About

F**KED UP IN CONCERT:

F**ked Up have backed up their attention-grabbing name with some seriously aggressive punk since they formed in 2001. Propulsive favorites like "Crooked Head," "Paper the House," and "Queen of Hearts" deliver distorted riffs and hard-hitting drums that transform into raging epics in concert with mind-blowing extended instrumental workouts. Growling vocalist Damian Abraham takes things up a notch when he hurls himself into the mosh pit – turning ticket buyers into disciples as they join in on the anthemic choruses. F**ked Up's envelope-pushing, in-your-face performances go beyond the typical punk rock concert experience, and hardcore fans love taking part in the pandemonium.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Just like many of their punk rock forbearers, Toronto's F**ked Up built their reputation on the back of small shows and regional touring for their first five years. They released a prolific run of singles on small record labels during that time before dropping their full-length debut Hidden World in 2006. The following year they made their first televised appearance with a furious performance of "Baiting the Public" on Canada's MTV Live, and in 2009 their sophomore album The Chemistry of Common Life earned the prestigious Polaris Prize – an annual honor awarded to the best Canadian album by a panel of more than 200 journalists, broadcasters, and bloggers. They continued to expand their artistic horizons with David Comes to Life in 2011 – an 18-song concept album that also won critical praise – and they show no signs of letting up as they deliver more passionate performances and impressive recorded output, including 2014's Glass Boys.

Love this band, and venue. Staff was great. Fans were wonderful. And seeing one of the greatest bands of all time playing a masterpiece album front to back, nothing like it.

craziest show ive ever seen! great time, hope they come back

  • Wavves and Fucked Up were just great.

by BeckyBowman on 9/26/11Webster Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Both bands are fundamentally fantastic and did a great job translating their energy into a live performance. The crowd was hella energetic, mirroring the bands. Loved every minute, and was lucky enough to be at the gate.

  • Fucked Up at the Royale - Awesome!

The show was wonderful. Fucked up put on a great performance and the two opening acts were good too. The band was very accommodating to stage diving, moshing, and even took part in it themselves, which made for a very exciting show! The only downside is that the Royale's shows are so early - doors at 5:30, show done by 9:30pm - because they want to be able to open the venue up for the club scene at night. Kind of lame. Other than that, a great time!

The show was great and would have been even better if I didn't have to buy tickets from Ticketmaster and pay their outrageous service fees.
