First day did not have clear signage on will call line to stand in. Last day the awards were very poorly organized. Numerous parents could not get down to the podium to take pictures of their wrestlers. Security stopped parents from going to the podium floor however did not have those who had already taken pictures removed from the floor. Many parents were extremely upset.
I took my Grandson and his best friend who both just missed going to the State finals by one match so they could see the talent and what it was like! Both of these young men are Freshmen and it was a great experience for them both!
The lineup and setup is excellent! I would like to recommend a couple things though. Change the fries so that those needing gluten free can eat them otherwise they are limited to only acai, popcorn and a side salad. The popcorn was way over salted! The big square screen display was extremely hard to read with the black background to see the green and red letters. Whatever it was last year was much easier to read. Not sure if there was technical difficulties, but many of us were disappointed with not having the lights display during the countdown. Love that you now allow spectators to leave and return. Otherwise great experience, it’s surreal to be at this competition!
Purchased all 5 sessions ahead of time. Still had to wait for an hour at will call to pick them up. They should have been made available digitally just like the tickets you bought for individual sessions. Very inconvenient. Prices at the concessions are ridiculous. Otherwise, the event was ran smoothly.

This tournament is a HUGE undertaking! Coach Tribit and his staff did an amazing job of keeping everything running smoothly.
Buying tickets was confusing because it said they had to be printed and couldn’t be done on a phone then after waiting 30 minutes at will call found out we could have used the barcode on our phone. Entry on the website said 11 am. Coaches email said 11:30 and then we got there and got online at 10:30 to find out it was 12:30. Food options had very little for wrestlers and those with special diets. I emailed the catering company for a waiver due to allergies and never heard back so I had one option for food all 3 days. Luckily they had the acai bowl booth which doesn’t look like it is normally there. WiFi connection was horrible or nonexistent. Bathrooms were exceptionally clean. Announcer was great but way too loud. Waiting in between every other match for awards was annoying instead of at the end. Trainers were amazing and so many of them! Looked like the refs were very fare and did an excellent job! Overall seating and mat organization was great.
No Eticket or mobile ticket was an option when I purchased tickets. In the past years it was available. Not sure why this happened. Kind of a pain to go find a printer to print off tickets.
The place is clean especially the bathrooms! The seating is comfortable and buying the tickets online is fairly easy. There are various food options. The best food and drinks is at the bar! I would of given 5 stars but for a high school event the was no re-entry which was unclear on the website!!
Buying tickets was a hassle. I purchased 2 tickets for the wrong time slot for Saturday and was refused a refund. With a 2 strip chicken plate with fries costing $12 and a bag of popcorn $5 the least they could do was to refund 2 tickets that were purchased by mistake. I was told at the gate I would receive a refund but was told through the refund process the organizer was not giving refunds at this time.

The silver spurs should have been better prepared, this is not their first rodeo, pun intended. The line to get tickets at will call was long and in the hot sun. I was not able to use my phone to show the ticket. It was unbelievable that they stated on day one there was no re-entry and we were stuck inside all day without sweaters, personal items like phone chargers, etc. the food was overpriced and a very poor selection. The wrestlers cutting weight had very little healthy choices and they were only allowed 1 drink and 1 snack which does not work. They need to eat after they weigh in and need something in between matches. Breaded chicken and fries is not their choice of food. The most excruciating thing for me was the all day advertisement banners with flashing lights that dimmed and got brighter. It was very distracting from the event that was very well run. I really like the announcer, he did an excellent job. Why would you only use 1 gate for entry and only 1 -2 persons collecting money to park? There may have been another gate, I’m not sure. The ticket buying process was a little confusing. I like the go fan app much better. It is user friendly and you can easily transfer tickets.
Please give people who buy tickets there is no need for bleacher chairs(we were told by the coach to bring them) so we had to leave the entry line and bring them to our cars. There was confusion about not have our iphone pre paid tickets not being accepted and needed paper tickets. Please tell people no beverages or food are allowed to be brought inside. A directory or signage to let us know where the food is located. Why were the ladies delayed from continuing to wrestle and instead had to wait for the boys mats to finish. There may be a reason but would like to know what it is. The bathrooms were kept pristine thankfully to a lady keeping up on it for the day. I thank her and who ever thought to do it! Hopefully we will be down next year. Thank you for trying to improve this for all who attend. Congratulations to all the wrestlers that made it this year!!
Now we have to spend 3 days, pay multiple times a day to see our kids wrestle. The FHSAA is ridiculous, sqeezing every last dime they can out of families with no thought to actually having a good event.
I completely understand that it’s all about the bottom line. However when there are athletes I feel they should be able to bring in what they need to be sure they are performing their safest and best and that should include special drinks or special foods. I also feel the prices for simple food and beverages available to purchase were priced extremely high. It felt like price gouging because we had no choice unless we could leave coolers in our vehicles, but that meant potential long walks away from the event. Entry Process I thought was well done. Staff friendly. And bathrooms were pretty clean. Parking attendants need better training.
Was a first rate. The only thing you could do is start the finals a little earlier.

Parking was better this year. Challenges: 1) Spectators AND WRESTLERS were NOT allowed to bring in their own food or drink. NO healthy choices - $3.00 for a bottle of water. How can you not let WRESTLERS bring in their own food - Shocking. Terrible. 2) NO cameras allowed in the arena (except phones). AND, our photographer was denied credentials - so there are not any pictures that capture the excitement of our wrestlers winning a title. Shameful. 3) Trainers (some large trainers) were permitted to stand the entire day. When mats were rolled, the empty space allowed coaches and wrestlers to stand in front of the mats. These situations blocked our view. No consideration for parents in the stands. Sad. Hope we go somewhere else next year!!
The venue was nice as well as the staff I encountered. I don’t think the officiating was the best, but wrestling is very exciting to watch. Glad our team had the opportunity to participate. I did feel like the refs were biased concerning teams they were more familiar with but I guess all of that is considered “judgement calls.”
This venue is small and perfect for small events. There are cases where the Amway Center is too big, where this arena fills in the gaps.
