    Dressage World Cup AMAZING!

by Anonymous on 4/4/17CenturyLink Center Omaha - Omaha

The CenturyLink in Omaha is a world class facility. Omaha is a World Class city. Everything was contained in the CenturyLink. The food court was next to the warm-up ring and you could watch the riders and horses warming up while eating some surprisingly good food. Our seats gave us a complete view of the arena including the celebrity seats. We were able to watch everything. The vendors were well laid out, The volunteers were so friendly and helpful. Many volunteer were local and not familiar with horse shows. They were very interested and curious so there were several good conversations. The demonstration rides and exhibitions were close and easy to reach. Overall and excellent experience at the World Cup. I plan to bring my husband back to Omaha. It is a beautiful city with statuary, modern and traditional, throughout the city. the Durham and Joslyn museums are excellent. Everyone in Omaha was friendly and accommodating. There are many hotels and the Market area has good food and lots of great shopping. Over all a better than expected experience.

    FEI World Cup was fan-tastic!!!!!

by RiderUp on 4/3/17CenturyLink Center Omaha - Omaha

I've been to the WEG, World Championships and Rolex 4* several times so I have some history attending big international events. What really impressed me about the World Cup was just what the organizers hoped to create. It's European "feel." Having the competitors warming up for both dressage and stadium right in the middle of the shopping and dining venues was other-worldly. They were literally just a few feet away from us. And everyone had the opportunity to watch these amazing equine and rider athletes up close. I've never been so close to the action before. It was truly a 5* experience! The entire event was superbly well organized and offered something for everyone. Educational opportunities for the young and young at heart. Films, demonstrations and hands-on areas were plentiful and FREE! Other educational opportunities which did cost were worth the priceof admission. Isabel Worth's training session with three riders was a huge treat! I paid close attention as she reaffirmed the basics I've been taught all my life. Brett Kidding's training demonstration was also very good and his exhibition was hilarious! For those of us who required a little retail therapy we were not disappointed. The vendors were varied, accessible and not overly crowded. They even stayed open late into the evening to accommodate everyone. On Friday night my friend and I went out to dinner and then went back to the CenturyLink Center to do some shopping afterward. It was very relaxing! And what can I say about the competition itself? The creme de la creme of both dressage and show jumping. Laura Graves scored a personal best with an 85 and change. And Isabell Worth put in a stunning ride to garner a 90% which is about as rare as the Hope Diamond! We were all lucky to have seen both. Then there was McLain Ward and his remarkable mare, HH Azur. She was foot perfect the entire event. Not one rail down. And McLain, after many years and multiple tries finally achieved his goal of winning a World Cup - and on home soil! The crowd went wild! Added to all this were Mannheim Steamroller, the Omaha orchestra and plentiful autograph opportunities for fans. Omaha outdid themselves and huge cudos go to the organizers and volunteers! I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

if you've only seen it on TV you haven't seen it

by spacehorse on 4/3/17CenturyLink Center Omaha - Omaha

Omaha pulled out all the stops for the first FEI World Cup held in the middle of the United States. Flags from countries all over the world hung from the rafters, and show jumping fans from all over the country eagerly watched as the best of the best rode in the second phase of the three-phase championship. Horse sports don't translate well to television. You need to see the effort put in by both horse and rider, and you need to see the entire course from start to finish to appreciate how much skill and trust is involved in jumping the massive fences at this level. The course was testing, but it was possible to win with a double clear round within the time-and McClain Ward and "Annie" did just that. I'm glad I was there to see it!

    World Class!

by WRFRhiannon on 4/3/17CenturyLink Center Omaha - Omaha

The freestyles to music are always a joy to watch. But to have the chance to watch this number of Olympians all on their best horses, was beyond all expectations. Seeing Isabell Werth score an astounding 90% was (for I believe the first one ever) was magical. Better than that was the US's Laura Graves score 85.307% on a horse she bought as a weanling, was pure joy. Verdades was deemed unridable at one point in his life. Watching this tiny girl & her "unridable" mount connect so completely that every bit of that energy and power was focused in a gutsy and brilliant ride was beyond words. I felt her ride was technically more difficult than Isabell's and could see no flaws. Watch out Isabell, Laura and Diddy are on the rise.

