Elf: The Musical On Tour
Since its release in 2003, Elf has risen to the rank of a modern Christmas-movie classic. The film tells the story of Buddy, a North Pole toy-maker who slowly comes to the realization that he's not like the other elves (his 6'3" height being but the first tip-off). Soon he sets off to New York City in search of his real father, leaving a trail of trashed-up department stores, snowball-fight victims, and syrup-soaked spaghetti in his wake. Will Ferrell's hilarious yet heartfelt portrayal of Buddy has transformed the character into a Christmas icon on par with Santa, Rudolph, and Frosty, and the legend of Elf only grows each holiday season, as new generations discover it.
While a much-rumored sequel has yet to materialize, Buddy's tale has found another home on the stage. In November 2010, the musical adaptation of Elf debuted on Broadway, with an original score by the Tony Award-nominated team of composer Matthew Sklar and lyricist Chad Beguelin, and a book by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan (The Producers) and Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone) that takes some liberties with the film's plot. For one, the play is narrated by Santa Claus himself, rather than the Papa Elf character. But thanks to jaunty, wintry showtunes like "Christmastown" and "Sparklejollytwinklejingley," Elf: The Musical has become a phenomenon in its own right. After smashing box office records at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on Broadway, the play has spawned a touring production, a soundtrack album, and an animated TV-special offshoot on NBC (2014's Elf: Buddy's Musical Christmas). In 2018, the play hit the road again, venturing across the United States to ensure that seeing Elf on stage remains an annual holiday tradition on par with watching Elf on screen.

The film version of ELF is a holiday classic in our household, so the stage version had a lot to live up to and they did it! Set design was great, but it was the cast that made this show one of the best I've seen in a while! The depth of talent was amazing! They truly made this a magical experience. We found our inner ELVES!
We thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a very nice show!
The show was great!! The time not so great!! 7:30pm is too late for a children’s show.
There was 9 of us and we all loved it !We will definitely come back!
This was so beautifully preformed! Every actor was perfect in their part. The signing and dancing was great can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed this musical. I think it is great for all ages. We are over 70 and loved it.
I Loved the show! It was very entertaining and so colorful! It did not disappoint!
Elf is the perfect way to kick off The Christmas Season. The set, the characters, the music, the writing - everything was Brilliant. Will be going again!
The show was awesome. Lots of songs and jokes. My family and I really enjoyed it.
Both my daughter and I loved it. As good if not better than the movie!
I took my 7 year old to see this musical. It was a wonderful bonding experience. I recommend it for parents wanting to do something with their little ones. It was just as enjoyable for me as for her.
The show was fantastic. The set was incredible. I've been to many NYC Broadway shows and this show measured up in every way. I highly recommend this show to "kids" of all ages. The McAllen Performing Arts Center is amazing and beautiful. I'm definitely going back for other shows!
Elf was a great show for the holidays. Took my grandson (12 years) and his friend and both boys enjoyed the play very much.
This show was fun and exciting. I had a great time with all the scenes. The seats were amazing.
Took family this weekend and enjoyed spending time together and get into the Christmas spirit.
I went with my daughter and my grandsons. We really enjoyed the show it was entertaining and funny and the actors and actresses were very talented. I would highly recommend seeing it
I took my Grandchildren to the play thinking it was OK for young children. It was not. Some of the language was directed for adults. This was touted as a family show. The costumes were very nice You ask for pictures below the staff were all over NOT ALLOWING ANY PHOTOS
This was the first time that all 4 grandchildren went to see a musical and for the first time they all stayed in their seats and on the edge of their seats. This was a miracle in itself. They loved it and wore their "Santa I know him" shirts as soon as we purchased them. All 8 of us enjoyed the entire performance. The scenery and movement of everything and everyone was timeless. The theater was wonderful, easy to get to and exiting. Wonderful experience for children. I would recommend Elf to the young and young of heart. Love of family is where it is and Elf had it all.
Although there was nothing bad about this musical there were a few things that were lacking...the songs for instance were not really what I would call "Broadway caliber". And Buddy was just well...dare I say it? Not goofy enough. Don't get me wrong, the guy can sing. It is just he came across like a more serious Broadway artist and it felt like he was holding back. He needs to let his goofy freak flag fly to play Buddy. The only other players lacking were his father...a little too one note and the secretary...adorable but hard to understand (you can have a high squeaky voice and enunciate). The goods far exceeds the bad though in this musical. The sets and costumes were festive and well done. The supporting cast and ensemble had a great set of voices and personality to spare. The story was sweet and Santa was played to perfection.
Great seats & the entire cast were great! Going to musicals like The Elf puts me in the Christmas spirit
