What an incredible cast! Kelly Schaefer is so beautifully transparent as Helen, I saw people tearing up in the audience at the end. She is breathtaking in scope as an actress. I would go to see anything she does in the future! Dustin Thomas is so wonderful also, nailing the ambiguities of his character, You feel you truly know these people. I am just blown away by talent like this. Eric Lee as Carter is also wonderful and even though he plays the bad role, he infuses it with a humanity that makes you acknowledge the rough edges we all have......and where did they come from?

This play presents a stunning, in-depth portrayal of the nature of beauty, forcing us to examine our comfort level with the hypocrisy of a cultural dichotomy. Is it possible to go against the "matching hypothesis" and date somebody who is not on your level, appearance wise? It's heart-breakingly honest, presented with humor, style, and sophistication.
