    DISAPPOINTED IN LOSS

by ETEPAPA on 11/9/10Valley View Casino Center - San Diego

I BROUGHT MY 13 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER TO SEE A VERY IMPORTANT EVENT. WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE LOSS. I HAVE BEEN PLAYING TENNIS SINCE I WAS ABOUT 10 YEARS OLD (NOW 60). I HAVE BEEN IN THE US FOR ALMOST 40 YEARS. IT IS VERY DISAPPOINTING TO SEE THAT AT THIS POINT IN TIME WE DO NOT HAVE GOOD ENOUGH PLAYERS TO REPRESENT THE NATION. KNOWING THAT THE WILLIAM SISTERS ARE NURSING INJURIES AND ALSO AWARE OF THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN TREATED WITH PATRIOTISM BY WALL STREET, ONE WANDERS IF THIS MAY NOT HAVE "AGGRAVATED" THE PANGS OF THEIR INJURY. NO ONE HAS THUS FAR POINTED TO THIS AND IT IS ALWAYS BETTER NOT ACKNOWLEDGE SUCH. MARY JO FERNANDEZ I FELT SHOULD HAVE PLAYED MELODY OUIDIN IN FIRST MARCH ON SATURDAY. THIS WOULD HAVE GIVEN US A BETTER CHANCE OF DECIDING IN DOUBLES. I DO MIND PLAYING COCO. SHE DOES NOT HAVE THE TOURNAMENT EXPERIENCE AND TOUGHNESS TO HAVE BEEN MADE TO CARRY SUCH RESPONSIBILITY.

Where were the Williams sisters? I ordered tickets early and even though they were the cheap seats they were best available and still sucked. No perks for early buyers? The crowd should have been encouraged to move closer earlier in the event. Lots, lots of empty seats. Also, the award ceremony could have included the USA a bit more. It was awkward.

One of the best ive been at

by BRMack on 11/9/10Valley View Casino Center - San Diego

The tennis matches were great! We were even able to get a few autographs at the end of the matches. The overall experience was amazing!

The event itself was terrific. I wished that doubles was played on the first day. The parking rate of 20 dollars was totally absurd!! And the fact that they wouldn't let you bring in even a water was ridiculous also. They almost didn't let me bring in my camera!!

    We missed Venus & Serena

by Viareggio on 11/9/10Valley View Casino Center - San Diego

The FedCup event was well staged. We enjoyed the preliminary ceremonies in general. The Marine color guard was great as they always are. The "Drummers" were lame - I have heard much better drumming in Hawaii at a Luau. ACE the Eagle was good. The music was too loud With regard to the Tennis, we bought the tickets because Venus and Serena had committed to play. They were said to be injured and did not play. We felt cheated a little since we had paid $300 each for the best seats we could get during the USTA pre-sale. Nevertheless, Mary Joe Fernandez did an excellent job of managing the FedCup team to the finals. It is too bad that Bethanie Mattet-Sands was sick and could not play her best tennis. Kudos to Melanie Oudin for her gutsy win to keep the US team in the match.

we did enjoy it but the American were just out matched without the Williams sisters. If the tickets were alittle more affordable you would of had more people come.

FED CUP tennis in San Diego was great!

by Flaviafan on 11/9/10Valley View Casino Center - San Diego

Even though the USA didn't win, the excitement and enthusiasm of the fans was great! Very sporting in the stands between the Italian and American spectators. We had a lot of fun!

    Great event overall

by Scottivercillo on 11/8/10Valley View Casino Center - San Diego

I'm Italian-American, so there was no better final matchup. Even though Francesca beat CoCo and Flavia beat Bethanie, it wasn't a definite loss till Sunday (I did not attend that day). I also really like the venue. Most people hate old stadiums/arenas, but I think they're great, because you know they were a lot more cost efficient to construct. Newer venues are often ridiculously expensive to build. Too bad the Clippers moved to LA or SD doesn't have a hockey team.

    Fed Cup was awesome!

by MariettaTennisFan on 4/27/10BJCC Arena - Birmingham

Two days of great tennis! Too bad it wasn't promoted as much as the Davis Cup and not as many people came to see what great talent the USA and Russian woman have.

    fed cup awesome

    by mickey1 on 4/27/10BJCC Arena - Birmingham

Great tennis over all looking forward to the final between the USA and ITALY in November. They could get more items to sell to the public like flag pins with both countries or logo lapel pins fed cup jackets

    Fed Cup US vs Russia

    by Beage2 on 4/27/10BJCC Arena - Birmingham

I know that the US was not supposed to win, especially since neither of the Williams sisters were playing, but the tennis was wonderful and our kids played their hearts out and we did win. Fantistic!!

    Women's Doubles Match Was Awesome!!!

    by LoveTennis18 on 4/27/10BJCC Arena - Birmingham

I was very disappointed in the following I saw for women's tennis! It's not all about the men, you know!! The weather may have had something to do with low attendance...but it did not come in until late afternoon. There were many seats available where I could have sat in the center of the court instead of to the back...but I'm sure they would have been much more expensive! My seats were not terrible... I guess the lack of support for women's tennis just made my blood boil!

Fed Cup was great, lots of fun.

by Dixiedoddle on 4/26/10BJCC Arena - Birmingham

It was a great event. The only drawback was the weather and certainly no one could control that. Wish the turnout had been a little better but I think the crowd pulled them through. Need more "noise makers". Should have been given out at the door. There were only a few in the crowd but they kept things nice and loud. Need more next time. Food and drink was too expensive.

    Fed Cup Rocked!!!

by dixiepitts on 4/26/10BJCC Arena - Birmingham

Atmosphere was more personable than Davis Cup. The seating was closer so we all could be heard. You were right there with the action. The girls pumped us up and we helped them with noise. The matches were close and very exciting, probably too exciting. When it came to the doubles we were all so amazed that we almost forgot to make noise. I would love to go to the finals.
