EMMYLOU HARRIS IN CONCERT:

Throughout her long and storied career in country music, Emmylou Harris' unrestrainable voice has been an unfaltering source of inspiration. As a performer, Emmylou takes a personal tone with her fans, allowing them an intimate glimpse into her world with passionate renditions of classics like "Sweet Dreams" and "To Daddy." As she enters her fifth decade of performing, Emmylou is as radiant as ever, treating fans in 2014 to select dates on her Wrecking Ball Tour with Daniel Lanois.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Alabama-born singer-songwriter Emmylou Harris moved around the South as a child, eventually settling in to the '60s New York folk scene. Soon after, she met the legendary Graham Parsons of the Flying Burrito Brothers, who would become her country mentor. Their collaboration under his tutelage resulted in her major label solo debut Pieces of the Sky, a masterpiece that propelled her to fame. In the ensuing years, she has worked as a solo artist, a backing vocalist, and a duet partner for some of the biggest names in music. Over the course of her decade-spanning career, she has released 26 studio albums and won 13 Grammys.

    Emmylou Still Shines

by Toy Squillacioti on 3/28/24Chevalier Theatre - Medford

After more than 50 years, Emmylou Harris’s shows are as moving and brilliantly performed as ever. Her vocals are warm and strong and her virtuoso band played impeccably. She dipped into her wide catalog of songs from all stages of her stellar career, with expert displays of folk, country and bluegrass influences. Among the evening’s highlights were the moving “Boulder to Birmingham,” the elegiac “Pancho and Lefty” and the sweetly flowing “Save the Last Dance for Me.” Emmylou continues to have few peers as a singer, songwriter, interpreter and performer.

Glad to finally have had the chance to see her!

by Spaz on 3/25/24The Capitol Theatre - Port Chester

She has the voice of an angel and a great band backing her up. The whole evening was perfect, including the 8pm start without an opener (it was a school night). I'm so grateful to have had the chance to finally see Emmylou Harris play and at the SPECTACULAR Capitol Theater!

We visited US from Japan for the concert of Emmylou Harris. I missed it when I was living in CA 30 years ago. Emmylou's vocal was excellent and other performers were fantastic. I'm glad that I could see the show.

    At long last...

by David on 3/24/24The Capitol Theatre - Port Chester

I have been wanting to see Emmylou Harris for years but life got in the way. She's every bit of a national treasure and I could not have enjoyed myself more! Her performance was fabulous, her vocals and her rapport with the crowd welcome and easy and familial. And the band was tight - no filler anywhere. Just a great time - looking for to her next trip to New York!

    Still Among The Best

by Eppy on 3/24/24The Capitol Theatre - Port Chester

6 months removed from knee surgery, Emmylou was still in good voice and loved by all. I waited patiently hoping she’d sing the first song I ever heard from her “Boulder To Birmingham,” and was thrilled she sang it as her one and only encore. A beautiful ending to a beautiful evening and persona.

Her voice was not at its best

by Big Fan in ATL on 7/19/23

That evening, Emmy Lou was off her game. Her voice was limited to only a midrange. I have been a fan of hers for a long time and have seen her live before. Quite disappointing. Also, the acoustics were bad in Symphony Hall, as always.

    Great show

by Karen on 3/7/23Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

I can't even begin to say how awesome the show was with Emmylou Harris. First time being at the Atlanta Symphony Hall. It's a wonderful venue so nice! We were right down front and I could have sat there for hours listening to Emmylou. She is a legend and she lives up to it. Such a sweet gracious lady that put on a first class show. My husband and I both enjoyed it so much.
