Great time watching the pros play golf in oppressive heat. Lots of walking and shade is hard to find . Very poor info. for finding your car in the confusing parking lots.
Enjoyed seeing the golfers. Bus transportation was great. Food for spectators was scarce and terribly long lines. Beer offering was terrible. Only selection was Stella and Michelob Ultra.
Boy was it hot!! The tournament and the facilities were everything that we expected. We sat in The Michelob Ultra Club and I can’t imagine being out in the sun all day with the extreme heat. The Club was wonderful and made our experience so much better. We’ll be back next year.
It was a great tournament, great viewing experience, and you can get around the course relatively easy. Concession stands were very well placed in my opinion. It’s also August and ALWAYS hot and humid here in West TN. I was hoping for more shaded grandstands or grandstands in general. Something to get away from the sun. I wish the merchandise shop was a little bigger and a little more selection. It was crowded in there the few times I went. Overall, it was a great tournament as a fan.
Everything ran smoothly. Had tickets for parking and tournament in my Apple wallet. They just scanned them and I went on. No hassle!
Found a shady spot on #9. Followed the shade of a large tree throughout the day. Enjoyed an occasional breeze. Able to see our favorites. Missed a few newcomers that we are following now. Wish there were more hydration stations or misting areas throughout the course. Wish the tee times were earlier for the players so they could avoid some of the heat. Beautiful course. Will continue attending this event. Love it. Love FedEx. Love St. Jude. Love PGA golf!!!
Every aspect of our Thursday at the golf tournament was well organized, directions were easy to understand and all workers were very accommodating. We got a good weather day, enjoyed seeing the best golfers in the world on a beautiful but tough golf course. This was my 4th time to attend the event and I plan to bring my 80-year-old back in 2024, God willing! Thanks to Memphis for a great tournament!
I’m so glad Memphis finally has a meaningful tournament with a very classy field. The downside is everything has gone corporate at the tournament. The FedEx employee chalet has been gone for three years now. We were initially told it was due to COVID. That wasn’t the case. There is no reprieve from the brutal sun and heat for the casual attendee. It would be nice to sit in a covered viewing area and not have to pay $400+ for the ability to do so. I had heat exhaustion on Friday and tip my hat to the First Aid people near the practice facility. I’m sure that had plenty of business during the week. I’m sure attendance was down due to the weather from last years, and prior. Until the PGA, FedEx and St. Jude pay more attention to making the regular clientele comfortable I will not be back…
You don't have enough areas for general seating, especially when the weather is very hot.
The Michelob Ultra Tent was not what I thought it would be. There were not a lot of food options in the tent, exspecially since food wasn’t covered in the $275.00 price tag. I guess it is worth it for those who are heavy drinkers. The tent could also have either had more fans or cooling areas if not air conditioned. The bathrooms how ever were nice and felt like walking in fridges.
Everything from purchasing parking and entrance passes was easy and quick! The shuttle drivers were friendly and professional and the entrance to the course was easy! This my 4th tournament and I plan to be back next year if my health at 80 will allow it! Thanks for the hospitality! Jim Mac
If you have never been to see professional golf and love the game it’s a must go. TV does not come close to how they hit the ball and the flight is just crazy. I was so proud of Lucas Glover and started watching him Thursday and he hammered all weekend to win. Looking forward to the Fed X , next year.
The talent pool was second to none, and I went out Friday to walk 18 with McIlroy, Rahm and Scheffler. I knew it was going to be extremely hot and humid and that hydration would play an essential role in safely being in those elements. While all of the workers/volunteers were friendly, they could not tell me where a hydration station was. I brought a water bottle that was smaller than the one I would have chosen, but I read the rules as to what was allowed and it stated your water bottle must be 32L. Maximum and empty when entering and exiting. So I left my 40L bottle home. When I entered, I filled my water bottle. I ran out and nobody could tell me where the next place to fill it up at a hydration station would be, so I bought a $5.00 water and lunch. It's a good thing I was well hydrated before getting to this event. I also didn't see any misting showers, but I didn't ask anyone about those. The volunteers were very friendly and they were able to point to refreshment stands, but not so much on the hydration stations, so that's why I rated the experience a 4.
military tent was great for active duty and all military veterans. they insured every one at hole 8 remained hydrated. they gave out great gifts and had plenty of snacks.
I loved being at the Classic. Transportation to and from parking was very efficient. Everything was so clean and well marked. It was cart path only due to recent storms, so pedestrians had to share the same path as the organizers using carts to move people and equipment which was a challenge. All in all we had a great time.
I’ve been several times and its always a good time. I do wish you had some air-conditioned observations tents around the course that we could pay to go in get something to drink and watch the golf.
Ticketmaster delivered the tickets on time and it was easy to move them to my AppleWallet. The volunteers at Southwind were the heart of a great experience. Had a wonderful time watching the top 70 players.
An awesome event! Great support started in parking! Fantastic venue with lots to do! Followed our boi (Lee Hodges). on the back nine, and my wife stayed in the Ultra tent with a bum knee- she was well taken care of, and the views of #11 are the best! Will come again! Btw, don’t miss The Commissary’s BBQ!!!
Everyone was courteous and very professional. The merchandise tent staff was very helpful. Joe, Lee and Will made sure our visit was great. Concessions were great as well.
