Daily Events could have been better explained
by equestrianviewer on 4/1/17CenturyLink Center Omaha - OmahaIt was HIGHLY exciting to know the FEI World Cup would be in Omaha - possibly a once in a lifetime experience! When one went to purchase tickets the daily roster should have been explained. There is only 2 days of competition for the dressage horses at this event. The rest is filler. The first day should have been labeled workouts with an explanation. The Grand Prix was exciting, but for laymen the pattern & movements should have been explained - there were MANY questions in my section, nearly so many as to not be able to concentrate on the horses & riders. While the "clinic" was interesting, it was a class, only good for the rider on one of the 3 horses - no explanation of what horse was doing or what she wanted - just corrections. The funny man who rode funny dressage was ok - maybe needed for the under 11 kids in the audience. The saddle & local trainer "advertisements" were unnecessary. At this level there should have been high level trainers used to explain & engage the crowds as "filler". We would go again, but only to the competitions. I believe the jumping was more engaging from what I heard.
