They rocked the house just like they did last year. It was awesome.

  • They brought it!!!

by jjwam on 6/2/10The Roxy - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

I'm writing this kinda after the fact, because I just realized I could. This show was awesome!!! FFD rocked the house mightily and I was surprised to see what a following they have! Maybe it means we'll be hearing more of them. I hope so, the more the better! Their set was supreme.

The best horn section, the best singer, the dopest beats-the best night! Sincere thanks to all in Fat Freddy's that night, D.J. Jeremy, and the Roxy. I will always remember this performance, the friends I took with me, and the friends I made there.

Flew out from NYC to check out the US tour debut of Fat Freddy's Drop. Worth every penny. One of the best live acts I have ever seen. Do NOT miss The Drop if you have the opportunity to see them. AMAZING!

  • PROUD FRED-HEAD

by Cristylyn on 11/22/09Roxy Theatre - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Fat Freddy's Drop was the BOMB!!! Words can’t explain how they GROOVED the house!!!!!!!!! They know their calling! I’ve loved their CD’s but hear them so differently now. Hearing them live, at arms length away, the energy, and how humbled they were to the over excited crowd; they exceeded my expectations. I can’t wait till they go on a grand US tour; they have to play the Bowl in Santa Barbara!! Boondigga!!!!!!!!!

  • Can't get enough!

    by MuzikLuvr4life on 11/21/09Roxy Theatre - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

What an amazing show! I've been hooked on Fat Freddy's Drop since I first heard them a few years ago. Finally getting to see them last night left me yearning for more. Even better live than I had hoped for. The Roxy was packed and the band seemed humbled by the crowd's reaction (maybe they didn't know what a strong fan base they have here). We love you Fat Freddy's Drop! PLEASE come back soon!

  • Fat Freddy's Drop dropped it like its hot! :)

    by Jill1love on 11/21/09Roxy Theatre - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing!!!! First of all, The Roxy is a great intimate venue and anywhere you go you're close to the stage. Fat Freddy's Drop is a spectacular band, they put on a great show. The lead singer is very attractive and has an equally attractive voice. The horn players make for great entertainment including a trombone player that stole the show with his dance moves. He was feeling the music with every move he made and it in turn made you feel it to. Love the beats they dropped and positive vibes they created.....

  • Fat Freddy's should have dropped the volume...

by maragosta on 11/21/09Roxy Theatre - HollywoodRating: 1 out of 5

Sadly, after a two year wait hear Fat Freddy's Drop live, the mix was so loud, distorted and unbalanced that you couldn't even hear the vocals, or any of the other nuances that characterized the best of Freddys soulful, reggae dub-tinged stylings. I like my music loud, but not so much so that everything is lost in the decibels. And there is no excuse for a horrible mix, regardless of the venue. Walked out, which I have never done before. Came close at a Los Lobos performance over a decade ago for essentially the same reason; a great group lost in the dbs.
