About

Before embarking on her own successful solo career, the immense talents of Scottish singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé were tapped by such artists as Professor Green, Devlin and Solange Knowles for whom she made guest vocal appearances in the recording studio and on stage. What’s more, the talented Ms. Sandé also penned tunes for the likes of Rihanna, Leona Lewis and Cheryl Cole. The whole world took notice, however, when Emeli performed showstopping solo performances at both the opening and closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympics. Now, it’s her time in the spotlight, as her eclectic jazz-soul pop hits like “Daddy,” “Heaven,” and “Next to Me” made huge waves in Europe and the States, and her concerts showcasing her powerful voice and skills on the keys have fans clamoring for tickets to catch her on tour. Her debut album Our Version of Events became the U.K.’s top-selling album in 2012, and in that same year, she took home Brit Awards for Album of the Year and Female Solo Artist. Emeli Sandé names musical greats such as Joni Mitchell and Nina Simone as major influences, while her own music has been compared to Alicia Keys, Adele, Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse and Bruno Mars.

    Entire show was awesome!!!!

by EmeliFanBmore on 10/23/13Meyerhoff Symphony Hall - Baltimore

The show was not full of flashy dances and lights, just very talented voices. Ivy levan was the first act and I enjoyed her voice and power behind it. She could leave the cussing at home though. JohhnySwim was the second act and this duo sang very sweet ballads and fun folks songs. Emeli blew my mind as soon as she came on stage and began her set. She did a blend of acoustic guitar and track for My Kind of Love, which was awesome and made everyone stand up. She sung a new song from her upcoming release called Lifted and that song truly moved my spirit. Towards the end of her set, she had not sung Next to Me and when she sung her last song, everyone in the hall was screaming for her to sing that song. I was so happy when she came back onstage and sung it.

Emelie Sande is an amazing songstress !!!

by ChampaignLife on 10/22/13Meyerhoff Symphony Hall - Baltimore

My husband and I left Detroit and had date night in Baltimore. Emeli was outstanding. Her sincerity and depth of lyric was only surpassed by her beautiful voice. The audience was a mix of old and young and all ethnicities and she kept everyone on their feet. It was absolutely outstanding. Can't wait for her new release. And we will absolutely see her again.

Emeli Sandé's vocals are wicked sick!

by concertfan2348 on 10/22/13Meyerhoff Symphony Hall - Baltimore

I love finding up and coming R&B artists with positive music. Too much cursing and too much obvious sex talking isn't my thing. Loving yourself, finding love, and being in love is the music that I hook on to. Her vocals are amazing! She's sounds exactly like the album, if not better which means homegirl can singggg! Definitely would love to hear new music from her, since I know all of her songs.

Emeli Sande is the best singer ... Ever

by Melskies on 10/22/13Meyerhoff Symphony Hall - Baltimore

Emeli was so graceful and seemed to have a wonderful time singing. I enjoyed the performance so much and did not want it to end. She came out for an encore (although I'm sure it was planned) but it was an amazing show. The opening act johnnyswim was also really great and talented.

Emeli Sande is most genuine & emotional performer

by suzieshortkake on 10/22/13Meyerhoff Symphony Hall - Baltimore

Emeli is the most genuine performer I think I have seen live. There was a raw sense of enjoyment and emotion. Her voice is even more incredible in person. Absolutely have to see her if you're any kind of fan. She even greeted fans and signed autographs and took pictures after the show on her way to the bus. Most memorable show I've ever been to.

    AMAZING SHOW

by Showgirl13 on 10/22/13Meyerhoff Symphony Hall - Baltimore

The opening acts were good (JohnnySwim) and Emeli was amazing. Her voice is moving and it actually may be better live than in the studio. I'll recommend to everyone. She drew every single type of demographic there. It was really great. I just wish she sung Mountains and River.

Emeli was incredible! I have wanted to see her in concert for some time now and am so glad I finally did! Her vocals coupled with her energy make it a show I will never forget. My mom and I went to the show which made it even more special. Emeli is better live than her studio album! She goes above and beyond and seemed very humble and appreciate! She deserves it all! Best show! My mom and I even met her after the concert! Unforgettable!

Emeli's performance was AMAZING!!! She sounds exactly the same live as she does on her album and you can tell that she is truly a good soul. The power and emotion behind her voice makes it hard to believe this is only her first album and that she is only 26 years old. Her concert is a must see if you are a fan and enjoy her genre of music...you will leave being an even bigger fan than when you arrived!
