    Emery=Amazing

    by SugSab on 3/29/11Masquerade - Atlanta

    This is my second Emery concert, and even without Devin they pulled off an amazing show. Poor Toby's voice had gone out but he was incredible through every song. My favorite was Josh, whose crowd interaction and high energy kept the entire room pushing forward for just one touch. Dave was spectacular and Matt was fantastic. I think that about runs me out of adjectives for "good". LOL. Emery is and has been my favorite band for close to six years now. I've got nothing but love for their live performances.

    Emery is an awesome band, as well as SBR and TRH

    by lansingdude on 7/9/10The Intersection - Grand Rapids

    Unlike the last event, the opener (The Red Handed) was absolutely great to listen to. They had a great mix of breakdowns, singing and screaming along with an alternating tempo. I enjoyed them so much that I bought their CD along with Sent By Ravens (SBR) a Tooth and Nail artist that was next in line. At first I wasn't sure of SBR, but after the first song I was hooked. I can't stop raving about Ravens. I got to meet the bass and drummer afterwards which was fun. And I shook the hand of Red Handed's lead singer Mark. After watching some amazing guitar on the part of Kiros, the crowd was subjected to some weirdos who called themselves the Queen's Club. When I heard their name at first, I was interested but they failed to impress with their music and anytime a band does that you practically wanna scream. And last but not least, Emery! The headliner felt like a breath of fresh air compared to QC. Emery started strong and never let up. I thought I was listening to their CD which was a great sign. After head banging, and jumping around for almost an hour, the crowd chanted for one more song and Butcher's Mouth (at least I think it was) my absolute favorite, closed out the show. Their performance was electrifying, astounding, amazing, and overall, SICK! Thanks again Emery.

    If it wasn't for Emery, I would have left early.

    by emeryfan on 9/6/09The National - Richmond

    The title pretty much sums it up. But to expand, the first band was local-Letterbox. Good screams but the lead singer pretty much just paced back and forth on the stage while he wasn't singing. He had as much stage presence as his monitor. Kiros=huge improvement. Probably one of my new favorite bands. The guys were more than energetic, gained control of the crowd, and had a pretty good sound. Ivoryline...I had heard some of their songs before...um, I wouldn't say it was the greatest performance I've ever witnessed but it wasn't bad. Closure in Moscow...wow. We had to sit down for this one. It was 5 guys competing for who was coolest on stage. Let alone the lead singer gyrating in a way that was just awkward and unpleasant to watch. I counted the songs until they left the stage. Then Emery came out and simply redeemed the show. I wish they would have played longer, but I have a feeling they didn't feel it was worth the effort since only 2 people showed up to the concert. Okay, well more than 2 people, but I really couldn't get over how few people there were there. Richmond must not have many screamo fans. Also, side note--set changes were mad long; at least ten minutes between each band--not efficient!

    Emery was epic.

    by Justin34 on 9/4/09The National - Richmond

    So the show was good. The first band wasn't that great so I was at first kind of disapointed but then the second band, Kiros, and the third band, Ivory Line, were both pretty awesome and I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good upcoming new band. Closure in Moscow was to weird for my taste but they weren't horrible. Emery was incredible. Period. I had been geeking out and freaking out etc. etc. about them forever but didn't realize how epic it would be until after I sat through it. It was amazing. Loved every single song they played. Emery made up for every suckish moment there might have been before and then some. I hope Emery comes again cause I will be there to watch them.

    Emery was amazing!

    by Johnclockwork on 9/4/09The National - Richmond

    Letterbox Tragedy was somewhat meh, but the rest of the opening bands (Ivoryline, Kiros, Closure in Moscow) were fantastic, and Emery simply blew me away.

    Talent pours out of Emery

    by greenbear1966 on 8/27/09The Norva - Norfolk

    I am a mother of teens who is very supportive of her children's likes, dislikes and musical tastes. When the opportunity came for one child to give the other a Birthday gift to see Emery I jumped on it. I have heard Emery's albums and enjoyed them very much. The show was incredible. Talent pours out of these guys. They are crowd pleaser's.

