    Heart Pounding!!!!!!

by bebe2222 on 11/4/10University At Buffalo Center for the Arts - Buffalo

Bought tickets for my husband for his BD a huge Hendrix fan. I like some of his music ,not really a Hendrix fan, This show was so amazing!!!! The talent on stage was such a true testament to Jimi Hendix and his music . Each musician had there own flavor, Living Color, Stevie Vai, Johnny Lang, Robert Randolf, just outstanding. The crowd was mesmerized by the vibe of the evening. My husband really enjoyed every minute of it. He says no one can ever be as good as Hendrx , he said this concert came very close to the real deal. I even got into all the music. I thought my heart might jump out of my chest , what intensity, very cool!!!!!!!!

Experience Hendrix - I am experienced

by madrad on 11/4/10University At Buffalo Center for the Arts - Buffalo

This was a truly great show with a stage of talent that would be hard to beat. There were so many great songs written by Hendrix with the interpretations that were true and contemporary. If you missed this show, by all means look for tickets for Nov. 15 show.

Experience Hendrix - UB Center for the Arts

by Smith6612 on 11/4/10University At Buffalo Center for the Arts - Buffalo

Awesome show. Was dissappointed that Kenney Wayne Shepard was MIA. After Vai, I was looking forward to seeing him. Didn't know too much about the other artists, but they were all phenominal. I already have my ticket for the next show in two weeks. Can't wait.

Experience Hendrix was an unforgettable experience

by Cstern on 11/4/10University At Buffalo Center for the Arts - Buffalo

This concert blew me away. I have been a fan of Hendrix since the late 60's - the first album I ever purchased was Are You Experienced. The group played for nearly three hours - at one point, I thought my head was going to explode. Each artist's rendition of Hendrix music was their own, yet they kept true to Jimi. The diversity of musicians was also outstanding - from Mato Nanji to Jonny Lang to Steve Vai. WoW

    OMG "Experience Hendrix" ROCKED!

by LJamo on 11/4/10University At Buffalo Center for the Arts - Buffalo

I didn't know what to expect - I've seen other shows similar to this and came out disappointed. Well, these guys ROCKED the house! Steve Vai, Jonny Lang, In Living Colour...EVERYONE was so fantastic. I heard songs that I haven't heard in a long time and a couple I hadn't heard at all. I recommend this show!!!! I wish they'd come to Darien Lake during the Summer!

    Experience Hendrix

by Iloveguitar on 11/4/10University At Buffalo Center for the Arts - Buffalo

When we arrived, we saw a posting that Kenny Wayne Shephard was not appearing as advertised. We were very disappointed as he was the main reason for purchasing the tickets to this show. We decided to stay for the show (even though refunds were being given), Well we are really glad we did! This was the most amazing show in all of my years that I have ever been to! Every single guitarist deserved to be on that stage playing Jimi's music.......he would have been both humbled and proud!

Excellent show but turn down the volume a notch

by Wilfster on 11/4/10University At Buffalo Center for the Arts - Buffalo

As the title summarizes, it was overall an excellent show. A great lineup of some top-notch musicians playing Hendrix music. With the exception of three songs (All Along the Watchtower, Hey Joe and Changes) I am pretty sure all the songs were Hendrix-composed. The one significant negative was that it was too loud - louder than it had to be. UB Center for the Arts is an excellent facility with great acoustics. It does not have to be super loud in there. I've seen King Crimson (twice), Joe Satriani (twice), Mountain (once), John Paul Jones (once) and Gov't Mule (twice) in this venue and this was by far the loudest show of any of them. So loud it was distorted. So please turn it down a bit for the November 15th show which I'll be attending. High point was watching Steve Vai, Vernon Reid and Robert Randolph trading licks. Eric Johnson was his usual amazing self. I'd never seen Jonny Lang up close before so I got to see how he seemed to be putting everything into his playing. The one song I was surprised not to hear was Voodoo Chile (or Voodoo Chile slight return)

    Awesome!

by intoblues02 on 11/4/10University At Buffalo Center for the Arts - Buffalo

What a great show; the line up was great all though we would have liked to hear Kenny Wayne Sheppard (who had to cancel). The whole experience was totally amazing!

    Experience Hendrix experience

by 97Champ on 11/4/10University At Buffalo Center for the Arts - Buffalo

The guitarists that showed were in top form. I found the Living Colour singer a little annoying and not really "Jimi-esque", but everyone used a little artistic license. Jonny Lang and Brad Whitford stole the show, I think. Eric Johnson was a pro, Mato Nanji played with no frills, super clean and raw intensity... the biggest surprise for me, and Steve Vai is a techno-geek that made the best fake faces. The only disappointment, and this was huge, was that Kenny Wayne Shepard was a no-show with no explanation. He was the one performer I wanted to see the most.

    Hendrix show

by JDC2 on 11/4/10University At Buffalo Center for the Arts - Buffalo

Great performances but sound level was way too loud even for such a concert. This made the vocals and music seem distorted.

    Bad Sound Spoils Concert

by Pedar on 11/3/10National Arts Centre - Ottawa

It's a shame that the production quality didn't live up to the quality of the musicians. From the start of the show an amateurish movie production featuring clips of Hendrix with audio and video problems set the tone for what was to follow. This production had about the worst sound I've heard at any concert, especially one at the NAC! The advantage of the the NAC opera is usually the outstanding sound quality. Too bad some of the amazing guitar playing was lost through muddy and incomprehensible audio and could not be appreciated by the audience.

Hendrix Experience - some good some bad

by Phred2 on 10/30/10Sony Centre for the Performing Arts - Toronto

First the obvious - sound system was terrible at times. The pure enjoyment of the guitar was less than optimal because of fuzzines and inconsistent sound quality. The back up singers at one point cold not be heard and even at some points when the guitars were supposed to be "front and centre" it seemed like they were turned off or at least way down. To add to this - the lighting was pretty bad. Not sure where the technicians were looking but highlighted guitar players were in darkness and the light was shining on other band members that were not playing a prominent spot at that moment. Obvious to everyone but the lighting techs apparently. I had very high hopes for this concert - Hendrix was a guitar god - and I wanted to sit back and let the music take me - but unfortunately it didn't. Even standards such as "Hey Joe" and "Along along the watchtower" were not in the 2.5 hour set. And the sound quality especially in "Castles Made of Sand" and "Little Wing" was just awful. Too bad - high hopes and the concert did not deliver. And the last thing - Get rid of the Living Colour singer - he got very boring after a while. Too bad - have seen Hendrix live 2 times - he never would have put up with this show. To Janie Hendrix - please re-tool the show and find better sound techs.

The show was great overall with great artists. Kenny Wayne Shepard and Noah Hunt were amazing. I would go just to see them perform. The only letdown was that the show ended way too soon. Im not sure that I got my $86 worth. It could have went at least another half an hour especially for the amount of artists that were there.

kenny wayne's night - Milwaukee show

by bluesharp on 8/19/10Riverside - Milwaukee

kinda a crazy lineup that had a bit too much of the Blackeyed Peas, but the guitar work was out of this world. Kenny Wayne stole the show. Satch has become the guru that just seems to take it all in, while others seemed to take the night off. but overall highly recommended. The Riverside folks did put a damper on the crowd.

Bad sound, bad show layout and Jonny Lang was awful. I really wasted $200 on two tickets.
