Fit for a King on Tour
Like the best metalcore bands, Fit for a King offer an uncompromising, high-energy live show full of chugging riffs, clean and unclean vocals, and thudding drums. Accordingly, this approach leads to plenty of headbanging, onstage and in the crowd, as well as ferocious mosh pits. However, the group's penchant for more melodic elements ensures a Fit for a King show also has moments of soaring, dynamic urgency full of emotional heft.
Fit for a King are road warriors known for teaming up with other metalcore and deathcore bands. In 2013, Fit for a King appeared on the Scream the Prayer tour alongside Silent Planet, Wolves at the Gate and Everyone Dies in Utah, while the group has also toured with Ice Nine Kills, Light the Torch, Emmure, After the Burial and Awake at Last, and performed on Warped Tour and at the Uprise Festival.
Fit for a King Background
Fit for a King originally coalesced in Tyler, Texas, in 2007 as a sextet featuring drummer Jared Easterling and a variety of other local musicians. The band debuted the following year with a self-titled EP, and in 2009 came out with a second EP, Awaken the Vesper. In 2011, Fit for a King self-released their first full-length, Descendants, which led to a label deal with the heavier Tooth & Nail imprint Solid State Records. From there, the group started taking off and amassing a larger audience.
Their 2013 label debut Creation/Destruction charted on the Billboard Top 200 and Christian Albums charts. Fit for a King continued releasing well-regarded albums that sold well. In fact, the band's subsequent three albums — 2014's Slave to Nothing, 2016's Deathgrip and 2018's Dark Skies — all reached the Top 3 of Billboard's Christian Albums chart. In May 2020, Fit for a King announced a special collaboration with We Came as Romans: the latter's Dave Stephens appeared on a new version of Fit for a King's "Backbreaker."
Fit for a king was absolutely amazing! Great stage presence, all band members are amazing! Will definitely see them again!
Fit For A King always puts on an amazing show. This was my second time seeing them and they are so energetic, sound just like (if not better) than they do on their records. Not to mention they seem like super kind dudes who are so appreciative. 10/10 can’t wait until they come back!
Fit for a King never disappoints. All the supporting acts have been just as good!!
The environment is cool, the bars are nice, you should offer more than just chips to snack on. And nobody should have to deal with a 200 lb. Drunk Dude crowd surfing 20 times per song. He should have been escorted out. For that I’m truly disappointed.
It was an amazing show ! I’ve waited a long time to see Fit For A King with the last time seeing them was at a San Diego Warped Tour. They did not disappoint! 10 for 10 my favorite band
I love the theaters in DTLA. The architecture alone always makes for a unique experience. I like Fit for a King, but I was there for Northlane both bands delivered great performances. Their support bands Kingdom of Giants and Alpha Wolf are now on my radar. The energy of Kingdom of Giants got me out of the lounge and on my feet from the start. I highly recommend checking out any of these bands.
Alright here's my honest review. I've seen Fit for a king three times now and it just gets worse. Ryan is an incredible vocalist and has continued to improve and is a menace. The drummer is awful. Bass and gtr were mid. Not sure how they are headlining a tour.
The show was f@&$ing awesome. I would see them again when they are in town.
All the bands were great! Fit bringing out a guest singer was cool. I do wish Alpha Wolf had a longer set, but overall was very satisfied.
FFAK was insane! Amazing performance, tuck on the bass is a performance in itself
Fit for a King never fails to impress me I love that band so much The other bands were awesome too as well
YES THEY ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing show. Had an amazing time, the engery in the room was consistent and maintained through every single band and song.
I bought tickets for Avoid. This is the 3rd time I’ve seen them. They are incredible! This was my first time hearing any of the other bands. FFAK was really good. I enjoyed the whole show, but mostly Avoid. Avoid Kicks Ass
The Summit is a rad venue that is large enough to host a decent crowd, but not so large that you lose the benefits of an intimate experience. I absolutely LOVED seeing Fit for a King there and will be back every time they host this band!
Fit for a king and the other bands did not disappoint
This was my first time seeing Fit for a King I and it definitely won’t be the last. They were nothing short of incredible. I also took my 13 year old daughter and she says ‘yeah I was born in the rain!’
It was a fun night! Fit For a King was good, but it seemed like their sound check was off... the bassists mic was extraordinarily high and the lead vocals and guitarists vocals needed to be higher at times. Otherwise, great. I stood from the very center behind the sound guys as well, so I don’t think this plays into my position. crystal lake that opened prior to FFK was awesome ps. Ticket process was very easy and the night was smooth. Super grateful to get to watch FFK despite the virus stuff going on.