    Omaha Equestrian World Cup=Incredible

by WRFRhiannon on 4/3/17CenturyLink Center Omaha - Omaha

The best riders on their best horses all in Omaha! An incredible line up w Steffen Peters + Rosamunde, Laura Graves+Vardades, Isabell Werth+Weihegold, Carl Hester+ Nip Tuck, and also Edward Gal, Kasey Perry-Glass and eight other Oympians. And with Axel Steiner giving a play by play commentary by earphone. Unforgettable! I never thought I'd see this lineup of dressage stars all in the US. All of it played out in a pristine arena with world class accommodations for the horses and riders. If you weren't there, you really missed out. From the newspaper accounts the riders LOVED the Omaha facilities and effusive American audiences. I feel sure they'll be back sometime!

It was a thrill that this international event came to Omaha, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. With bated breath, we rooted for everyone to do well. The horses were beautiful and the riders skilled and elegant. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to attend.

FEI is World Class and so is Omaha

by Spurs2saddles on 4/3/17CenturyLink Center Omaha - Omaha

Even without attending previous FEI World Cups, this one in Omaha has to rank near the top. The facilities under one roof made it convenient. Even more the arena was awesome in every way from sight lines to sound system and comfort of seating. Not a bad seat in the house. Plus the Superbowl and NBA Championship do not feature as many all star athletes as the amazing horses we saw competing. You don't have to be a horse lover to be smitten by their power and grace. Wonderful!!!

    I fell asleep!

by JustaBluecowgirl on 4/3/17CenturyLink Center Omaha - Omaha

"Showcase" was less than I expected. I thought it was going to be competitive, apparently I chose the wrong session. The horses were amazing and the riders obviously were upper tier, but I found it did not sustain my interest.

    World Cup Jumping Final

by ArboristChip on 4/3/17CenturyLink Center Omaha - Omaha

My wife dragged me to this, but I thought, oh well, yes dear. Boy was I wrong!! It was a great event, and yes it was exciting. How those horses got over the jumps is beyond me. I think what I really liked is the audience participation - no matter who was jumping. The audience didn't care if someone was from Germany or Belgium or Egypt. If they dropped a jump the audience felt bad for them. Class act from the people in Omaha.

by Moffers on 4/2/17CenturyLink Center Omaha - Omaha

My daughter and I attended the events at the fabulous CenturyLink Center. Everything exceeded our expectations. All the horses and riders were so special to watch. The event center was the perfect place to host this event. Everything under one roof was user friendly and made sense. All the food vendors and the vendors were top notch. Customer service on all levels was over the top! Thanks so much for a memorable experience. Oakley from Colorado

Longines World Cup Jumping Training Session

by Jennyloveshorses on 4/1/17CenturyLink Center Omaha - Omaha

I have attended this event several times in Berlin and it is AMAZING! I went with my 3 small children and we all loved it. The vendors are great, lots of things to do with the children - the parade of horses is also fun to watch. The training session is just as fun as the actual competition event. The only complaint I have is that it was quite pricey for only an hour of jumping. It was suppose to go from 2:00 - 5:00pm and they started tearing down at 3:00.

    Wow!! Such talent

by PegasusCircleFarm on 4/1/17CenturyLink Center Omaha - Omaha

I don't think the Midwest has seen such amazing Dressage! We got to see many Olympic riders/horses! Demonstrations, movies, Vendor's, Mounted Police, and so much more! Omaha impressed all with their city, Event & Conference Center (CenturyLink), organization, eye for detail, people, hotels, restaurants, and (of course) shopping!! They had activities for kids, hands on learning for kids, etc. I think Omaha surprised & impressed the world and if the FEI World Cup returns to Omaha I will be one of the first planning a trip!
