a total of 5 minutes and a video. very disappointed. On the other hand the rest of the cast and show was good, though sometimes confusing with the robot costumes, etc. The dancing was excellent, especially the group dances. Overall I would recommend it, tickets were to pricey as evidenced by a half empty theater.

    A Visually Stunning Evening

by MarySim on 1/4/16Lyric Theatre - New York

My husband and I attended the New Year's Day evening performance. The dancing and staging were wonderful, and the use of audio-visual effects made the event even more compelling. We made sure to get tickets for a show where Michael Flatley was making an appearance. Even though his time on stage was relatively brief, we were honored to see the master at work! His talent and genius is undeniable, and it will be sad to see him retire from active performance. The cast was extremely talented, and conveyed a clear story line through music and dance. We are so glad we went! We sat in Row J on the aisle (orchestra), and our view of all the action was great!

    Dancing at its best !!

by njsam on 1/4/16Lyric Theatre - New York

This show was similar to but different then RiverDance, another spectacular show. The moves were mind blowing as all dancers were in sync. The light and visual effects in the background were also amazing.

by Anonymous on 1/3/16Lyric Theatre - New York

Unaware at time of purchase "1st day of sale".. that Mr. Flatley would only be seen on video at the weekend matinees. Full price front row tickets were purchased...

Impressed new lead is so accomplished! Michael Flatley, of course, did not fail to impress. Story line draws you in and keeps you riveted! Very impressing, would see again in a second!!

by Knolls on 1/2/16Lyric Theatre - New York

Excellent show. Dancing is out of this world. Disappointed that Michael Flatley did not appear. Found out that he does not appear in matinees. Still the dancers were terrific and the Lord of the Dance amazing.

    Not a Michael Flatley performance!!!

by Rinkath2 on 1/2/16Lyric Theatre - New York

Very , very disappointed. Traveling from Massachusetts and not to know Michael was not performing was terrible. With the money we spent, we could of planned another show. Then to have to move from our seats " during the show" because they were double booked was infuriating. I said yes to recommending to a friend, but wanted to say no.