    Great Emery show... Crappy Venue!

    by Timmiralles on 8/26/09Recher Theatre - Towson

    The show was great. I am just moving back from Hawaii and I have not been to an indoor show on the mainland in over 5 years. I really hope this is not the trend back here but I was appalled when they decided to send jacked up staff members into the crowd to break up any mosh pits that started. I hope this is only an isolated thing because I will not spend another dime at Recher Theatre...

    AMAZING

    by Rachizzley on 8/26/09Recher Theatre - Towson

    I wasn't sure what to expect going into this show, because other reviewers had complained that Emery weren't very good on this tour, but that was just nonsense. As soon as Emery opened with Cutthroat Collapse, I knew they were going to be amazing through every song they played. Also, as far as opening acts go, Kiros and Ivoryline were simply amazing for two bands I have never heard of before. Closure In Moscow weren't all they were cracked up to be, but they weren't disappointing. Basically, this is one tour no Emery fan should miss.

    Emery was awesome, but setlist kinda sucked

    by SchNiVas on 8/20/09Peabody's Downunder - Cleveland

    Emery is a great band, and their concert was awesome, but their setlist was left ALOT to be desired. They played alot of songs that most fans aren't familiar with. Mostly from their EP. They played little from their The Weaks End album and only Two from their Newest album. It was a great concert yes, but a better set list would have sufficed...

    Kiros + Emery = best night of my life.

    by zombiekitty on 8/18/09Peabody's Downunder - Cleveland

    Peabody's was small and didnt have any AC or fans on, at least not enough to quell the heat. It was hot, sweaty, and some moshing started up that nobody really tried to stop as far as I could tell, but the bands were amazing and it sounded great and Kiros ended up being some of the coolest people I've ever met. I will definately go again if I get the chance. Seriously the best night of my life, despite Peabody's being really hot.

    DO YOUR RESEARCH

    by TheKatsMeow on 8/18/09Peabody's Downunder - Cleveland

    When I first saw the little poster that said "Emery, Mayday Parade, As Cities Burn, Peirce the Veil, and Cry The Afflicted" I was extremely excited. I immediately bought two tickets and made sure I had work off. Not soon after I bought the tickets, I went onto the Emery website. I looked at the date schedualed for my show, and became incredibly confused. All of the opening bands were different. Just to see it was a possible mistake on the website, I went to Mayday Parade's website. They weren't even schedualed to play anywhere near that day. When I arrived at the venue, there was a sign on the door listing the names of the bands that were going to play. NONE of the bands that were listed to play when I bought the tickets actually played. I was incredibly dissappointed. Emery did put on an amazing show, but I will definitely be more cautious when it comes to buying my tickets.

    Worth it

    by Rylaine on 8/18/09Peabody's Downunder - Cleveland

    When we got to Peabody's we waited about ten minutes for the doors to open and spent the next four hours waiting through the opening acts to see Emery. The other bands weren't bad, for the most part, but we weren't allowed to leave the club and we were hungry. Anyway by the time Emery started setting up, we were excited. And they didn't let anyone down, I don't think. They were better than I'd hoped they would sound, and it was sort of impossible not to get excited. Everyone got involved and they played a good mix of new and old stuff. Overall, it was a lot of fun and definitely worth the drive and the wait.

    Emery = Phenomenal

    by Robopunk on 8/16/0920th Century Theater - Oakley

    This band never, ever, ever disappoints. The intensity they brought with them to this show at the 20th Century Theater was out of control. Great crowd interaction. Awesome setlist. I can go on and on. They rocked so hard that during 'Walls' they actually broke their sign above the stage in half!!!! Now that is rock and roll. Do yourself a favor and don't miss these guys when they play near you. if you like bands that bring fun and intensity to their shows, these guys are for you.
