About

Elbow will make a much anticipated and welcome return to Australia for four special shows. Fellow Brits and special guests, Bombay Bicycle Club, join Elbow on tour in what will be their first Australian shows. Tickets go on sale at 9am Tuesday December 6.
Elbow's return visit follows quickly after four mesmerising performances last July, including sold out shows in Melbourne and Sydney and a remarkable set at the Splendour in the Grass festival.
Elbow have consistently delivered impeccable, brilliant live shows. "Elbow are as close to a perfect live band any punter could hope for..." Fasterlouder
The band's graceful, lush orchestral sounds a gently sublime mix of the intricately elegant, poignant, and elative, rousing crescendos serve up stunning renditions from their five album repertoire.
Up front, Guy Garvey fills the room with his angelic vocals, undeniable stage presence and natural charisma; his generous between song banter building a strong rapport between band and audience. "‘Open Arms' was triumphant, ‘Station Approach' possessed an almost hypnotic jubilation and set closing ‘One Day Like This' was positively euphoric." Drum Media
"We think we may have gone to musical heaven..." Inpress 2011 marks Elbow's 20 year anniversary and the release of their fifth studio album, ‘Build A Rocket Boys'. ‘Build A Rocket Boys' follows debut album ‘Asleep in the Back', ‘Cast of Thousands', ‘Leaders of the Free World' and their fourth album, the 2008 Mercury Music Prize winning ‘The Seldom Seen Kid'.
North London's Bombay Bicycle Club, opening for Elbow on all shows, have released three albums in as many years. Winning a competition to perform at V Festival while still at school, the youthful band released their gold, debut album,‘I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose', in 2009. Wasting no time, a stripped down, acoustic, second album ‘Flaws', was released a year later making the UK top 10. ‘A Different Kind of Fix' is Bombay Bicycle Club's latest offering, cited as a their best record yet and a promise of more to come. The band have built a fiercely loyal UK fan base to which they're about to add a whole lot more Australians. Immerse in the sounds of Elbow, with special guests Bombay Bicycle Club.

    Elbow was great

by Chmee on 5/16/14The Electric Factory - Philadelphia

A great show at a great venue. Only wished that the band would have turned down the volume on the instruments and turned up the volume on the vocals. Guy's voice has an amazing tonal quality which was drowned out.

The concert was amazing and to see Elbow in a small place the electric factory was priceless. Thanks Philly and thanks Elbow.

    Best British band around!

by Sonny2265 on 5/16/14The Electric Factory - Philadelphia

On the one hand, I remain disappointed that Americans haven't caught on to the sheer awesomeness that is Elbow. On the other hand, the fact that Elbow are so relatively unknown here helped contribute to the perfection of the show. We were able to be in the front row and get to see Guy Garvey's immense talent up close and personal. What a showman! And what a voice! Elbow's music could fill huge stadiums, and yet it paradoxically also brings together a small crowd with an intimate grandeur. Garvey manages every moment and owns the stage. I was so impressed as well by his attempts to connect with as many audience members as he could. He made eye contact with person after person. This concert stayed with me long after we left the Electric Factory. I loved the band before but now...now...so much more. I hope they come back to Philly soon. I'll be there!

Elbow: best gig of my life

by JemUSA on 5/16/14The Electric Factory - Philadelphia

What an honor and such a treat. Britain's best band in such an intimate venue. 10 feet from the stage without being moshed to death. An audience from 7 to 70 years, all going ape. The band were on exceptional form and Guy let us into his heart with such grace and charm. They looked as though they were enjoying it. The Electric Factory is the perfect venue, though their hard cider sucks like a Dyson. Songs old and new - all anthemic, be it ballads, pop or stompers. A totally top drawer gig and my partner and I rated it the best gig of our lives. John Grant was an ideal support act, love his voice. Immediately went out to try to get tickets for NYC tonight, and bought both Elbow and John Grant's latest albums. Being a total wuss, Guy's live rendition of The Night Will Always Win set me sobbing. Now have a Pavlovian response to the song, which means I can't listen to it while driving. Small price (literally and figuratively) to pay. Get your lardy bum to an Elbow gig forthwith!

The best Elbow show I've seen

by mainrd1 on 5/16/14The Electric Factory - Philadelphia

What a brilliant show. I've followed Elbow since the beginning and have been to 6 shows and this by far was the very best. Great venue, great crowd and the band responded. This band just continue to get better and better and I look forward to them returning to the Philly area soon.

    Absolutely Awesome!

    by Kluge0112 on 5/15/14Royale Boston - Boston

As good as the studio versions are, they cannot compete with the live experience. Guy's voice has an even more breathtaking smoky crispness live that makes you feel as if you're living the lyrics with him.

    Elbow flexes their musical muscles

by eyesaw on 5/15/14Royale Boston - Boston

Got to be the best band in the last decade. Guy Garvey should be poet laureate. Great set. Great musicianship. Loved the two violinists. Loved the drinking.

    MOST SUPERB EXPERIENCE EVER! -Elbow

by ELBOWFan on 5/15/14Royale Boston - Boston

It was such a privilege to experience the band, Elbow. Guy Garvey really makes it a point to notice and recognize every fan he can which means a lot and makes all the difference; the fans notice and appreciate it. The talent displayed by all band members is unbelievable but Guy's voice is especially fantastic. It would be amazing to see Elbow again in the same intimate setting and I can only count down the days. :) Thank you for sharing your gift with us as well as sharing your humor and advice. Cheers!

    Elbow conquer Boston

by ChiesaRossa on 5/15/14Royale Boston - Boston

A great band feeding off an energetic crowd and vice versa. A great mix of new work and greatest hits, of small and bombastic. On this sunny day the sun just kept on shining. Thank you Elbow for a memorable concert. One of those concerts I keep replaying in my head, over and over...

At the height of their powers, imo

by NoelEiffe on 5/15/14Royale Boston - Boston

This show was among the best shows I've ever seen. Their connection with the crowd is unique, and their performance, sound, overall everything was about as perfect as could be. Even if you're so-so on Elbow - go see them any chance you get.

    They were Amazing!

    by Shmbon25 on 5/15/14Royale Boston - Boston

The band was great. Guy Garvey's voice sounded just as good if not better than on the albums. Sometimes a concert can be so disappointing because the cds have been adjusted and you really don't hear the true voice of the singer. But I AM SO GLAD IT WASN'T TRUE IN THIS CASE!

Elbow - Special Night in Boston

    by Oak14 on 5/15/14Royale Boston - Boston

Impeccable sound at the Royale venue had Elbow showing off top form throughout the night. Front man Guy Garvey's personable banter with audience made for a night which seemed like a gathering of friends.

Absolutely incredible. Been a fan of these guys for many years but this was the first time I've been able to catch them live. Guy Garvey is a legend of a frontman - witty, warm, entertaining, and constantly engaging the crowd. Acoustics in the venue were excellent and the entire band was on point. Perfect size venue to really feel a part of the show (~700 capacity). Overall one of the best live shows I've ever seen.

    Great night!

by SCVTheaterGoer on 9/23/12Greek theatre - Los Angeles

I was introduced to Elbow while watching "Live from Abbey Road" and was thrilled when I saw they were in concert at the Greek. Perfect location for a great band. Guy Garvey (could he be ANY hotter?!) was very engaging with the audience, and there was instantly a feeling of camaraderie with the band. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.
