The venue and the event were great! Purchased the VIP package and wished TM would have had DETAILED instructions that the VIP part of the event was pretty far from the event seats. It was not intuitive but the event staff were able to point us in the right direction.
It’s so wonderful that Omaha brought this great event to us. To see these world class athletes, this close to home, is an opportunity of a lifetime
Was thrilled to have this amazing event in Omaha after how wonderful 2017 was.... but this year was lacking in some big ways. First let me say the good - and the reason for the stars in my rating: the competitions were phenomenal - the athletes (human and equine) were incredible. We attended all jumping sessions and some of the vaulting and dressage as well. The level of competition exceeded expectations in all ways. Omaha is great, the venue is nice and convenient and the educational opportunities open to the public at no charge with access to viewing the warm up arena.... it is such a rare set up and it is wonderful. The inclusion of the Bluebird Initiative and the stories of the native people of the great plains geographical region hosting the event was also special all week - I only wish there would have been even more in terms of the presentation at the events. Now the bad: the stands were mostly empty. everything felt much more lackluster and like it was done on a shoestring budget compared to 2017 (maybe it was). There were not even real flags displayed for the winning athlete ceremonies they put them on a screen. There appeared to be very little in the way of community outreach and education for the event - no one I talked to even knew it was happening. The local community, including many horse knowledgeable people, seemed very confused about why this event was different than the International horse show that is hosted in Omaha yearly. And the biggest miss of all - the ticket pricing. The athletes deserved the stands to be full, but instead the big arena felt empty. Prices across the board were so high that many people I talked to chose to go to only one session instead of several - if they chose to attend at all. Had they focused the high pricing to only the most premium seats and VIP packages, and made the rest of the venue much more affordable it may have been a different story. Such a shame, and a missed opportunity for a city known for showing up and supporting all types of sporting events. I hope this final gets back to Omaha in the future, but if it does something needs to change to bring in an audience again.
Lovely show and a fun time for all. Very easy to access my tickets and get in and out of the venue. Good security presence was reassuring. I wish they had booths with merchandise. I couldn’t see anywhere to buy sweatshirts or lunch bags or anything. They were just selling snacks and beverages — that could’ve been better.
Great area and nice clean environment- meet and great winners after the show would of been nice with the cost of tickets kinda high
Amazing Opportunity to see the top horse in the world perform in a comfortable accessible arena. The same horses that won gold at the Tokyo Olympics plus some new kids on the block. We were able to get fantastic seats without being crammed in like sardines. The crowd was respectful and the horses were fantastic.
The horses and riders at the WEG were wonderful to watch, but it was a hard not to be angry. I paid $800 for a seat to watch 2 days of dressage, but due to the empty stadium, folks with cheaper tickets were given seats down low, just to "fill" the stadium. I bought tickets early and they were very much over-priced. The horses were lovely.
I have been to FEI the last 3 years and have seen all of the events. These events are wonderful but they are esoteric. They do not draw a crowd. I would suggest seating the half-bowl from the outset instead of re-seating upper bowl tix to the lower level, as was done on the 6th. Bite the bullet. Go half-bowl and have twice as much fun.
Loved watching the dressage, show jumping and vaulting! Wonderful competition, venue and shopping!
It’s such a gift to have the FEI worlds come to Omaha. Everything runs so smoothly.
Overall enjoyable experience, but came up short in the following areas: Tickets were quite expensive therefore attendance suffered. When you did buy better seats, spectators above you were invited to move down to seats even closer than your costly ones. I could have saved a lot of $ doing this. Even when purchasing tickets there were so many “sold out “ seats on the chart selection was limited, yet those seats were empty. I think I bought my tickets in February., so not super earl, but not at the window. Concessions on vendor level inadequate Day sheets ran out at each event I tried to get one so following order of go was difficult and impossible to write down from a phone picture. No welcoming/information booth to orient spectators. At least the city of Omaha had some standing around…if you just happened to run in to them. Schedules all through QR codes with no hard copies for people without smart phones or understanding the system I have attended 2 WC in Las Vegas and the previous one in Omaha. As a comparison, in my opinion, this one did not reach the standard of previous the events.
Incredible riders and easy to navigate venue made for an unforgettable experience.
This my 4th FEI World Cup Equestrian- 2 in Vegas and 2 in Omaha. All great experiences, but Omaha is more relaxed but still has lot to do & of course fantastic competition with the best horses & riders in the world. Especially enjoyed the inclusion of Native Americans in the program.
The FEI World Cup Finals was excellent. Very well organized and everything appeared to run smoothly. The vendors were very helpful. Great variety.
Way to expensive. The 13-16 rides were not enough. The time off work… it should have been a 3 day venue max. And the tickets should be much less expensive.
The event was a little disorganized as far as disseminating information. Also the seats were barely filled for events in part I believe due to the inflated seat prices. This was an event which moves all over the world and embarrassing when it's in the states to have so few people to support our athletes
Over priced tickets for all the equine events. “No seat available” online/at the event but day of the events there was no one in the stands. If the price was less the venue may have filled. Sorry for all the riders that worked so hard to get there.
Loved every minute of this event and hope I can continue to come
What an astounding experience!! Amazing horses, riders, and seeing an American win on home turf!! Once in a lifetime experience!
