About

Over the course of his more than 50-year career, guitar legend Eric Clapton has covered an immense amount of ground. Along with dozens of album releases and concerts worldwide, he’s received three Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions — one for his solo career and two more as a member of both Cream and the Yardbirds. He’s also earned an unofficial spot high on the list of best rock guitarists of all time.

Though his eponymous solo debut surfaced in 1970, Clapton’s solo career took off in the mid-‘70s with “461 Ocean Boulevard” and its now-ubiquitous single, “I Shot the Sheriff.” The English performer has since released 19 more solo sets, most recently “Old Sock.” That 13-track collection features mostly covers, as well as guest appearances by several established musicians, including J.J. Cale, Paul McCartney, Chaka Khan and Steve Winwood.

Clapton’s numerous tours - both alone and with his many projects — have canvased the globe, with tickets selling out regularly at iconic venues like London’s Royal Albert Hall and New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

    Clapton/Winwood

by Livinmarina on 7/1/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Both Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton are playing better than ever. Good mix of both of their songs. Piano only version of Low Spark of High Heeled Boys was memorable. Accoustic version of Layla was a great sing along for the audience. No one does blues better than Clapton. John Barley Corn Must Die had me dancing in my seat. Rockin' great show!

    Blind Faith Redux

by bobf on 7/1/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Winwood continues his remarkable vocal style. Clapton is, well Clapton. Enough said. Both were completely professional and focused on the music.

    Blind Faithful

by Rono on 7/1/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

A great show at the Hollywood Bowl by Eric Clapton and Stevie Winwood proves that these two masters can still capture the magic. Great retrospective of both men's careers, plus a lot of musicianship on display to make for a memorable evening. One wonders what these two would have done together if Blind Faith had stayed together for a few more albums. Maybe Eric and Stevie might collaborate again on some NEW music again. We can only hope.

    Two Old Lions

by smbeachbaby on 7/1/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

These two old lions of rock n roll were good, but not unforgettable. The show started 20 minutes late and the jumbo screens were out of order for some time. I felt I did not get my monies worth.

    CLAPTON & WINWOOD: STILL ROCKING!

by BlindFaithFan on 7/1/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Wow! What an amazing show! Two master performers showing off their talent and having a rocking time doing it! From the first song to the final song of the encore - this was an awesome show! Eric Clapton just shreds the guitar! Steve Winwood sounded fantastic! His performance of "Low Spark of High Heeled Boys" was very poignant and moving in an absolutely perfect evening of performances. The best songs were the encore. When the opening riffs of Cocaine came on...everyone stood up to dance and sing! When the opening notes of "Dear Mr. Fantasy" filled the air - the collective cheer and word-for-word singing by the audience proved that Little Stevie Winwood from the Spencer Davis Group and blues prodigy Eric Clapton are some of the best rockers in the world! They still have it!

    Unbelievable

by Judy on 7/1/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

They did an unbelievable performance! There were 4 of us there and we all enjoyed it immensely. The only issue I had was there were 3-4 people 2 rows behind us that kept talking, and rather loudly - I don't know why they bothered going because they weren't listening to the awesome music! I would see them over and over and over again!

EC and Steve ROCKED THE HOUSE!

by gobluemich on 7/1/09Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Just a great show. I really hate travelling from South Orange County up to the bowl, but it was required for a show of this magnitude. EC, as always, was incredible. It was great to see him with Winwood and they played together throughout the night.
