Top 5 Shows of All-Time...
by Bryce Hancock on 8/17/25The Van Buren - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5...and I don't know what the other 4 are.
I have probably been to over a thousand performances at various venues or bars all over the world in my almost 50 years. To see Flatland so buttoned up in this great venue, a mere 7 years after I learned of them (as they opened up for William Clark Green at Last Exit Live in Phoenix) and 6 years after I saw them at Mile0Fest in KeyWest, completely captivating fans new and others that have been along for the ride, was amazing. I say all this, despite that they didn't even play 5 or more songs that are "hits"in my mind. A sign of a great artist and songwriter is one that fills the set with their storytelling, moves some to tears, makes others laugh and everyone sing along for almost two hours - and yet, are left yearning for more. Flatland will endure as long as they so choose because of their connection and their songs' connections with the fanbase - which will only grow in time.
So glad I made it out on a "school night"and was able to bring three others to their first Flatland experience.
