    Forgettable

by Bocha on 3/18/16Adler Theatre - Davenport

This production left much to be desired. Poor choreography, sound issues and while good effort felt I was watching a good high school or college performance. Have seen shows in Des Moines, Chicago and NY. Must be spoiled by what I have experienced in the past. We left at intermission!

    Flashdance - not flashy

    by KIFF2 on 3/18/16Adler Theatre - Davenport

It was so-so. Kinda flat. I would have left at intermission except I wanted to see the final scene. I don't think it was so much the fault of the actors, but just a so-so show overall. Songs were not memorable except "What a Feeling".

    Great Show .. Difficult parking

by DocVB on 3/18/16Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

The show was really great. But parking at Chrysler Hall leaves a lot to be desired.

    Flashdance Mediocre

by nanikin on 3/17/16Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

Like many others, we went to the play because we enjoyed the music from the movie version of Flashdance. Julia Macchio did a pretty good job with the lead role; however, we were disappointed with most of the other singers and thought performances to be just average. Given the narrow plot, this play was unusually long and the additional songs, while pleasant to listen to, did not really add to the story line. Some of the singers did not enunciate well and it was difficult to understand the words. The background ballet scenes were not well choreographed. There were some good points to the show. I enjoyed the shadowing of the dancers at Harry's and the scene where the water bucket spilled on the dancer. Julia did a great job with the dance to "What a Feeling" in the final scene. If you're a Flashdance fan, my recommendation would be save the money and just go watch the movie again.

    Flashdance had lots of engergy!

by LIttA1212 on 3/16/16Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - Morgantown

The play kept you interested. I loved the humor that was added. There were amazing talented singer/actors. My teenagers enjoyed this show a lot even though they didn't like the movie. It was well written and executed.

    Flashdance?

by VABTheatreGoer on 3/16/16Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

Was a bit confused by the production. Found it to be campy and not well done. Would it have cost anything to cut the neck of Alex's sweatshirt to at least try to capture the iconic off-shoulder style established by the movie? Was disappointed that very few of the songs from the movie's soundtrack were used. Acting and dancing was fair.

    Flashdance Was A Nice Production

by ThrilledWicked on 3/15/16Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

Flashdance at Chrysler Hall in Norfolk, VA, was a good production but Alex's male lead was a bit weak with the vocals at times. It could have been the mix on his microphone at certain points that distracted from his performance. All-in-all it was a lot of energy and worth going to see.

    Letdown

by thum on 3/15/16Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

I was disappointed and was expecting a stellar performance especially since Chrysler Hall has a reputation of having great shows and concerts. I didn't think I would ever regret spending what I did and bringing another couple as well, spending the money to stomach through that! It'll have to be something fantastic for me to return to another broadway show here locally...

Okay as long as they danced!

    by WEB999999 on 3/15/16Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

I was entertained as long as the characters were dancing (and in my opinion that was not enough!). Too many silly sub plots. Cast was very attractive and did a good job with what they had to work with. Lead female was very cute, great singing and dancing but her shrill nasally voice was a real turn off! This show has never played on Broadway and after seeing it I understand why.

    Flashdance was a big disappointment

    by Sue2you on 3/15/16Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

I was so disappointed with this production. It deviated too far from the original story line for my taste. They only included a couple of the original soundtrack songs too. I never met a musical I didn't like - until now.

    Flashdance fell flat!

by mlmaj on 3/15/16Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

We were unimpressed with the acting and singing in the first half of the performance. Kiki was head and shoulders above the others. After intermission the cast overall improved. The highlight being the iconic audition dance.

    Disappointed

    by ZAQ1XSW2CDE3vfr4 on 3/15/16Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

I was disappointed in the presentation of such a great movie. The actors all seemed to be singing off key. I was sitting in the Orchestra on the Floor, so there was no mistaking what I was hearing. Instead of Song, I was hearing the loud voices, and music in the background, hence; it wasn't really being sung. The lead actors presented their interpretations very well. At times, this show presented itself as if it was restrained by budgetary concerns.

    So bad it was funny!

by MrsMecheS on 3/15/16Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

This show was really just awful. If I could have gotten my money back, I would have. My husband and I both love the movie, but the performances in this play were the worst I've seen and we are avid theater goers. I'm not sure if it was a problem with the mics or the actors' voices, but above a certain pitch everyone sounded like chipmunks. The movements of the actress playing Alex were either stiff or violently jerky; she either looked awkward and still or like she was having a seizure. The set design and costumes were pretty minimal. Ladies, if you want your husbands to attend, make sure you sit in the first few rows for the scenes in the clubs; lots of bare bottoms and groping ;) There were so many parts that were so bad, like the Joan Jett cover, that we were laughing out loud at how horrible they were. Have you ever gone out in public and saw something that you found embarrassing and thought, "Who let you leave the house like that?" or turned to your spouse and said, "If I ever try to do/look/whatever that way, shoot me!" Well, that's what this entire show was basically made up of...

    Not recommended

by Transportchic on 3/15/16Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

I have been to numerous plays, many of which were musicals. This is the first time that I left at intermission. The acting, singing and dancing would have been better performed by a kindergarten class.

    Flashdance a disappointment!

by Tracitraci on 3/14/16Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

Slow story, singing was just Ok by the females. Disappointment with the lack of dancing. Very unforgettable musical. Feel as though I wasted my money. I've seen better high school musicals in Virginia Beach. Would not recommend seeing this to anyone.

    Great cast

by Jimmy41 on 3/13/16E.J. Thomas Hall - The University of Akron - Akron

Julia Macchio was dynamite as Alex Owens. The whole cast was very good. A very enjoyable evening.
